Based on 1 year's data from Feb 15, 2026 How it works
I went from - moondrop may - Tangzu x hbb wu heyday
Color scheming, some of the notes are a bit weird (e.g. Tangzu Heyday "being the best planar" while the Letshuoer S08 being ranked above it or Empire Ears Legend Evo: Hilariously colored tuning...super vivid/fun bass and midrange presentation = 4.86 score). I don't agree that for a reviewer the modal hump should be on 5, it should be on the higher numbers such as a 7 or 8. Even though it's understood that 5 is the marking for an average iem. The iem space doesn't really have a use for what is the "average" iem. Tbh, his ranking guide should have scores which have provided him 2 modes which can help designate readers better understand what is the "Don't Buy" and "Try/Buy" dichotomy. Also, Listener's lack of an argument for what: Bad => Mediocre => Average => Good => Great => Perfect, iem isn't established. Without that I'm still struggling to create meaning for his numbering scheme. I'd probably be able to dig up more problems, I just find this rather unrefined for what Listener usually has in his videos. I still really appreciate you bringing this to light, it was cool to see what he numbered various iems.
my tangzu HBB Heyday's, my gateway to actual good planar and bright iems suited to my tastes too, it wasn't fatiguing as well which made it my perfect to go iem, I've had alot of other iems that I've bought and sold, but my Heydays are staying strong
I have the Tangzu Wu Heyday. Big fan. Using Topping G5 and Tidal Hifi.
Tangzu x HBB Heyday is my favorite planar.
I bought the Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE at the same time for a great price, but It was the ewuivalent of a month salary for me. No regrets, they are my actual endgame on iems. Also, the Tempotec V6 DAP. Researched a Lot, bought one, never looked back
The in ear that made me fala in love with headphones in general was the Philips SHE 9000. I had an Xperia Phone back then and I had a blast with those. First pair of proper iems were the KZ ZSN pro with the meizu HiFi Dac, mindblowing for the time. A While later I got the Moondrop Aria that made the KZ sound like trash and Just a bit after I got the 7hz Dioko that made the Aria sound like a muffled boomy mess too. And that went on for a While until I got to the Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE. Now I have my endgame but I still collect cheaper iems.
My all time favorite Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE
By Far the UM Mest MKII, sometimes It sounds better than my planar Open back headphones. I had luck with the confort too. For daily use Im pretty happy with the Thieaudio hype2, they took the crown from my old Tangzu Heyday and 7hz Timeless AE. For Now Im looking for a daily use iem Just for Metal. I tried the Volume S, Final A5000 but they did not met my expectations. Im currently considering the Dunu SA6, EPZ P50, Fiio FH19 or tanchjim origin.
In your position i would pick either Tangzu Heyday or 7hz Timeless (og) rather than Aether. However, if you want buget planar S12 (non pro) might be the best option as well as Artti T10 (non pro)
As a fellow Hexa shill, I couldn't agree more. I've had the pleasure of owning the pilgrims, the zetian wu heydays, the monarch mk2 and a bunch of others but nothing beats the hexas. I've even eqd some of my other iems to the fr of the hexas just for fun
S08 gets my vote, comfort is great, accessories check, sound, slightly warm, easy listening for long session, like it more then Zetian Wu Heyday, and my S12 pro, I do like the Aether a bit more, but it is a fair bit more expensive, not as comfortable, and accessories could have been better.
I have the following planar sets listed from favorite to least favorite: Kiwi Ears Aether, Letshuorer S08, Letshuoer S12 pro, Tangzu Zetian wu HeyDay. Hybrid sets: Dunu BrainDance, Punch Audio Martilo, Simgot EW300
Can confirm. Heyday is a detail/separation monster.
