I used to have tsmr armor and also didn't like the treble at all. It have the best bass that I heard from any iems but the treble seems a step down to the iems I have before ( kiwi ears aether) + I have some problems with the pressure build up. I managed to exchange it with tsmr x. It is what I thought the armor should be. A Basshead iems with excellent details. So i would suggest tsmr x for anyone that want better treble. But right now in the market, I think isn sora seems a better choice. It's still early but I have seen it being compared to tsmr armor and it manages to outclassed it in everything and that include the bass. I will try to purchase maybe in few more weeks. I have contacted my supplier and it will be available in my country later this month. I will compare both later.
Can't agree more. I usually classify recent bassy IEMs as "meta basshead", or even "pseudo-basshead" ones. This include: Kiwi Ears Punch, Punch Audio Martilo, and even Thieaudio Origin. They often called a basshead sets by many people, but judging by my collection of a real bass monsters, I can't agree with that, so yeah. Pseudo-basshead. Aside from Fatfreq, which I haven't experienced myself yet (that may or may not change in the future), I've found my pausegame at TSMR Armor and TSMR X at the moment. Amazing sets both, with amazing bass that rattles my skull pleasantly.
Not sure about Martilo and the rest, but TSMR is my current favorite IEMs, both Armor and X. Armor is more warm in it's sound, with relaxed treble and upper mids, extremely bassy on 123 config, and X is more technical, more controlled and detailed, but less warm, very tip dependent, yet the bass is still huge, maybe even a tiny bit more so than Armor. Also X has the best bass control I've heard, it doesn't only hit hard, it hits with impressive precision. I'd say that TSMRs would be a lot more bass heavy than Xenns IEMs, but you can always play with tuning switches and tone the bass down if needed. Scarlet Mini is just bass, barely anything more as I've heard. Think of Scarlet as an upgrade to 7Hz Legato is what I've been told.
I'm unable to answer your exact question, but I can give my advise at least: consider TSMR Armor for warm sound, or TSMR X for technical sound. I like them both, and they can slam harder than Martilo (judging by reviews I've read, don't have Martilo myself), they basically can slam even harder than 7Hz Legato (that one I own), and being pretty good at details at the same time (X more so than Armor). Very good sets both, still can't decide which one I love more, but I don't know what Explorer sounds like, so I can't compare them unfortunately. Oh, and you can adjust the amount of bass on them to your liking, or screw everything and crank all the switches up for pure earthquake enjoyment. Or you can look for Ziigaat Doscinco, I believe it's the most basshead ZiiGaat IEM still to this date. Dual DD's in isobaric chamber is no joke, this one hits with authority as well, just not to the same degree as Armor and X, but probably still better than Martilo, at least I'm 100% sure it's better than Kiwi Ears Punch and Thieaudio Origin (I've owned those). Best of luck to ya.
If you want a bass focused, but still detailed set, then I'd advise you take a look at TSMR X - it'll have a lot more bass than Martilo, and it's of very high quality with surprising control. On top of that, there's neutral sound signature with good tehcnicalities. My current set which I absolutely love.
