Is the soundstage better than the Hola? My left Hola earbud got damaged, so I'm considering buying a new one. So far, I've only tried the Castor. While it was good, it lacked the soundstage of the Hola.
r/iems • Got a new FiiO JD1 type-C ->My History of use : Sennheiser ie40 pro (7.8k rupees) : Best one I've used till date but due to proprietary cable bs it's unusable now Truthear Hola: There's perceptible difference in audio quality compared to the ie40 pro. IE40 pro was very clear and treble was really good with ample amount of bass. This one sounds muffled. Clarity is not there. But for 35 usd ( 2.8k rupees) I can't really complain. Letshouer S08: Just got it today and I've been listening to it. I have changed the eartips and everything but I just can't find much difference between this one and the Hola. This cost me 100 usd (8.4k rupees). Sound is muffled and clarity is just not there. Maybe iems with warm sound signature are not my cup of tea. It has no soundstage as well. Just meehhh. Please suggest me some good iems under 100 usd which have clear audio and good for classical music (guitars and violins should sound amazing ) which also has ample amount of bass (like my IE40 pro 😢)
r/iems • Letshouer S08 is underwhelming, just marginally better than Truthear Hola for 4 times the price, suggest alternative please ->Havent heard but was also interested in them awhile ago. Though heard it went thru a silent revision not too long ago and it is no longer a bassy set. I also looked for a basshead set and got something else. It has quite mixed reviews but I still deeply love my 7hz Legato. Got it over 1.5 years ago for around $65. For reference, all the sets Ive heard: TE Nova, TE zero, Letshouer S12 Pro, 7hz Legato, Artti R1, Tangzu Fudu, Kz Pr1 Pro. Used to own the Tangzu Waner and TE Hola, but gave them away. If you really wanted bass, cant go wrong with Legato. Artti R1 is still quite warm and bassy whilst still being more detailed and balanced if you dont want to lose much detail.
r/iems • Thoughts on Juzear Clear ->S08 is *not* warm. It's a planar. It needs more power. Trust me, there's a difference in sound between it and the Hola. A *big* one.
r/iems • Letshouer S08 is underwhelming, just marginally better than Truthear Hola for 4 times the price, suggest alternative please ->I'm fairly new to this territory. First I bought a truthhear hola and it's too flat and horribly big then I got kz Zsn pro x Pretty good and kind of liked it but I need a little more bass. I recently bought a shanling m1 plus and wanna pair something to it. Current options : 1.7h legato. 2.InAwaken Dawn Ms. 3.simgot ew300 hbb. 4.simgot ew300 standard. Are there any better options? or which one should I choose bw these? I get my IEMs from: Headphones zone Or Concept kart India🇮🇳
r/iems • Iem advice ->The S08 is my second-favourite IEM, with a huge caveat. They are really, really tip-sensitive. In fact they are the most tip-sensitive IEM I have found so far (out of about 50 that I own) with the only other 2 that come close being the Kefine Delci and the Hola. I have found that out of about 30 tips I've tried, they only sound good to me with Penon Liqueur Orange. Much to my annoyance, the black version doesn't sound the same, so I'm stuck with the stupid orange colour that doesn't match the IEM or my cable. Unfortunately tips are also ear-dependent, so just because those work for me, doesn't mean they will work for you. Might be worth a try though. I will say though that even with the right tips, the S08 sound is quite coloured and likely not for everyone. It's quite dark (some might say warm). The overall tonality is not unlike the Hola, although the Hola is a bit more neutral. Holy crap though, if you do get them sounding right, they are so much more resolving than the Hola and the imaging is incredible. The soundstage is really small though, everything is really intimate, but it has genuinely holographic layering within that small space. It's a perfect complement to my favourite IEM, the Simgot EA1000, which has pretty much the exact opposite sound signature & presentation. Ignore the people saying you need a new DAC/amp to get the right sound out of the S08, unless they are not getting loud enough. They need a bit more power than some IEMs, but not much. The problem is they have a very particular tuning that not everyone is going to like, and as mentioned that tuning is affected by tips far more than most IEMs. Incidentally the Hola is also a great IEM but another one that's very tip-sensitive. I find that they sound best on Tangzu Tang Sancai tips, but bear in mind that even at their best, they are all about being warm, relaxing and natural sounding. They have a big soundstage, but imaging isn't super precise and they are not detail monsters by any means. If you want something in the budget range that's pretty safe and not as tip-sensitive as any of these, I'd consider the Kiwi Ears Cadenza. It's very natural sounding with a slightly bassy tilt & is more resolving than the Hola. The Kefine Delci is also good & more resolving than the Cadenza, and although it's very tip-sensitive, it's different to the Hola and the S08 in that it sounds quite good with most (though not all) tips. It's just that the tips can change its presentation quite drastically from dark to v-shaped, vocal-forward/recessed etc., whereas the Hola and S08 just sound wrong unless you find exactly the right tips. I've also heard good things about the Moondrop Aria 2 but haven't heard it myself, so can't recommend it directly.
r/iems • Letshouer S08 is underwhelming, just marginally better than Truthear Hola for 4 times the price, suggest alternative please ->Truthear Hola. Great build quality, love the bassy but not overwhelmingly so (unlike 7hz Zero 2) tuning. Details are okay still, real shame they are discounted.
r/iems • Hidden Gems - What's the most underrated IEM in your collection? ->Hello everyone, I need help choosing new in-ear monitor from the jungle of models. I currently have a pair of Truthear Hola, which I like, a pair of KZ Castor (Harman) and above all, the best from my point of view, a pair of CCA Rhapsody (with switches set to 1000). I love the Rhapsody, but they are big and quickly uncomfortable in the ears. So, I need help choosing new in-ear headphones from the jungle of models to replace the Rhapsody. I mainly listen to Jazz (trios and small groups), voices and classical music. I like the bass to be present and precise, the mids not to be recessed, and the highs to be well defined but not aggressive. I use a Hiby R3 DAP or a Toppinx DX1 DAC with my PC. My budget is under 100 euros. I would like to find a model at least as good as the Rhapsody, but with smaller and more comfortable shells. Thank you in advance for your valuable advice. PS: I already tried the Kiwi Ears Cadenza, I didn't like it, and I listened to the Aoshida E20, I liked it, but I didn't think it added much compared to the Hola.
r/iems • Advice for a new IEM ->Thank you for your advice. Hola have a good size for me. Rhapsody are really big boys, if EA500LM are that big, it will be a nogo for me.
r/iems • Advice for a new IEM ->Hello, I use 1000 switches setting with the Rhapsody. And I also use a pair of KZ Castor (Harman) with 1100 setting. I like Castor and Hola, but I prefer the Rhapsody, it's more my taste, just it has very large shells like the Castor. For comfortable listening the best of these are the Hola, but the sound is more muffled. When I don't use an Iem I listen music on a pair of Q acoustics 3020i or a pair of 3030i I love the two. I also thought to S08, Delci and also the Sivga Que. But I don't know what is the best for acoustic instruments. Looking at the shell geometry, I think the Sivga are more comfortable than the other two. The other one I thought was the Simgot EA500 LM. But I don't want harsh treble or too metallic sound. And maybe it's the case with this pair, don't know. Thank you for your suggestion, it helps me.
r/iems • Advice for a new IEM ->I see lots of people voting for the Chu2. I only ever tried the OG CHU and found it's treble to be incredibly fatiguing. Is the Chu 2 any better? My go rec for a beginner iem is the TruthEar Hola. If their budget is a bit more the Twistura D-major is a heck of a value.
r/iems • Which iem's are the best out of these as beginner? ->Used my Truthear Hola for more than a year. Had to go for a type-c iem after upgrading my phone. Decided FiiO JD1 as its type-C version comes with an inbuilt Hi-Res dac.
r/iems • Got a new FiiO JD1 type-C ->If it's soundstage that you're looking for I'd suggest Hexa. A wide soundstage is its USP. And it will be a good upgrade. Personally, I wouldn't say sound separation and imaging is that good in either IEMs i.e. Hola & JD1. The latter has advantage in the price segment due to the inbuilt Hi-Res DAC only in the type-C model.
r/iems • Got a new FiiO JD1 type-C ->JD1 is louder and sharper due to the DAC. It has better bass. Hi-Res support is an added bonus. Hola sounds more balanced. It fits better and gives little to no fatigue. I like them both however let's see how far JD1 lasts, cables and everything.
r/iems • Got a new FiiO JD1 type-C ->All my previous earphones and headsets were nothing compared to Truthear Hola & FiiO JD1. In turn, these two are just basic compared to options available in higher price segment. Between these two I prefer Hola due to a more balanced sound. However, it has gone out of production.
r/iems • Got a new FiiO JD1 type-C ->As a truthear hola enjoyer i disagree.
r/iems • What are your audio unpopular opinions? ->Give it some time, check if the product is alright , try changing tips. I felt the same when I first recieved my holas as I was changing from a boat 225 ( extremely heavy on bass ). I felt it was weak and not powerful enough but after a few months i thought I grew on it. I recently tested them again and my mind was blown on how wrong my initial impression was, although the boat was heavier in bass compared to the holas, it lacked the details and soundstage the hola has and after burning in the holas they sound much better ( ok burn in is a controversial topic but it did work for me )
