I was thinking about buying chu 2 over zero 2 because comfort is very important for me. Previously used tangzu waner sg 1 and want upgrade. I’ve also been recommended the Cadenza and 7Hz G1 for better comfort and build quality. Could you suggest which one would be the best choice?

The Red Lion isn't bad. It has an agreeable tuning (bassy and fun) great value for the price (accessories) HOWEVER, the build is atrocious. Yes, it's cheap...but you're paying for the accessories more than the IEM. I have a set. I like it. Does it get regular rotation time....uh...NO

Giving a bump to DUNU and Tangzu. I think for value...Dunu Titan S2 (on sale) is better value for the complete package. Candy Tips, S&S tips, modular cable, compact carrying case, shirt clip and a cleaning tool...AND oh yeah...an small IEM that takes EQ well. The Kima2 was mentioned. The IEM is worth the price in of itself. I just got the RavenTeal delivered yesterday. You get the Candy Tips, S&S tips, short normal bore silicone and a set of normal bore BALL silicone tips. You get a modular cable, shirt clip, cleaning tool, IEM booties and a small, compact carrying case. These are a bit more expensive than the Titan S2...but IEM makes this a good value as well. Tangzu Wan'er series of IEMs have an un-offensive cable. But the value is in the included Tang Sancai tips. The Red Lion does come with the HE Sonic tips as well. Final Audio IEMs. SOME of those come with Final Audio Type E tips. I'm not 100% certain which model has what...but you might want to take a look at those as well.

if you can afford 2 sets...get the Salnotes zero 2 and either the Chu2 or the Wan'er. They should have different enough sound signatures that you can start making a decision which you might like. Watch the reviews for the two sets you buy. Learn the lingo...and what it is you're hearing. That knowledge will help you when you're looking for an upgrade later on

I own the Nothingear (2024) without a proper eq, sound profile.. the thing sounds like flat peaky horseshit. You got into IEMs not knowing the different tunings each IEM offers... To be fair a fair share of people do. My first iem was the Hexa, I hated the thing.. then I eq'ed it, and I enjoyed it till the right ear died. If you want more "balanced" There is stuff like the Wan'er Red Lion that offers a warmer sound w/ a bass boost, and nice smooth treble, but I'm only using that as a example. Cause there is psychotic sets like the Kbear Rosefinch that offers huge bass, and there nothing wrong with that, and there sets like the CCA Phoenix that offers loads of treble. This hobby is full on subjective on what people like, and what they hear. If you still want to try it, you just have to do a lot more research on what you really want.

There were no such issues with Jade Dragon Edition, SG2 Standard and SG1 resin shell and connector used to break though but that was fixed with Jade Dragon Edition, Red Lion Edition are build same but I think Tangzu’s manufacturing unit is not paying attention to QC that’s why customers are getting defective pieces.

Coz it’s crazy good 🥳 btw it’s newly launched so that might be a reason why it’s so hyped right now and it’s cable is also better than previous versions. Also the tuning is such that it will please most of the people unlike Jade Dragon Edition which is very vocal forward and lacks bass

Yes it has bass. >Chu 2 oxidation issue can be fixed by keeping them with silica gel It’s not as easy as you might think. In monsoon season, no matter what you do or how you store, moisture will definitely fk’em up. https://preview.redd.it/zkawl6zsbqvg1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=335447dd3c0fd53e11d37688d03c6a7d9424e217

Chu 2 is not an upgrade over Waner SG. Go for KK SV.

I ordered GK Kunten Type C with mic for ₹1275 on 17th March and it got delivered in just 2 days. That was honestly impressive. Big shoutout to The Audio Store and Bluedart for the quick delivery. Before you all start reading, whatever you are going to read are my first impressions as it’s been just a day since I started using it. And one more thing, I’m not a reviewer, I’m just a normal mf like you all so take my words with a pinch of salt. I donno how to differentiate lower mids and upper mids like [u/SaeSakura](u/SaeSakura) or others, all I can say is if the track that I am listening to sounds good or not. 😅 Now coming to the main part, the audio quality: I was genuinely not expecting this level of audio quality at this price. It sounds kind of insane for ₹1.3k. The first thing that stood out to me was the soundstage. It actually feels wide and spacious, something you usually don’t get at this price point. Music doesn’t feel cramped or “inside your head” like a lot of budget IEMs. The tuning is also very easy to like. Treble is smooth and doesn’t get harsh even at higher volumes, which is a big relief because a lot of budget IEMs tend to get piercing. Compared to sets like Waner SG2 or Elua Ultra, this is way more comfortable for long listening sessions. Now let’s get the negatives out of the way: The cable and eartips are honestly trash. The cable is stiff and feels cheap, and the eartips are nothing special either. It’s one of those cases where everything except the actual earpieces and audio quality feels budget. But once you start listening, you kind of forget about it. And that’s the theme with GK Kunten. It clearly prioritizes sound over everything else. I mean it feels like you are paying for the IEM and audio quality so you are getting just that. And for the price, I really shouldn’t complain about anything, only it deserves appreciation and nothing else. In terms of comparisons: Against Moondrop Chu 2 DSP, I would personally say avoid it. It’s prone to oxidation issues, the 2-pin connector can break easily, and the soundstage is quite limited. It also doesn’t sound that great without EQ. GK Kunten is just a much safer and better sounding option out of the box. Against Tangzu Waner SG, that one is more vocal focused but lacks bass punch and also feels more closed in. It’s good for acoustic and vocal heavy tracks, but not very versatile. Against Waner SG2 lineup including Jade Dragon and Red Lion, the main issue is treble. It can get sharp beyond 50 percent volume and becomes fatiguing. GK Kunten handles this much better with smoother treble. Also, the soundstage on Kunten feels noticeably wider. So Rock/Metal sounds much better in this. Even acoustic tracks sound better cos it sounds a lil more open. 7Hz Elua Ultra does have better bass and a nice soundstage, but it’s not something I would recommend to beginners. It can sound too quiet depending on your device and the treble can get very harsh at higher volumes, which makes long sessions uncomfortable. To know more about how 7Hz Elua Ultra compares to Red Lion Edition and who shouldn’t go for it, check out this post (The post is basically my opinion about Red Lion): [https://www.reddit.com/r/headphonesindia/s/43CGJCrrsZ](https://www.reddit.com/r/headphonesindia/s/43CGJCrrsZ) As for TWS like Oppo Enco Buds 3 Pro + or headphones like Sony ULT Wear, I don’t think it’s a fair comparison since those are meant for completely different use cases like convenience and wireless usage. Well you should also check this post, you might find it really helpful: [https://www.reddit.com/r/headphonesindia/s/9YMYmAhiXF](https://www.reddit.com/r/headphonesindia/s/9YMYmAhiXF) One more thing I want to mention is the design. In photos, GK Kunten looks just okay, but in hand it actually looks quite premium. The metallic faceplate has a nice shiny finish that gives it a more expensive feel. It’s just the cable and eartips that bring down the overall experience. I know I should have probably spent more time testing before posting this, but with the recent ₹200 price hike on Tangzu Waner SG2 lineup and delay in restock, I felt it’s better to share my experience now so people don’t keep waiting unnecessarily. TLDR: If you want pure sound quality at a cheap price, go for GK Kunten without overthinking. If you want sound quality along with funky looking earpieces and great accessories, cable, eartips and overall experience, go for Waner SG2 Red Lion (just keep in mind the limited soundstage and slightly piercing treble at higher volumes). For beginners getting into IEMs, GK Kunten is a very easy recommendation. It just sounds way too good for the price. For anyone who has spent more time with this IEM and feels I missed something or got something wrong in my post, please feel free to abuse me or add your insights in the comments section :) If you are looking to understand GK Kunten in more detail, especially how it compares to a sub ₹3K TWS like the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r, and that in a beginner friendly tone, I highly recommend checking out this detailed post by u/Ok-Clothes-5948 . It’s one of the most well written beginner friendly impressions I have come across. https://www.reddit.com/r/iemlndia/s/jYnXlEei22

Thanks for the tip, really appreciate it 🤟 I’ll definitely try that. And yeah, you should honestly go ahead and make your own post. Take your time with it and share your experience, maybe add some beginner friendly tips as well. It’ll actually help you in the long run too instead of repeating the same things in comments, you can just link your post and it’ll help a lot more people. Also, totally agree with what you said. Some people just assume boomy bass = good audio quality. And then there are others who buy their first IEM without understanding their tuning preference, don’t give it time, don’t try EQ, and then straight up tell everyone to avoid IEMs altogether. It’s kinda misleading at times 😅 I mean my 1st IEM was Moondrop Chu 2 DSP, right out of the box it sounded very quite and flat, so I didn’t like it, but after EQ-ing it in Moondrop App, I couldn’t believe my ears, I was amazed. It gave me a really hard time though with oxidation issues and all that you must be already aware.

I can totally relate to everything you said. It honestly sounds better than my Oppo Enco Buds 3 Pro+ and even my Sony ULT Wear. That feeling you’re having right now, I had the exact same experience when I got my first IEM, Moondrop Chu 2 DSP. At first, it sounded a bit flat out of the box, but after tweaking it in the Moondrop app, it completely blew my mind. The crazy part is, GK Kunten feels like a clear upgrade over the Chu 2 DSP in terms of sound quality, and the best thing is it sounds this good straight out of the box without needing any EQ. Man I am loving its wider soundstage than Moondrop Chu 2 and Tangzu Waner SG/SG2 lineup. Treble is also so much smoother than SG2 and Elua Ultra. ₹1300 well spent on GK Kunten.

Thanks 🙌, glad the post helped. Honestly, maintenance is pretty simple, nothing too crazy. Just get a small storage case and keep your IEMs in it instead of tossing them around in your bag, pocket or on your desk. You can also keep a couple of silica gel packets inside the case to deal with moisture, since I’ve heard some budget cables (like KZ stock ones) can oxidize over time, though you might want to double check that on Reddit. Apart from that, just keep your ears clean because a lot of issues actually come from earwax clogging the nozzle filter. Try to avoid moisture as much as you can, like sweat, rain, or using them right after a workout. And yeah, be a bit gentle with the cable, don’t yank it or wrap it too tightly, always unplug carefully. That’s pretty much it. They’re not high maintenance at all, just a bit of basic care and they’ll last you a good while 👍

That’s a really nice click! 👌 Listen it for another 7 days straight and then try any TWS earbud or wireless Bluetooth headphone, your ears won’t be able to believe how much muddy and bloated they feel. I repeat, once anyone tries a wired audio gear, there’s no going back. And yeah thanks for suggesting Bekhayali, it’s a really nice song. Also lemme suggest a few from my end: 1. Aadat by Jal 2. Yun hi chala chal raahi from Swadesh 3. Bhaage re mann by Sunidhi Chauhan 4. Sanam re 5. The Burning Ghat by Rishabh Rikhiram Sharma 6. Tere Naina from My name is Khan 7. Humnava from Humari adhuri kahani 8. Woh Lamhe woh baatein 9. Tere Naina from Chandni Chowk to China 10. Koi kahe kehta rahey from Dil Chahta hai

I haven’t used them personally, so I don’t have any first hand experience to compare them confidently. You should check community highlights for a better idea. All I know about Tanchjim Bunny DSP and 7Hz Salnotes Zero is these are neutral balanced tuned IEMs, just like Moondrop Chu 2. So from my experience with Moondrop Chu 2 DSP, I don’t recommend these to newbies who are coming from TWS earbuds / neckbands / Wireless headphones. As most of them listen to Pop, Hip Hop and EDM mostly and lack of bass punch might not impress them. Moondrop Chu 2 DSP sounded to me very flat right out of the box, after EQ-ing it to my taste using its App, I started enjoying it.

I can’t say anything with full confidence yet. The cable feels stiff and plasticky, but whether it’s prone to oxidation or long term issues is something I’m not sure about at this point. The overall build does look sturdy though especially the earpieces. That said, even Moondrop Chu 2 looked premium at first because of its metal build https://preview.redd.it/4fxujfah49qg1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f892e683301633d2d792fde3cd0efcc60af4903 and we all know how that turned out. Over time, the cable started glitching, the connector pins broke, the filter got clogged, and the nozzles were prone to oxidation. It honestly gave me a hard time. But yeah, despite all that, I can’t deny the sound quality was amazing. Whatever time I had with it, I genuinely enjoyed it.

I still prefer my mid range IEMs, my main is the Melody Wings Venus. But for the budget realm, my go to is the Tangzu Wan'er SG (the original) and GK Kunten.

I haven't been exploring the current sub $50 much. But my long time favourite budget set is the Tangzu wan'er SG (not to be confused with the newer wan'er 2). It's fairly light on bass though but it's a very good neutral set and starting point. For KZ my favourite is the Zenith, it's slightly over $50 but I think is easily the best sounding KZ out there and it had tuning switches for you to experiment with. It uses a very good driver and tuned very well, it'll give you a taste of how higher end IEMs will sound like.

Define "balance"? I assume you mean something that sounds flat/neutral/uncoloured. If so, Truthear Hexa or Pure, and if you wanna spend a bit more, Crinear Daybreak. Those are the first that comes to mind. For the budget realm, Tangzu Waner (1 or 2 doesnt matter) or 7hz Zero 2
