Is the soundstage better than the Hola? My left Hola earbud got damaged, so I'm considering buying a new one. So far, I've only tried the Castor. While it was good, it lacked the soundstage of the Hola.

For real, unfortunately my truthear holas are busted, they lasted a good few years though. Have some space travel 2s currently but will probably get more iems soon along with a Bluetooth dac amp

Havent heard but was also interested in them awhile ago. Though heard it went thru a silent revision not too long ago and it is no longer a bassy set. I also looked for a basshead set and got something else. It has quite mixed reviews but I still deeply love my 7hz Legato. Got it over 1.5 years ago for around $65. For reference, all the sets Ive heard: TE Nova, TE zero, Letshouer S12 Pro, 7hz Legato, Artti R1, Tangzu Fudu, Kz Pr1 Pro. Used to own the Tangzu Waner and TE Hola, but gave them away. If you really wanted bass, cant go wrong with Legato. Artti R1 is still quite warm and bassy whilst still being more detailed and balanced if you dont want to lose much detail.

Dang, I had no idea they're discontinued now. Makes me glad that I have 3 pairs of them lmao. For context I bought a pair to replace my Moondrop Chus bc the cable kept breaking and I kept having to solder them. After a plane trip, I came back and noticed one of the earbuds was missing from the cable, and I thought I had lost it on the plane, so I ordered another pair. Turns out the missing earbuds was somehow under the microwave so I had an extra pair. I also got a pair for my dad at some point, but he didn't really end up using them so they're just sitting around as well. I honestly kinda regretted not buying another earbud to try out, but now that the Holas are discontinued I'm kinda glad I have a few. They're basically flawless. Compared to the Chus, the cable is a lot better and also they don't fall out my ears when I move. The Chu IIs have a detachable cable now but they still seem very heavy.

I'm fairly new to this territory. First I bought a truthhear hola and it's too flat and horribly big then I got kz Zsn pro x Pretty good and kind of liked it but I need a little more bass. I recently bought a shanling m1 plus and wanna pair something to it. Current options : 1.7h legato. 2.InAwaken Dawn Ms. 3.simgot ew300 hbb. 4.simgot ew300 standard. Are there any better options? or which one should I choose bw these? I get my IEMs from: Headphones zone Or Concept kart India🇮🇳

The Truthear Hola and maybe some other models have a reputation on audio forums as a budget banger. I have a pair and can confirm.

Truthear Hola. Great build quality, love the bassy but not overwhelmingly so (unlike 7hz Zero 2) tuning. Details are okay still, real shame they are discounted.

Hello everyone, I need help choosing new in-ear monitor from the jungle of models. I currently have a pair of Truthear Hola, which I like, a pair of KZ Castor (Harman) and above all, the best from my point of view, a pair of CCA Rhapsody (with switches set to 1000). I love the Rhapsody, but they are big and quickly uncomfortable in the ears. So, I need help choosing new in-ear headphones from the jungle of models to replace the Rhapsody. I mainly listen to Jazz (trios and small groups), voices and classical music. I like the bass to be present and precise, the mids not to be recessed, and the highs to be well defined but not aggressive. I use a Hiby R3 DAP or a Toppinx DX1 DAC with my PC. My budget is under 100 euros. I would like to find a model at least as good as the Rhapsody, but with smaller and more comfortable shells. Thank you in advance for your valuable advice. PS: I already tried the Kiwi Ears Cadenza, I didn't like it, and I listened to the Aoshida E20, I liked it, but I didn't think it added much compared to the Hola.

Thank you for your advice. Hola have a good size for me. Rhapsody are really big boys, if EA500LM are that big, it will be a nogo for me.

Hello, I use 1000 switches setting with the Rhapsody. And I also use a pair of KZ Castor (Harman) with 1100 setting. I like Castor and Hola, but I prefer the Rhapsody, it's more my taste, just it has very large shells like the Castor. For comfortable listening the best of these are the Hola, but the sound is more muffled. When I don't use an Iem I listen music on a pair of Q acoustics 3020i or a pair of 3030i I love the two. I also thought to S08, Delci and also the Sivga Que. But I don't know what is the best for acoustic instruments. Looking at the shell geometry, I think the Sivga are more comfortable than the other two. The other one I thought was the Simgot EA500 LM. But I don't want harsh treble or too metallic sound. And maybe it's the case with this pair, don't know. Thank you for your suggestion, it helps me.

To me, the main improvement of the higher end is in the detail retrieval (aka "technicality") - which is also the part that will never really come across in graphs. The critical part that you **need** high quality source audio for this to matter in a lot of music. To truly hear detail with something like Spotify, you need to go to your settings, turn off volume normalization, and make sure you are using the highest quality streaming settings. DACs and Amps do play a part too, but a basic dongle with IEMs should be fine. The settings with source audio itself is something I think a lot of people will forget to check. I have been A-B testing between Tidal and Spotify on different gear lately. There are times when I feel like I can hear a difference, but in my opinion, it's pretty damn hard to tell most of the time - but there is peace of mind in *knowing* that you are using the highest quality audio possible when it comes to enjoying higher quality IEM's and headphones. I started off with Headpohnes - but my first IEMs were a $300 pair of Moondrop Blessing 2's. I bought a pair of $20 Truthear HOLA's at the same time, just to have a comparison. I watched review videos and saw so many people gush about how good the HOLAs were for $20 - so I wanted to see if I could tell a difference. Immediately, I tried a few different songs and switched back and fourth... And sure, the HOLA has a nice tone to it, arguably better than the Blessing 2 without EQ - but when it came to hearing details, they sound like mud compared to the Blessing 2. Playing with different Equalizer setups with higher end gear can also have a significant impact. I recently had a trip with a group of friends, and I brought along my best headphones and had everyone try them out. With high quality source audio and a well tuned EQ, most of them put them on, listened for a bit, and said something like "Oh wow... Yeah, I get it". But at the same time - none of them ran home and got a new set of headphones/IEMs. 'Good enough' is all most people really want, and the bar with cheaper gear is pretty high now days. I certainly don't mean that as an insult either - you are 100% right in questioning the differences. It takes a lot of time to make sure everything is right- but the higher end you go, the more each part of the hardware (and software) chain can have an impact. To put it another way; IMO, you can get 80% of a 'good audio experience' with stock Spotify and some good budget IEMs. The next 10% comes from better source audio, settings (software config/eq), and the final 10% is the quality of hardware - where the more expensive stuff truly makes a difference, but is exponentially more expensive as you get towards the best of the best... but it also explains why a lot of people don't feel the *need* to spend more to enjoy the experience. Beyond all that- the listening experience itself is another discussion. If I'm using my best gear, I'm sitting in a comfortable chair in a quiet room, listening to music and nothing else.

I have used KZ ZS10 Pros until the cable connections disintegrated, then I bought a set of Trurhear Holas (now discontinued, Gate is the successor). Both much cheaper than the SE215 and both sound better. The SE215 are a muddy mess, definitely not worth the $100. The ZS10 Pro's sound is V-shaped, they have much more treble than the Shures so they were immediately much clearer. Can be too sharp and fatiguing in the upper-mids / lower treble if you have sensitive ears. The Truthear Hola were even cheaper than the KZs (like $20), but they sound the best and most balanced of the three to my ears, insane bang for buck. Isolation wasn't great with the stock silicone tips, but swapping them for foam ones did the trick.

Used my Truthear Hola for more than a year. Had to go for a type-c iem after upgrading my phone. Decided FiiO JD1 as its type-C version comes with an inbuilt Hi-Res dac.

If it's soundstage that you're looking for I'd suggest Hexa. A wide soundstage is its USP. And it will be a good upgrade. Personally, I wouldn't say sound separation and imaging is that good in either IEMs i.e. Hola & JD1. The latter has advantage in the price segment due to the inbuilt Hi-Res DAC only in the type-C model.

JD1 is louder and sharper due to the DAC. It has better bass. Hi-Res support is an added bonus. Hola sounds more balanced. It fits better and gives little to no fatigue. I like them both however let's see how far JD1 lasts, cables and everything.

All my previous earphones and headsets were nothing compared to Truthear Hola & FiiO JD1. In turn, these two are just basic compared to options available in higher price segment. Between these two I prefer Hola due to a more balanced sound. However, it has gone out of production.

If I’m recalling correctly the Cadenza is similar, but the Hola is still one of the best budget IEMs that’s ever been produced so it’s hard to find a good replacement.

My experience with ZVX PRO, not even a month and left channel is significant lower sounding than the other. Truthear Hola same problem but they lasted almost 2 years. I don't buy more expensive iems because of this, as good as some sound for the price they are still cheaply made and the warranty is inexistent.
