# Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition Excellent bright leaning dry but slightly warm, shimmery and emotional vocals. Impactful non-bloated bass, tonality expert with a hint artificial highs for rock and metal. # Build and Comfort The cabe is bad to average, and the ear hooks are stiffened, but they can be custom-molded if you take the time and effort. The packaging is quite good for the price and it comes with 5 different types of eartips. # Tonality and Vocal Performance It has a light note weight and leans ever slightly bright but never feels thin. Amazing vocals at the price. Vocals are slightly dry, but there's enough warmth that it never feels thin. It's still soft, smooth and shimmery. They are front and center, very intimate and emotional. It's the best vocals I've heard in an IEM. It's not silky, but there's enough warmth that it feels full and very accurate. It handles pop, R&B, and even hip-hop amazingly. # Technical Performance Instruments are separated very well. You can hear them coming out of different places in its audio space, and you can feel the instruments. Imaging on it is very average. You can't track instruments very clearly, and they do jump in and out abruptly. It's not good for gaming, point blank. The sound stage is also very good for the price, there's enough width and height it never feels the widest but it's never claustrophobic. Instruments are very well spaced and layered. # Bass Performance Perfect bass quantity. It doesn't rumble or grumble (it does have a good amount of bass), but it's present and you can feel it, especially at higher volume. Even at lower volume, it still has impact. It's not the fastest, but it is fast enough that it has enough punch while not being slow enough to sound bloated. It's my benchmark for how I like my bass, although sub-bass is clearly lacking for genres that need a strong sub-bass slam like hip-hop but I will always choose this over something that's more fatiguing. # Treble / High-end Performance Treble is very well extended, it isn't sharp or harsh by any means. You won't get a very sharp attack on cymbals & hi-hats but there's enough energy for it to sound sound smooth and satisfying. The air is very well extended giving it a very airy presence. Like i said the treble can veer artificial for some on genres like metal and rock, but at this price there's little room for complaint, they still handle even those genres fairly well. And you're likely to not have that issue if you use wide bore eartips. In fact, to me it does much better than the brighter, and sharper 7hz G1. The highs on pop and R&B tracks sound very smooth. It has just the right amount of sparkle, shimmer, and air. I perceive it to be excellent for said genres. It also resolves details very well without ever being sharp for sibilant. # Eartips and Synergy I used the eartips that came with these by default. When I used other eartips, both the ones that came with it and others that I have, it sounded way worse. The artificialness of the highs became concentrated. The default wide-bore eartip balances it out, and with it, these become my favorite IEM so far and my golden tuning of choice. I've had countless eargasms with these. Huge shoutout to Dracomies for shilling these, he's the goat. # Long-Term Listening I can listen to these 24/7, 365 days a year and still not be tired or fatigued, yet still enjoy them like the first day. I think this set sounds exceptionally good at lower volume, which is hoe i listen to them for the most part and why I like them so much as they don't have any faults at lower volumes. quite literally perfect sounding, plenty of detail, enough bass impact, and excellent vocals. (Although I need to get moisture out of them with silica gel every now and then when i notice them starting to sound more plasticky and lose detail.) # VS Sivga Que Better bass to my preference. More shimmery and airy even at lower volume. More intimate and emotional mids even at lower volumes, same with the highs and bass. The Que is way more technical and is better if you prefer a more lush vocal presentation. I prefer how the vocals on the Studio Edition are colored (more neutral with only slight warmth) than the more viscous-sounding Que. # VS DUNU Titan S The Wan'er washes the Titan S in tonality for pop, R&B, and hip-hop, at least at lower volumes, but at higher volume it's a very close call. The Titan is a little thinner sounding. The Wan'er has better vocals, more intimate and forward mids, and better shimmer and air. However, the Titan beats the Wan'er in technicalities, treble extension (though I think the Wan'er still has more air to it), and execution for rock, metal, and similar genres. It also has a more tactile, cleaner bass, although the Wan'er has better impact. # VS Truthear x Crinacle Zero:RED The Wan'er beats the Red in the same departments as the Titan, and vice versa. The Red has better bass and sub-bass too, both in tightness, impact, and quantity. While the Titan is a little thin, the Red is more smoothed-over in its mids than the Wan'er. I clearly prefer the more natural mids of the Wan'er. # Final Thoughts Discontinued, and it deserves a successor with better accessories and better drivers. It's exceptionally well tuned and is in a league of its own in its price range. From the research I've done, in order to one up these you would have to shill out 300-400$, for either the studio 4 or the orchestra lite which is crazy. The Red Lion uses the same driver as these , and they are Tangzu's best-selling IEMs ever, which means these could've been just as successful as the Red Lion without all the bass bloat. It's a huge misstep on Tangzu's part how they decided to package the Studio Edition but I feel like it wasn't as successful because people in this price range want maximum impact that can immediately be perceived and it requires acquired taste to appreciate this style of tuning. If you have suggestions for me as a direct upgrade to these, please let me know. Budget is 150-200$. I'm broke. P.S These are obviously discontinued but a store in Vietnam still has it in stock (yea i looked everywhere) , if anyone is willing to drop ship it off them, please let me know. It's also available on alibaba but the seller that has it says that mcq is 20 pieces and no less. Espectaculares. Tengo en mente estos q reseñas, pero me frena el hecho que sean abiertos.... los uso en transporte público...

Can you get a hold of the wan’er sg studio edition? That’d be my pick in your price range

Yes. Cleaner, clearer treble and modest, but good bass. They’re a vocal/acoustic oriented tuning. I think you’d love them if you can get them

A common problem with many high-end IEMs, they have almost fully sealed design - better sound isolation, and possibly allows them to have better control of acoustics/resonances, but ultimately makes most of those high-end IEMs unusable for long-term listening sessions. The best sounding IEM under 1300$ I found after listening to dozens of them is 7th Acoustic Supernova and it has the same pressure issue. Better for your ears and hearing to avoid these IEMs entirely. Also, keep in mind that all these expensive IEMs do not provide much of improvement sound-wise over these 2 IEMs that are as close to reference sound as I could find: Wan'er Studio Edition (only WHITE one) or Moondrop Starfield (unfortunately no longer produced, so hard to find). Both of these do not have any "pressure" issue. But if you still want to use the tight-sealed ones, then the only workaround I found is as follows: when you insert the IEM into your ear canal, push the silicone ear tip against one of the ear canal walls, for example push it downwards, so that upper part of the silicone tip does not seal the ear canal and still allows some air to go through while you insert the IEM. You try to insert the IEM this way as deep as possible, deeper than you would usually/comfortably put them in, when you can't insert it any deeper then stop pushing the silicone tip towards the wall, so it unfolds and seals the ear canal. You will feel slight pressure on ear drum. After that you just slightly pull the IEMs from you ears, reducing the pressure, while still keeping them in your ear and sealed. You might do it couple of times until you get to the optimal pressure, cause its hard to get it right on the first try.

Just buy Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition. If you mostly use IEMs in low-noise environments, then it could your end game. If not - at least you will have a reference IEM with the most correct sound to compare other IEMs with it.

Wan'er studio edition is pretty goated. Bought them recently. They're awesome. Very accurate with voices/vocals/singers/singing/

I bought the Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition about 4 days ago and honestly that thing is awesome. If I had to realistically choose a next step up above that...I'd say..Zigaat Lush (with moondrop spring eartips). I totally get what you're saying though. The Wan'er Studio I personally actually ranked higher than Hexa, ER2xr and IE200 for enjoyability. It sounds better than those 3 on vocals. It's quite an amazing IEM for only $20. This was my video review of the Wan'er Studio Edition. So you can definitely tell I was shocked at how good they were: https://youtu.be/ke0K9piq3jo

Kima 2 isn’t redundant at all — it sounds nothing like anything on that list. It’s probably the most unique IEM I own, and even now I can’t fully explain it because it doesn’t sound a damn thing like its graph. (looks like it'd be identical to Tanchjim Origin but is actually warm like Dusk and Tea Pros) Wan’er Studio Edition is also its own unique thing.

Answering this in my terms: – If you want a V-shape, get the SG2. – If you want something neutral, get the Studio Edition. – If you care about vocals or accuracy, the Studio Edition is the clear pick. To illustrate: grab a few IEMs, put them on, and monitor yourself through a neutral mic like an NT1. Each one will color your voice differently. The Studio Edition gives you an accurate, “this is actually my voice” result. The SG2, by contrast, makes your voice (on the same mic) sound like a cheap Blue Snowball-tier mic. It's worse with vocals. Edit: Make sure you’re buying the *Studio Edition* specifically. If Ctrl+F doesn’t find that wording on the product page, it’s the wrong version. Edit: I used the white eartips included with the Studio Edition.

GK Kunten (before retune) (don't get it now). Could be bought for maybe 8 bucks? Basically a mispriced $60 iem. Artii T10. Nothing better below its price. Also gives $100 to $200 iems a fight. Dunu Kima 2. About a hundred bucks or so. Great vocals, great tuning, great bass. Not for trebleheads. Undoubtedly a warm iem. Also comes with a full rack of eartips that are some of the best out there ie, Dunu S&S, Dunu Candies, etc. Celest Pandamon 2.0 at 9 buckaroos. That was a hecking steal. Celest Wyvern Abyss at 9 buckaroos. Another steal. Great for vocals. Purely a vocal set. Terrible 'technicals', ie bad soundstage and imaging. But vocals are chef's kiss. Sivga Que (original). A pure vocal set iem. Insanely good for the price. Just listen to the female vocals on it and compare it to iems that cost more. A/B it. You'll just think, how the fuck is this so good at 60 bucks? Xuan NV. At 67 bucks or so. A well rounded iem. I think these are fantastic for hip-hop lovers. Juzear Defiant (if you get one that works). Outperforms iems double its price. Tangzu Wan'er Studio Edition - Discontinued. But imo the best of all the Wan'ers. Great vocal set. Use the white eartips on it. If those don't fit, buy Kbear07 eartips and get the size that fits you. Don't use wide bore on it. Truthear Hola - Was 20 bucks. If you have it. It seriously makes you question why iems cost more. yu9 Que - It's about $400. But it makes me question iems that cost double, triple its price. Letshouer Cadenza 4 - This is a point of contention but imo I tell everyone just to get Cadenza 4 instead over the $500 Tops Pro. It's an iem that seriously made me consider the worth of Tops Pro at $500. I genuinely believe that if you already have Cadenza 4 you'd be disappointed spending $500 on Tops Pro. I might really like Beryllium drivers.

Wan'er Studio Edition. This is how it maps to Crinear Reference on a 5128 https://preview.redd.it/y1889pdbaj3h1.png?width=1016&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f7eaed6dce37a7cad6147b690e864f9ca07e1c8

and on a 711 clone Edit: My point is not that they're the same. My point is this is as close as it gets at 20 buckaroos. https://preview.redd.it/mrgp8qukaj3h1.png?width=1038&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae9e82f7cbd7b72b4114e5c38fa53aef7497259e

I literally had a discussion about this with someone else today. And it's wild because most of the IEMs you mentioned are the same ones I'd take over the IE 100 Pro. As an example, the Chu 2, the Tangzu W'aner **Studio Edition** (not 2, not the Emerald thing, Not the original, the **Studio version**), Hexa (cheaper), etc. And yes, ironically the IE200 sounded more natural compared to the IE100 Pro. Wan'er Studio Edition is insanely good for $20.

Lately these are my favorites. I don’t know their exact sound signatures, but here’s how I’d describe them: Celest Pandamon 2.0 (with Kiwi Ears Flex eartips) – Super small, comfy, and chill—similar vibe to the Aful Explorer. I actually prefer these over the Salnotes Zero, 7Hz Sonus, Crinacle Zero Red, Artii T10, Tangzu Waner 1/2, Kefine Klean, IE200, Truthear Hexa, Moondrop Lan Reference, Chu 2, FDX1, Blessing 2, Kiwi Ears Cadenza, Inawaken Dawn, Dunu Titan S, and Truthear Gate. It’s about $20, a total “grower.” Boring at first, but comfort and tuning make it great. Likely warm or neutral-warm. Softears Studio 4 – Kicks ass. Especially on female vocals. I prefer it over all Meta-tuned and Harman IEMs. Campfire Andromeda 2020 – Neutral-warm with massive soundstage. Letshouer Cadenza 4 – On par with the Studio 4; I can’t pick a favorite between them. I can't describe how it sounds correctly and it's an IEM that shocked me because it (looks) like it'd be a Blessing 3 on graphs. Sounds nothing like anything out there. It's just an amazing IEM. I think it's U-shaped. Etymotic ER2XR – Love these for sentimental reasons. My EDC setup—always in my work bag. I use the Final Audio E multipack with the red adapter and my own tips. Dunu Kima 2 – The definition of neutral-warm to my ears. Filled the one gap in my collection (Lush, Dunu SA6 Mk2, Truthear Pure, S08, Explorer, etc.). The Kima 2 nails what I was missing. For budget stuff which surprised me. Xuan NV and Defiant. Both are spectacular with female and male vocals. Great punchy bass. Xuan NV is a bit more...liberal with bass. Defiant sounds more...correct with bass. But both are giant killers. Though the Defiant feels like more of a dragon slayer.
