Yup, I'm using custom molded earplugs with dual audio drivers built in, and it's a game changer.

I'm using Ultimate Ears, a UK based company. I live in Australia, got impressions taken by a local audiologist, who sent me a scan of them, which I then emailed to Ultimate Ears. It wasn't cheap, but for me it was worth it.

Nice to see people using audiophile iems, I used to write audio reviews and have 6 pair of ciems. The best pair I have has 8 drivers per side from Custom Art. My first pair came from ultimate ears. Custom iems go all the way up to $6000 it's nuts.

That was true 10 years ago, but now there are <$20 IEMs that sound phenomenal. I compared my new Zero:2 and Gate IEMs to my custom Ultimate Ears that cost me 20x more about a decade ago, and the cheap IEMs blew the UEs out of the water.

But a set of customs will work vastly better. Most of them get round the first bend of the canal and have moulding for the helix to grip to, so they actually stay put. They also sound much better than almost any generic I’ve ever tried. I’ve got sets of UE, JH and Cosmic - no generics have ever come close, outside of those made by brand who also do customs. They are one of the biggest ‘get the right kit’ pieces of equipment a musician can buy for themselves if a tour/production aren’t buying for them. Pretty much every person I’ve transitioned from generics or over ears to customs would never go back.

I balled out for some custom ultimate ears monitors and it’s worth every penny

My experience of helmet speakers from Sena is the sound quality isn’t good enough for music only for voice. Custom moulded in ear monitors from ultimate ear are great for music.
