Right now, the KBEar KB02 with TangSancai Widebore tips are really solid at their price point. I'm testing the TRI Draco, and it isn't bad. A little warm with a pretty steep treble roll-off, but the pertinent info for gamimg is there and the spatial imaging is solid. The ThieAudio Elixir with Whizzer ET100 tips does quite well, but the stage is a little narrow. I've had good luck with the KiwiEars Quintet EQd above 1500Hz to a replica of the Tea2 squig. Stage outside your head, which is nice. That EQ takes care of the Quintet's sibilance around 6K, too. I still haven't tried the EM6L, and doubt I ever will. Too much treble. Others seem to really like it for gaming. The Dunu DaVinci is similarly tuned to the Tea Pro, but I haven't had a chance to really put my pair to the test in gaming despite loving them for music. You could give the TRN White Tiger a try.
r/iems β’ Are these the βbestβ gaming iems? any recommendations for a good cable with a mic ->One of my personal favorite IEMs is the Thieaudio Elixir. It just has delicious mids that follow a guitar amp's breakup patterns incredibly well. Not over-emphasized in the bass, but accurate and quick. Metal and prog are fantastic in these, as are aggressive synths in electronic stuff. I just love dynamic drivers, and they picked a good one. Its cheaper counterpart would have to be the KBEar KB02 as far as mids go. That thing, for $40, just beats ass. A solid runner-up would have to be the Dunu DaVinci. Big smooth bass, smooth present treble, and polite but naturally timbred mids ever so slightly recessed. My daily driver over ears are the Neumann NDH-30. As a reference and mixing monitor replacement, they're fantastic. Favorite headphones I've ever put on my head. Granted, when you get into IEMs you have to take into account your own personal HRTF and pinna gain. IEMs have to compensate for pinna gain through tuning given they bypass the outer part of your ear. What I hear in one set may not be exactly what you hear in the same set due to differences in our individual anatomy.
r/iems β’ Are IEMs Really That Much Better, or Just an Audiophile Flex? ->I sing the praises of the Thieaudio Elixir anywhere I go. The tuning is Hexa with more mid bass and slightly more sub, wider pinna gain (more accurate mids), smoother and less peaky treble with just as much detail. The mids growl and follow all the details of distortion quite well, the bass thumps and booms with texture, and the treble is very detailed for a single DD. Runner up is the KBEar KB02. Despite its physical resonance, I really enjoy the bone conduction bass. It separates itself so well from the mids. The mids are just shy of shouty in the upper registers. Gives great attitude to rock vocalists and guitars, and allows synths in harder electronic music to really growl and percolate. The dynamic driver is pretty impressive for its price point.
r/iems β’ Hidden Gems - What's the most underrated IEM in your collection? ->I've never had a chance to hear any Barefoots. I do miss mixing on my Genelecs, though. Yeah, that graph (ollo X1) looks dramatic. I dislike how they hump at 500 then just cliff-face up at 6K. 5K to 6K is my most hated frequency range lol and it's damned near the strongest representation in these cans. Recessed 1K - 4K (my favorite range) with the 500Hz hump being decidedly louder even than the meat of the best part of the mids is questionable, but that treble response legitimately worries me. I may try them if I can demo them somewhere. I doubt they would ever be added to my collection. They just look like they're both boxy and tinny at the same time. I got some Thieaudio Elixirs (my current favorite IEMs) on ebay for about $150, so you can definitely find some deals. Check r/avexchange, too.
r/iems β’ Ultimate IEMs Recommendations List ->Tripowin piccolo if you can find it... Incredible value, dynamic, a lot of space information, reverberation ,very full bass but is cable sensitive and you have to find the right one, and they are heavy also. Now I'm using that with the cable that tsmr gives with the tame land and they are super because this cable bring the highs a little down. I have penon vortex thieaudio elixir and piccolo stay at the same level but unfortunately the paint can be scratched away if the fall and the nozzles are to affilate and can cut the silicon tips.Β
r/inearfidelity β’ Best technical iem below $100 ? ->I'm in the same boat, I tried Thieaudio Elixir and Tanchjim Origin against my Tangzu Wan'er but to hear the differences I have to listen at a higher volume and close my eyes to focus on the song which is something I'll never do 99% of the time.
r/iems β’ I cant really tell the difference between 200$ IEMs and 30$ IEMs ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
