Im using tangzu wan'er red lions.
😂😂 Think you're over analyzing. But...follow that path... THINK VALUE. Red Lion comes with a set of HE Sonic Eartips, a set of Wide Bore Sancai Eartips. A silicone carrying pouch w/ a magnetic closure. A unique matte red cable that is well behaved and "feels" premium. The IEM's build looks and feel like a plastic toy. The sound is good...thumpy bass and clean mids and treble (at these price points) You get your money's worth of accessories perfect for a starter set
Giving a bump to DUNU and Tangzu. I think for value...Dunu Titan S2 (on sale) is better value for the complete package. Candy Tips, S&S tips, modular cable, compact carrying case, shirt clip and a cleaning tool...AND oh yeah...an small IEM that takes EQ well. The Kima2 was mentioned. The IEM is worth the price in of itself. I just got the RavenTeal delivered yesterday. You get the Candy Tips, S&S tips, short normal bore silicone and a set of normal bore BALL silicone tips. You get a modular cable, shirt clip, cleaning tool, IEM booties and a small, compact carrying case. These are a bit more expensive than the Titan S2...but IEM makes this a good value as well. Tangzu Wan'er series of IEMs have an un-offensive cable. But the value is in the included Tang Sancai tips. The Red Lion does come with the HE Sonic tips as well. Final Audio IEMs. SOME of those come with Final Audio Type E tips. I'm not 100% certain which model has what...but you might want to take a look at those as well.

if you can afford 2 sets...get the Salnotes zero 2 and either the Chu2 or the Wan'er. They should have different enough sound signatures that you can start making a decision which you might like. Watch the reviews for the two sets you buy. Learn the lingo...and what it is you're hearing. That knowledge will help you when you're looking for an upgrade later on
Moondrop Chu 2 has oxidation issues & if you have big ear the fitting might not be good. 7hz salnotes are great but cables are not good later you might have to replace them I own both red lion & gate. For me gate was the best i used it for gaming, music, calls everything. Balanced lacks the lows(bass) if you care iam not a bass head so not much of an issue for me. Vocal is clear. Highs are well tuned. Red lions are more oriented towards bass but not bass heavy very balanced bass, vocals are not really great but it’s good. Highs are well tuned. Works great for gaming, music, mic is actually impressive. But its quite heavy for longer duration it might hurt ears. Where gates are light weight & great for long duration.
Then you can go with red lions they feel premium. And is actually really good i love them.
nobody still got their par of waner 2 bass edition so we cannot say, however zero 2 is always a nice choice. Once they are reviewed you can compare the audio graphs to see which one will have more bass
drivers won't change it will be same stuff thats in current wanner 2 with a slight bass boost
Get the new tangzu red lion and thank me later
I would go tangzu Waner if bass is not important. More bassy then go zero 2. And don't over think it. I was mind blown when getting my first ones.
I've compared KZ Vader pro, KZ Castor pro & KZ ZS10 pro and I ended up with Vader pro due to tuning capability directly from the iem itself. Castor is more for music listening for me and ZS10 is at par with castor pro but external tuning. Moondrop for me is the starters so for gaming it's enough but not as exciting as Vader Pro. I have the Tangzu Red Lion and it's super bassy if you like that. I pair it with Fusi Audio K5 Pro DAC amp and it's good enough as I mainly game on PC and for traveling I pair it with TRN black pearl as I believe it's good enough for my lifestyle and routine.
Tbh, I bought the Tangzu as it looks nicer for me and more bassy compared to Moondrop, also you got 12 tips instead of typical 6 hehe
I own the Nothingear (2024) without a proper eq, sound profile.. the thing sounds like flat peaky horseshit. You got into IEMs not knowing the different tunings each IEM offers... To be fair a fair share of people do. My first iem was the Hexa, I hated the thing.. then I eq'ed it, and I enjoyed it till the right ear died. If you want more "balanced" There is stuff like the Wan'er Red Lion that offers a warmer sound w/ a bass boost, and nice smooth treble, but I'm only using that as a example. Cause there is psychotic sets like the Kbear Rosefinch that offers huge bass, and there nothing wrong with that, and there sets like the CCA Phoenix that offers loads of treble. This hobby is full on subjective on what people like, and what they hear. If you still want to try it, you just have to do a lot more research on what you really want.
Red Lion... Has good bass for any bass drops, and it's one of the best accessoried IEMs at around $20 with a good cable, HE Sonic Eartips, and Tangzus wide bore Sancai tips.. silicone case pouch. Sucker feels like it pays for itself.
It will sound a tad recessed because of the V Shape, but I never found it muddy.
I've bought tangzu warn'r sg2 red lion IEMs recently they are very uncomfortable to use I've tried various ear tips I want to return them I selected moondrop chu 2 as alternative but their 3.5 mm version doesn't have a mic and if I buy type c version the dac I bought will be wasted so suggest something that sounds similar to red lions but smaller like moon drop please 🙏 In similar price as of red lions
All of these are good, but they do slightly different things... Wan’er SG 2... warm, smooth, very good vocals. Great for Bollywood/Indian music but can feel a bit relaxed/less exciting.... fits good feels good ZERO 2 CRINACLE... more balanced with better bass punch and cleaner overall presentation. Very safe all-rounder.... light weight looks great thr fitting on the top area is hit or miss Truthear Gate... similar to Zero 2 but a bit more neutral/clean, less fun bass... fits well feels okayish CHU 2 most “technical” here (clarity/detail), but can feel a bit bright/thin for some... the changeable tips gets green stuff on it... you can clean em with a dry cloth or tissue... i suggest get those silica gel pouch... FITS THE BEST HERE that is if you have normal size ears Since you listen to mixed genres (especially Bollywood + hip-hop), I’d say... Zero 2 is the best balance of fun + technicality Wan’er 2 if vocals are your main priority You really can’t go wrong with Zero 2 as a first proper upgrade.
If you don’t have a specific then just get Zero 2 and you’re sorted.... zero 2 is the safest all rounder with much problems it has detailed audio and good bass without overpowering other aspect of music... where as waner is less detailed and duonic is less fun
