"Offers better comfort than Tea Pro solely on the lighter resin shell; YMMV ... Thus, the lighter shell of the Top Pro works wonders, and the lighter cable is just cherry on top. ... In simple words, if you're certain your discomfort with the Tea Pro comes from the weight, getting the Top Pro would help."

"Very comfortable to my ears. I can almost sleep with them. They are light and not too big even though they are packed with drivers."

"I can play for hours with Origin just like the TOP."

"First thing I noticed was how clear everything was, very resolving for the price ... Class leading resolution, detail, and imaging ... I can easily pick out the instruments due to the superb layering and separation ... Amazing value to performance given that it's only $500 ... Endgame level technicalities only beaten by more expensive sets like the Prestige LTD, Crimson, CAD12, STORM, etc ... If you want to experience endgame levels of performance without breaking the bank then the TOP PROs would be it."

"the top pro blew the hype 4 and dusks out the water for me after i applied the ducbloke peq ... Bro!!! It took this iem to the next level. Top pro punches well above its weight in terms of detail retrieval and technical performance, it just had an alright tuning. Ducblokes tunning brings out the best in the top pro"

"top pro is perfect for gaming already and surround audio just makes it even better."

"How’s the top pro performing in game ... pretty good, but I think that they need dolby 7.1 surround enabled and an eq specifically tuned to enhance footstep audio. Then it would be perfect for fps gaming, now for just single player gaming, they're already perfect."

"fantastic technical seperation, clarity and soundstage"

"Clean, balanced, with a crispy/sparkly treble presentation, natural and clear ... First thing I noticed was how clear everything was, very resolving for the price ... Treble is sparkly and very crispy, not over boosted or acritical like the Dunu Braindamage, but still very clear and lifelike ... Main star of the show would be the treble presentation - very lifelike with its clarity, splashy, but doesn't over stay and become too airy ... for anyone else who likes a clean and crispy sound, these are an easy rec."

"The natural soundstage produced by Top Pros are soooooo wide that instruments and details just feels a little too separate and spaced apart. The CP145s just brought everything together and made the set 10x more enjoyable for me."

"They lack a bit in the mids/mid bass (which in comparison is excellent in the Odysseys) and sound a bit thin, but you can largely improve that using the Ducbloke PEQ with Poweramp (find him on youtube, subscribe to his channel and he'll send you the PEQ on a text file). ... The high treble now is less piercing. Again, this PEQ improve significantly how these sound to my ears even though you'll hear its effect on some genres more than others. ... In comparison the vocals in the Top Pros are less forward, and the distorted guitars are not as full and "raw"."

"If you want a more organic sound experience, I'd maybe go for the Odysseys, but if you are into a more analytical approach, these are great. Also, the Odysseys are better for lead distorted guitars and vocals, but I don't think it's a deficiency of the Top Pros, it's just something which the Odysseys do really well. ... Recommended for: EDM, JAZZ, CLASSICAL, (ROCK/METAL?) or any genre with great complexity and multiple sound layers. Probably not the best for vocal centric music and bright leaning recordings. ... In comparison the vocals in the Top Pros are less forward, and the distorted guitars are not as full and "raw"."

"Divinus Velvet Wide: Velvet on steroids with major downside. Unscientifically huge soundstage (for just swapping tips), treble sounded relaxing and airy, but bass is eviscerated. I've tested multiple times to confirm this isn't a random occurrence. Can't recommend when there is literally no bass."

"It has this Linsoul Tuck* where the bass cuts off and does not bleed into the lower mids which I’m not a fan off. ... Male vocals suffer from this as they lack power and authority."

"Low-end is well-separated and quick in the attack and decay with zero bass bleed, but can be bass light for some people if you listen to a lot of hiphop, edm, r&b, top pro wouldn't be my first pick for that"

they're still a great set but i'd just wait for 11.11 and get the xenns top pro for 400$\~ or less at which point you're essentially at endgame

its more technical+detailed and having better treble. wouldn't categorize it as boring though they graph relatively similarly in the bass with tea pro having at touch more midbass

Tried the Top Pro just for fun, but turns out I really like its tonality. Now I’m confused about which one to sell. IE600 → more grand sound (feels like a true flagship IEM), better bass quality, more solid build, comfortable even for side sleeping. Top Pro → excels in separation, resolution, and micro details. But the resin build feels hollow, kinda like the Moondrop Dark Saber, which makes me worried if it falls.

I recently got a IE600 from Amazon prime day at half price. And my Top pro that was on preorder for more than a month also just arrived. I like both, the top pro is a lot easier to listen to and I think is still the better set overall. Although the IE600’s bass in combination with its detail retrieval is really amazing too and the small size makes it very comfy. I’ll keep both

While the Tea Pro was a solid purchase with great build quality and solid tuning, it wasn’t my endgame. Top Pro was released not long after my acquisition of Tea Pros, and I wanted it since the FR looks promising for what I’m achieving by tip-rolling on the Tea Pro. Finally managed to sell the old set in exchange for a spot for the Top Pro, the originally planned tip-rolling write up now turns into this full-fledged review. As an ex-Tea Pro owner, this write up will include direct comparisons with the Tea Pro, as well as the "extended" version of the tip-rolling experiences thanks to the better fit on the new set. **TL;DR** * Great craftsmanship as always; packaging and accessories received a minor upgrade * Offers better comfort than Tea Pro solely on the lighter resin shell; YMMV * Highly musical and meta-natural sound with great technicalities * Worthy upgrade from Tea Pro if you focus on resolution and detail * Stock tips are fine; generally pairs better with balanced or slightly bassy tips * Astounding value; truly endgame-worthy set # Packaging, accessories & build quality Xenns has always been pretty solid in terms of the whole unboxing experience. Everything is presented tidily when you unbox the set. Top Pro comes with a larger rectangle case like the OG Top, and the 3.5 to 6.3mm adapter is back. Three sets of tips now comes in their own box with proper labelling *(finally)*. The stock cable is now a 4-wire cable with very soft cable sleeves, and feels lighter than Tea Pro's stock cable. Interchangeable termination uses the same system as other Xenns IEM, now with black housings instead of silver. Overall unboxing experience is solid, and Xenns aren't cheaping out on accessories. [Faceplate\(s\) of my Top Pro. Lots of red on the right piece](https://preview.redd.it/cnov9oyt0p8f1.jpg?width=6112&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=848d8d08d11d5615011fc133a6a4bef03347fe39) Top Pro features both a resin shell & faceplate. Faceplate on the each set of Top Pro seems to have some variations, so each set will look unique. The clear black shell has randomly placed speckles on it, and each set has their own number coded on the shell. Pressure relief has no mesh, unlike the Tea Pros. Build quality is flawless as always. # Fit & comfort The Top Pro has the same shell as the Tea Pro but in resin. While I previously mentioned the nozzle serves an important role in fitment, weight and shape is equally as important if you use the IEMs for long sessions, and nearly impossible to demo for this while in stores. Tea Pros does fit and stay in my ears, but eventually the area near the helix would feel slight pain due to the heavy shell putting weight on it. Thus, the lighter shell of the Top Pro works wonders, and the lighter cable is just cherry on top. In simple words, if you're certain your discomfort with the Tea Pro comes from the weight, getting the Top Pro would help. Otherwise, your bad experiences from the Tea Pro will likely transfer to the Top Pro. [Shell & nozzle comparisons](https://preview.redd.it/sn17aydy0p8f1.png?width=1225&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ead9b353e8b7de3aeeb4491fa1e07e72de514c6) From an objective standpoint, fit and comfort on the Top Pros will be a 6.5. Housing is still big, but the lighter shell does help with comfort. Nozzle is around 6mm thick and the length is relatively short, but the nozzle angle can take some improvements. Take a look at how Moondrop or Linsoul brand(s) angle their nozzles that fits more people. Again, tip-rolling will be essential if you want the best fit, and I highly recommend to demo the set first. From my experience, shorter tips or tips with recessed nozzle is the best in terms of comfort, as they keep the IEM closer to your ear. # Testing methodologies & sound impressions I listen to a mix of J-Pop, Canto-pop and EDM, which have vastly different ways of interpreting sound. EDMs are generally energetic yet clinical, canto-pop tends to be more lush and vocal-centric, and J-Pop is… a bit of everything I guess. Neutral sounding gear has been growing on me with the acquisition of the Zero:RED in 2023, and that has became the blueprint of my preferred tuning. For source(s), I’m sticking with smooth and neutral sounding gear for a "reference" setup to accurately reflect the tuning and capabilities of the set. Testing is carried out with the following gear: * Astell&Kern SE100 * PC -> SMSL RAW-MDA1 * Apple Music Lossless & local ALAC/ FLAC files As mentioned, the Tea Pros aren't my endgame. The main reason boils down to the occasionally boomy mid-bass, the lack of "air" presence I desired, and comfort issues. The Top Pro was a **blind buy** based on the official FR, and my positive experience with the Tea Pro. After using the set extensively for the past few weeks, I can assure the set does live up to my expectations. Low end of the Top Pro has opted for a sub-bass focused tuning. For genres that I listen to, there is sufficient bass with good texture and rumble, and I really enjoy ballads with less mid-bass. The tucked mid-bass combined with the boosted treble gives you a perception of the set being light on bass if you come from the more mid-bass heavy tunings *(e.g. Bassy neutral/ V-shaped/ Warm)*, but it’s just a temporary perception and takes some time getting used to it. In fact, the Top Pro features some of the tamest mid-bass out of the currently hyped & popular sets, which prevents the hatred mid-bass bleed similar to how the Project META is tuned. [FRs of the current popular sets in different price bracket\(s\)](https://preview.redd.it/lttm32u51p8f1.png?width=1978&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a56a95df7895d12bcd7f62a3cdb2ba4c009f342) I'm unsure if this is the signature Xenns in-house sound, but the midrange on the Top Pro *(as well as Tea Pro)* sounded so nice. It is similar to IEF Neutral 2020/2023 with an additional scoop at 6k to prevent hissy vocals. For context, I have always liked IEF Neutral vocals on the Zero:REDs as they never sounded too shouty or forward in the mix, and the less boosted 1-4k doesn't really show distinguishable coloring. I'm glad this approach of midrange tuning has became the norm these days, for the better good. Vocals on the Top Pro may not be the smoothest, the most intimate or the most lush, but it’s one of the most natural and inoffensive tuning I’ve heard. Top Pro's treble energy and presence is on the higher side, which helps with the perceived resolution and brilliance. While the overall treble region is boosted, Xenns opted for a docile approach which prevents sibilance, incoherence or the infamous “BA-timbre”. Peak(s) found in the upper treble region helps with the perceived transparency and airiness. Upon listening to J-core, the synthesized instruments, effects and audio samples sounded energetic, concise yet non-fatiguing on the Top Pro. My only nitpick being the treble of the Top Pro is on the faster side, and I generally preferred to have a longer decay and more prominent resonance. Overall, I'm satisfied with the treble performance, but treble-sensitive peeps may still found the treble too spicy on this set, or even the Tea Pro. On technicalities, the Top Pro has great resolution and exhibits superb capabilities at micro detail retrieval. While the soundstage isn't massive, it sounded holographic and organic, with great imaging, positioning and separation. There really isn't much I can nitpick on techs for this set. I’m not a EQ guy, so it will not be responsible for me to talk about EQ scaling without sufficient experience and knowledge. Overall, this is a natural sounding all-rounder set with awesome techs for its price. While the Top Pro is technically a U-shaped set, I am still going to call it a neutral set based on the current market trend. # Worthy upgrade from Tea Pro? [See that mid-bass tuck?](https://preview.redd.it/pam2oqhb1p8f1.png?width=1978&format=png&auto=webp&s=a5e22e22068c355aaa216a897beb8c8f4f356313) Looking at the FR tells most of the story. Top Pro misses the mid-bass shelf, but traded more energy on the treble and "air" region. Such changes makes the set sounded cleaner and more technical, but doesn't trade off naturalness and musicality that I praise on the Tea Pro. Resolution are certainly better on the Top Pro, but the differences on soundstage and imaging are less prominent. For techs and physical comfort, this is a worthy upgrade, but tuning wise it is at most a side-grade. Top Pro will be my pick if you want frequently listen to complex tracks and various genres, or you want more extended female vocals, while Tea Pro will still be my pick if you like thicker sound, or mostly listen to bass-heavy and beat-centric genres like Rap or Hip-hop. Strictly for gaming or vibes, I still prefer the Tea Pro solely on the boosted mid-bass that contributes to better immersion. Top Pro is the more sensible choice for me since gaming isn't my first priority, plus the cleaner sound and better techs will be more enjoyable in the long term. You can’t go wrong with both. # Tip-rolling [Tip-rolling is becoming an addiction...](https://preview.redd.it/2t1c817n1p8f1.jpg?width=7008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8a83ac333004bc7aa063142e446b8febc504aed) This is still going to be a lengthy part. **Some opinions can be carried over to Tea Pro if you own those instead.** I've spent way too much on tips within the last 2 months, and I'll share my thoughts so you can spend less. However, always start with stock tips before spending. Out of the stock tips, I prefer the Set 1 since they are essentially carbon copy of the AET07, which are some neutral sounding tips. In case of tip-rolling, use these as a reference point and determine your preference from here. Out of the ear tips I've tested, these are my personal favorites: * **Divinus Velvet:** Classic Divinus in-house sound with a sense of extra space for transparency and velvety treble, but these has better bass response than other Divinus tips. Vocals sounded slightly too forwarding for my liking, while the improved soundstage helps with imaging and separation. Velvety material helps with reducing ear pressure. My favorite out of Divinus's offerings. * **Final Type E TWS:** An accidental purchase from my Japan trip last month. Top tier comfort IMO, thanks to the short design and soft material. Bass presence and texture is on par with stock tips, vocals are positioned adequately, and the treble is well extended. These also offer great separation and slightly bigger soundstage. Black version has more mid-bass and vocal presence, while the clear ones sounded more transparent but comes with slight tinniness on cymbals. I prefer the black version on the Top Pro, and the clear version on the Tea Pro. For 990yen/ 2 pairs, these are an absolute steal. * **NF Audio MS42:** Another set of comfy tips thanks to the short design. Sound wise, MS42 delivers a neutral sound profile where nothing is trying to take the spotlight. While soundstage and separation is just average, it never sounded congested. This results in one of the most coherent and laid-back sound I've heard. My only nitpick being the treble extension is only decent, luckily the Top Pro has enough treble extension by default to cover this flaw. While you may not heard of this brand before *(so do I)*, but these tips are an absolute banger. For just $4 a pair, the MS42 is putting lots of pricier tips to shame. * **Nostalgia Audio XWB:** XWB stands for *eXtra Wide Bore*, and these has some of the widest non-tapered bore I’ve seen. Sound wise, the XWB slightly thickens note weight, highlights bass presence and smoothes out the treble without reducing the presence. Combined with non-forwarding vocals, these sounded incredibly clean, transparent and coherent. Imaging and separation seems to have slight improvements too. XWB offers a unique blend of sound alterations that is easy to like, and a must-have if you collect tips. Here are the ones that I’ve tested and didn’t make it to the list. Some of the cult favorites go here due to bad fitment, or they just sounded ass. Take these with a grain of salt: * **Acoustune AEX07/ AEX70:** Both are cleaner AET07. AEX07 has better note weight, improved bass texture and intimate vocals. AEX70 has thinner note weight and sounded more spacious. Both have better separation and treble extension than AET07. AEX70 uses a soft material that benefits from up-sizing. * **Dunu S&S:** Still doesn't fit. Can't comment on sound. * **Divinus Velvet Wide:** Velvet on steroids with major downside. Unscientifically huge soundstage (for just swapping tips), treble sounded relaxing and airy, but bass is *eviscerated*. I've tested multiple times to confirm this isn't a random occurrence. Can't recommend when there is literally no bass. * **Divinus Prism:** Not just Velvet Wides in LSR. Prisms are taller and reminds me of S&S with the barrel shape. Overall. A less quirky and more natural sounding Velvet Wides that still have bass. I’ll stick with standard Velvets if you want to try the Divinus in-house sound. * **Final Type E:** Solid pick on virtually any IEM. Natural timbre, low-to-mid emphasis, and tames treble. Slightly colored but more laid-back than stocks. * **NiceHCK C04:** Overall sounded cleaner than stock, has slightly thicker note weight, non-forwarding vocals, and some extra treble sparkle. Cost-effective upgrade from stock tips. * **Radius Deep Mount Zone:** Another purchase from my Japan trip. Comparable to standard Velvet with even less coloring and more transparent. Great sounding tips, but doesn't fit well on my ears. * **SpinFit OMNI:** Similar to Type E TWS but sounded less transparent and more congested. Difficult to install. * **SpinFit W1:** V-shaped sound without major downside. Works better on IEMs with thicker sound IMO. * **Tangzu Tang Sancai Wide:** Simply sturdier and shallow fit Spring Tips. I just don’t think inverse V-shaped sound fits the Top Pro. # Good value? Endgame worthy? The Top Pro is priced at $500, $30 cheaper than its predecessor. For the amount of branded drivers you're getting, as well as the acoustic performance, the Top Pro offers astonishing value for a $500 set. I haven't tried modern kilobuck sets myself, but reputable reviewer(s) claims the Top Pro competes with kilobuck IEMs in terms of techs, and that alone sets the new bar for what this price bracket should offer. The smooth yet dynamic tuning, premium unboxing experience and craftsmanship from Xenns aren't missing either. I got mine for $420 USD, but the Top Pro is well worth the full MSRP. The fact that there is barely any set in-stock *(at this moment)* shows audiophiles around the world are loving the set. I placed my order through their official TaoBao store, and I still need to wait for 4 days before they ship out my set due to limited supply. This is a proper endgame set, even more so than the Tea Pros. I'm not talking about sub-$500 endgame, but actual endgame like the $1000 bracket that was commonly acknowledged as endgame tier. Though there is no bleeding edge techs like BCD or MPD being used, technicalities is more than sufficient outside of the most demanding genres *(e.g. classical)*, and the tuning from Xenns is refined enough to sound good on any genre. For most people out there, it is not sensible to spend a double for just 5-10% better techs or tuning *(which is highly subjective)*. I can confidently say this will be my endgame set, especially when I don't see myself itching for kilobuck set(s) in the near future. Tip-rolling still allows me to fine tune the sound, and the genres I listen to doesn’t really benefit from TOTL techs. Smoothness, coherence and naturalness is key for an enjoyable experience. Future purchase would likely focus on cheaper IEMs with distinctive tunings or looks for collection's sake. # Closing thoughts Xenns nailed it again with the Top Pro. Neutral tuning and tier-breaking techs, combined with their esteemed unboxing experience and craftsmanship, makes them an easy to recommend set. While Xenns isn’t the biggest or the most hyped brand, what they’re doing are being recognized and supported by audiophiles. Again, I respect their approach of dropping banger releases through proper release cycles instead of flooding the market with new release every few weeks. While the Tea Pro doesn’t sound much alike to its predecessors, Top Pro does seem to be a proper sequel to the OG Top. Historically, the Top lineup wasn’t meant to be a heavily flavored set, but a flagship killer style performant all-rounder that can stand the test of time. Top Pro being the successor of the Top after 2 years, and it certainly lives up to its name. Feel free to ask me anything related to the set and share your thoughts!

Based findings. This set does sound a little bright on the first listen, especially when I'm coming from the Tea Pro. I do find myself slightly dipping into the treble-head territory recently, and upgrading to the Top Pro was just a huge W. I might get some balanced Sancai later and give them a shot!

I currently have the Tea Pro and Top Pro, and I'm looking for my next upgrade - mainly for single-player / immersive games. Is there a noticeable difference between the Monarch MKIV and the Top Pro? Or do you have any recommendations? The Top Pro is decent, but the BA timbre feels like a glass ceiling. I often feel that its sound is *almost* perfect, but just missing that final touch. So I'm considering IEMs with EST or planar drivers to see if that would make a meaningful difference. Thanks :)

**Bought this unit myself** [Full Review here](https://youtu.be/GCVKb8bbdFg) ***Check out full review for in-depth comparisons*** [My Ranking List](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZHVib50XFQW4up3SwOZUTbI-hZB6Ir5LX6XnZblIM6o/edit?gid=0#gid=0) **Overall sound:** Clean, balanced, with a crispy/sparkly treble presentation, natural and clear * First thing I noticed was how clear everything was, very resolving for the price * Treble is sparkly and very crispy, not over boosted or acritical like the Dunu Braindamage, but still very clear and lifelike * Vocals pop out slightly with a sparkle/airiness to them, clear and clean, great for female artists * Low-end is well-separated and quick in the attack and decay with zero bass bleed, but can be bass light for some people if you listen to a lot of hiphop, edm, r&b, top pro wouldn't be my first pick for that, I'd go Odyssey or Astral before it, or Thieaudio Origin * There's enough low-end for it to not sound thin or anemic, but not a bassy set by anymeans * Main star of the show would be the treble presentation - very lifelike with its clarity, splashy, but doesn't over stay and become too airy * But because of the slight treble tilt the TOP PRO doesn't scale as well - mid volume set around 65dbs for kpop, jpop, hiphop and more energetic genres... mid-high volume around 75dbs with slower tracks like indie and acoustic/ballads **Technical Performance:** * Class leading resolution, detail, and imaging * I can easily pick out the instruments due to the superb layering and separation * Competes at $1K with the Monarch MK3, not as smooth and airy, but crispier and sharper * Amazing value to performance given that it's only $500 * Endgame level technicalities only beaten by more expensive sets like the Prestige LTD, Crimson, CAD12, STORM, etc **Build & Fit:** * Resin build with flashy faceplate that you may or may not like that's down to preference * Light and average size overall, fits me well with average ears, not as thick as Monarch **Accessories & Packaging:** * 3 different sets of tips * Sturdy leather case that gives off a more premium feel * Cable is sturdy in a silver white/gel like material * Interchangable 3.5/4.4/6.5mm * Not Volare levels of unboxing experience, but competitive at its price **Final Ranking & Recommendation:** * Tonality: 8.5/10 * Tech: 8.5/10 * Overall: 8.5/10 ***RECOMMENDED*** If you want to experience endgame levels of performance without breaking the bank then the TOP PROs would be it. A step up in technical performance from its younger sibling the Tea Pros, and a good sidegrade to it sound wise if you're looking for a different flavor of "Tea". Although, if you're looking for a bassy upgrade to the Tea Pros then the Thieaudio Origins would be better since the TOP PRO is a pass for most bass lovers due to the tamer low-end... BUT for anyone else who likes a clean and crispy sound, these are an easy rec. Another W from XENNS.

100%! Literally just using for a reference and to PFL, lot more compact than my Naumann’s for headphones. For this use case any cheap buds would even work as you say. This is just the stock cable btw but looking at alternatives. Next set will probs be customs.

I have the galaxy buds 2 pro, hype 4 ($400 iem), moondrop dusk ($400 iem), and the xenns top pro ($500), along with a few $50-150 iems. Cna tell you rn that rhe galaxy buds 2 pro perform better than most iems below $100. Its my favorite wireless earbuds too, and i ve teied many, includijg the airpods 2 pro. To answer your question, yes iems can sound much better than the galaxy buds 2 pro, but the ones that do will cost the same or much more. You can try looking into the kiwi ears4 if you want more base and better sound quality than the buds 2 pro. They cost around $150, but i think the galaxy buds 2 pro have pretty good bass though, but i am using spinfits 1 eartips and I downgraded the firmware to the own with the best combination of sound quality and ANC. If the bass isn't there for you, try switching eartips and doing some eq.

Got back into Iems recently, ended up picking up xenns top pros. I plugged them in to listen to family ties by Kendrick and Baby Keem song that I really enjoyed prev. But then this static buzz comes on in my right IEM with the opening of the song. Feeling of dread hits me as I think I broke my top pros after 2 weeks. I switch cables test other sources everything still there. Eventually switch to 7hz timeless II thinking my xenns are broken, but no still there. Whoever mixed the song left static buzzing in the track. Now im left both happy that my top pros are not broken and annoyed at the audio engineer of the track. Should I go back to low fidelity equipment to enjoy music again?

Yea definitely the move. Gonna go look for some fun low fidelity Iems :) I couldn’t get rid of the top pros if I wanted to, love them too much on other tracks. And yea assuming priorities for these tracks where to get them out and have impact on the scene/beef over polished masterpieces, which is fair enough.

Saw your review on FB haha well said! Imo it's one of the benchmarks for that price bracket even though I was a bit disappointed with it's vocal performance, but it's technical performance is really top of the class. I think for better bass quality/quantity and vocals the Oracle MK3 would be a better set but for those who don't want EST treble, the Top Pro is as good as it gets.

As somebody who has auditioned all the aful iems, owns aful 5, and owns xenns top pro and tea pro, here is my ranking (topdown): 1)Xenns Top Pro (Very good bass and subbass, fantastic technical seperation, clarity and soundstage. V shaped) 2)Xenns Tea Pro (Fantastic bass and subbass, great technical seperation, good clairity and soundstage. Warm tonality. V shaped) 3)Aful 5 + 2 (Bass is quite good, subbass is average. Decent technical seperation, average soundstage. Warm tonality with slight V shape). 4)Aful 5 (Bass is relatively good, subbass is not very present. Average technical seperation and soundstage. Warm tonality with slight v shape that is lesser than 5+ 2.) Conclusion: If you already have the tea pro, getting the aful 5+2 is considered a downgrade imo as it is nowhere in terms of bass and technical seperation compared to the Tea Pro. I suggest considering the Top Pro, Aful Cantor and Aful Dawn X. I am very satisfied with my 2 xenns, and the cantor and dawn are on my wishlist.

I’m using these with tangzu sancais balance and divinus velvet and absolutely loving the sound. Worthwhile upgrade over the tea pro if you are not a bass head. I thought they were too bright for me when I first got them but I released that’s just the analytical sound of the TANCHJIM luna and when I used them with my btr7, they sounded much smoother and musical. I do prefer the tea pros with the Luna though since the extra bass compliments the lunas sound signature

Alright I've decided to write this review after one month of use since there are not many of this IEM yet. I'll try to keep this as short as I can but it is my first review of an IEM (fairly new to this hobby) so please bear with me. I am a classically trained pianist and bit of a metalhead too. I think I have reasonably good ears. What I have tried so far (other than wireless earbuds): 7hz Timeless 2, Softear Volume S (returned them both), Ziigaat Odyssey (kept them). So please consider that I haven't tried any of the really high end stuff yet, like Thieaudio Monarch, Subtonic Storm etc.. Sources: Zenfone 10, Hiby R4 Eva, FiiO BTR17 (what I use on a daily basis). I didn't have un unlimited budget therefore I did a lot of research in order to get a good all-rounder and potentially endgame. I bought the Xenns Top Pro on a Linsoul discount (pre-order) for 350 Euros (around 400 USD). Standard prize is 500 USD. They are very good, although not perfect. First the not so good: \- The treble could be better. It's not that it's bad, in fact it is very detailed, but there's definitely some metallic quality to it (BA timbre?). In fact, I still I find the cymbals a bit unnatural depending on the track. I reckon I am a bit treble sensitive but I do enjoy details in the highs. \- They lack a bit in the mids/mid bass (which in comparison is excellent in the Odysseys) and sound a bit thin, but you can largely improve that using the Ducbloke PEQ with Poweramp (find him on youtube, subscribe to his channel and he'll send you the PEQ on a text file). This PEQ (you can also do it by yourself obviously) makes the TOP PROs sound fuller. The sub bass which is already good now sounds amazing and the mid bass comes out nicely too. The high treble now is less piercing. Again, this PEQ improve significantly how these sound to my ears even though you'll hear its effect on some genres more than others. I'll admit that I have considered returned the Top Pros at some point because of the treble, but my ears have kind of adapted now, so my advice is don't be too hasty, give them some time. Also, in this hobby, if you don't want to spend millions, I think you'll have to accept a compromise somewhere. That's pretty much it for the not so good honestly. Now the good: \- Great clarity and resolution. Separation between instruments is also amazing. \- Imaging (I guess what they call the spatial location of instruments) and soundstage are quite astounding too. \- Excellent bass/sub bass (even though I am not a bass head). \- Can handle very busy tracks with great detail. \- Very comfortable to my ears. I can almost sleep with them. They are light and not too big even though they are packed with drivers. I think they look great too if you don't mind something a bit flashy. \- Overall great price/quality ratio. I can see why people say they punch way above their weight, especially in technicalities. \- Cable is fine. For tips I am using Spinfit W1 at the moment but the stock tips are ok too. There are 3 kinds but I barely noticed a difference between them. I just ordered Divinus Velvet regular (I have been told that the wide bore kills the bass). If you want a more organic sound experience, I'd maybe go for the Odysseys, but if you are into a more analytical approach, these are great. Also, the Odysseys are better for lead distorted guitars and vocals, but I don't think it's a deficiency of the Top Pros, it's just something which the Odysseys do really well. While with the Odysseys I tend to appreciate more the overall experience of what I am listening to, with the Top Pros I appreciate the superior clarity and find myself focusing on a particular layer/instrument at a time. By the way, Odysseys have some weirdly spicy treble too, if you want a more relaxed IEM the Ziigaat LUNA could be the way to go. (haven't tried them personally though) In conclusion, if you look for a good all rounder (potentially endgame?) with great technicalities, and don't mind a spicy and slightly metallic treble (especially with cymbals), these are great. If you are looking for a smoother listening experience and don't mind sacrificing a bit of clarity, I'd say you'll find better options elsewhere. Recommended for: EDM, JAZZ, CLASSICAL, (ROCK/METAL?) or any genre with great complexity and multiple sound layers. Probably not the best for vocal centric music and bright leaning recordings. Other IEMs which I'd be very curious to try in this price range: Crinacle Dusk and Mega5EST. Sound taste is subjective, but I'll answer questions if you have any... Bye!

Get a used Xenns Top Pro IMO. I mainly mess with Kilobuck/Summit level stuff but the Top Pros have an exceptional stage for the price. Keep in mind, I personally think if a headphone/IEM has a larrger sound stage, you're not going to get as intimate feeling like other sets. This is why I typically go for something with a good soundstage (rather then great)

Except for Comfort/Accessories/Build quality(that can be either better and sturdier materials or branded drivers) what you often get is a more fine tuned Iem. A single DD Driver is often limited to a certain degree what is possible with the tuning. If you check out some graphs you often see these peeks in the treble which can't be fixed with only one DD.  With more an different drivers you can tune it easier and make it smoother. You can eq and make it better but you have to do it by ear (up until 6k you can use AutoEq and it works pretty good). The treble on the graphs are not correct therefore AutoEq  won't help. You can in general increase or decrease the amount of treble (with a highshelf filter) but its harder to fix the peeks, add more treble energy in the parts where it lacks (which can sometimes be in the 10db range but it's not necessarily recommended to that because drivers have limitations -especially cheaper ones - and adding more and more will cause distortion) and still make it sound smooth.  Is it worth it though to spend 5x more compared to the chu 2? If you want a better executed Treble, better build quality and accessories than definitely yes ( I'm thinking about the letshuoer S12 pro for a more exciting and detailed treble which you u can get during sales for around $100 or something like the Truthear Pure which has a smoother and more relaxed treble.) Is it worth it though to spend 25x more compared to the chu2? Now we are in a territory where value isn't really a factor anymore. Up until 200-$300 you can still argue in some cases that the value is still decent. But at $500 no Iem is worth the price if you can get the Moondrop chu2 for $20. Dont get me wrong. No $100 Iem sounds 5x better than the chu2 but like I said in the paragraph above the other things make it worth it. At the $500 price tag you don't get that much better better build quality, accessories or Soundquality compared to the $100 price tag. It will be definitely be better overall but it's not a good value (if we only think about Soundquality). Something like the Xenns top pro ( 2 DD and 8Bas)  has noticeably higher r&d costs as well as material and labor/packaging costs.  You are paying for let's say 20% better Soundquality $480 more.  Not great value but its better. The $200-300 range is where you can get close enough to the endgame territory and is only slightly behind the behind the $500 price bracket. Everything above $500 is the last 1% (excluding the tuning preferences. Only talking about technical performance)

It's the best set Mangird/Xenns has put out to date, and a clear upgrade from the original Xenns Top. The Tea Pro was excellent (and still worthy of praise), but the Top Pro is stellar. It's an S-tier IEM on my list and will remain in my collection for a long time to come. It's currently taking playtime away from several kilobuck and upper midfi IEMs in my rotation.

If you want an all ‘rounder, the Mangird Tea Pro is the best option in your price range. That said, even with dozens of IEMs, from budget to summit-fi sets, I run the EM6L 90% of the time. The Tea Pro is markedly better when it comes to media consumption, but the EM6L is no slouch there either, being somewhat mid-forward, but with excellent bass and treble and very strong imaging for a budget set. Whatever you choose, it’s best to avoid sets with emphasized lower frequencies as it will narrow staging and impact the clarity of your mids. Upper mids and treble are where most gaming cues live and is thus the most important area of the frequency range for gaming — hence why the EM6L is such a good option at its price. Other sets I’ve run for games that I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed; Thieaudio Hype 4, Crinicle Dusk, Xenns Top Pro, Meze Alba, Truthear Blue and Blue 2, Letshuoer S08 and S12 2024.

>But as soon as you get in range of the price of the Fiio FT1, I haven't heard an iem that can compete with it for under $500. Full disclaimer, I love and recommend the FT1s often. I agree they're one of the best budget headphones the hobby has ever seen and it's unlikely to be unseated for a very long time. I've posted this [image](https://imgur.com/a/bokeh-ft1-duGXiR5) a few times, because I've often had to back up the claim that I'm running the FT1 alongside much more expensive closed back sets, like the ZMF Bokeh, Focal Radiance and Azurys, etc. I've even started recommending it as a budget production/mixing headphone over options like the MDR-M1. The FT1 takes EQ surprisingly well and makes a great budget option for beginning engineers. But, I would argue the premise that IEMs provide better bang for your buck hasn't changed. The FT1 has subverted expectations where the headphone market is concerned, but it hasn't disrupted the budget IEM segment, not by a long shot. The Letshuoer S08, for instance, doesn't just compete with but outperforms the FT1; it presents the same neutral/slightly warm-tilted tuning, but with superior technical performance and much more overhead for EQ. The Simgot EM6L, not as popular now as its been outshined by recency bias, is still a phenomenal value for its price. And IEMs in a similar price range to the FT1, like the Meze Alba, Performer 5+2, or Ziigaat Odyssey, are more competent than the FT1 out of the box and align well with the "all 'rounder" tuning that has made the FT1 so popular. And under $500? The recent Xenns Top Pro is $499, and walks circles around the FT1, being one of the best midfi IEMs the market has seen in years and easily Xenns best release, competing with some of my kilobuck sets, both in tuning and technical performance. The FT1 is a fantastic budget headphone, without question. It has disrupted the budget market and is the easy recommendation for someone looking to spend $300 or less for an over ear set. However, I'd still recommend several IEMs over the FT1 if format didn't matter and someone was looking to get the best bang for their buck.

It’s as technically capable, which says a lot for a $500 IEM, but I wouldn’t necessarily claim it was outright better. Their tuning is different and will suit different preferences; the MK3 is a warmer set, whereas the Top Pro is more neutral with a bass boost. Will depend on your library or listening preferences, but the fact that a $500 set is truly competing with a kilobuck set is wild. I’ve seen other sets get this kind of attention before, punching above their weight, but many of those claims were either overly optimistic or were using hyperbole to make a point. The Top Pro, however, is essentially a kilobuck set at half the price.

Amazing comprehensive review! Came at the perfect time for me. I’m severely struggling with the fit of my Tea Pro’s (waiting for new tips to arrive tomorrow), and the new build on the Top Pro’s sounds nicer from your description. Appreciate the side-by-side shell imaging too, great addition to the write up 👌🏻 Sound wise had no real issues (near perfect) except I’d want a slight adjustment of 1-2db with the lower mids and small increases in the treble/air region. How much brighter are the Top Pro’s leaning with the bass region lowered? Seems they’ve made the changes I’d want but I’d wana keep the bass of the Tea Pro’s. Can’t find any IEM like this :/ I listen to a lot female centric stuff, 60/40 male (which doesn’t seem to be impacted with IEM tuning as much) AND upbeat hip hop, rnb, dance etc. and hard rock/metal. I just wanted a one and done set. These sound great for half my library 😂 Can get them for $380 if I can avoid the VAT from Aliexpress but would still need another IEM. Are the upper mids noticeably better on these?

#1 Personally, I'm going to have to go with the Xenns Mangrid Top Pro. For the price, you truly are getting an End Game quality IEM. Staging, Detail Retrieval, Textured bass and Vocals that you don't only hear, but feel. Non Fatiguing set that I can listen to for extended periods without issue. You truly get lost in the music with this set. #2 Runner up for me would have to be the Juzear X Defiant. I honestly thought it was just hype. But for 89 bucks, this set just completely punches above its price tag as well. It is a great casual or starter set to have for recommendations or any collection. Balanced and comes with a great tuning. What surprised me the most was just how crisp the vocals were without being muddied by the bass. #3 Is actually the IEM I listen to the most. The Kiwi Ears Astral. This set is a masterpiece for the price. The standard EQ is amazing, but this set just EQs so well that it can transform into whatever you ask it to. Want bass? EQ It to match the Punch Audio Martillo. Want an amazing vocal and technical set? EQ it to match the Mystic 8 *highly recommend* It's been a great year for IEMs so far. Price to Performance has definitely been the theme this year.

The shells are comfortable on both, but the mega5 i only had for a brief moment when someone let me try it. It was comfortable to me but I have medium-large ears and have no issues with most iems. Top Pro is very comfortable for the driver count.

I actually bought mine on sale 3 days after launch haha! Bought em for 395$ from Linsoul Aliexpress store with 3€ import fee ( lol ) Just got em, they are super solid. Very nice texture, separation and clarity. Still prefer my ISN EBC80, especially in the treble and tonality, the Bone Conduction+ EST make them sound more organic and natural but this will be a close second with a slightly different tune. This sounds like Elysian Pilgrim on Steroids

Comfort wise Top Pro is the clear winner, smaller shells, smaller nozzle. Sound wise hands down the ISN EBC80. I get enjoyment, pure enjoyment factor while listening on EBC. Top Pro was technical, had great layering and separation. But the sound was too dry for me. It has this Linsoul Tuck* where the bass cuts off and does not bleed into the lower mids which I’m not a fan off. Male vocals suffer from this as they lack power and authority. Female Vocals and electronic genres should sound great on top Pro. But my library is classic rock, hard rock, some metal, indie etc mostly. About 90%. EBC80 has much more mid bass, sounds fuller, more organic and simply put, Fun. While not lacking the technical department at all, and EST drivers > BA treble. No BA timbre here at all. Sold Top Pro to a friend of mine.

If you don’t plan on EQing— The Top Pro is great for clarity, separation, and detail. The Tea Pro probably has about 85% of it, but the bass is a lot better. Depending on your preferences, both are pretty solid. I’m a sucker for detail so the Top Pro definitely scratched the itch over the Tea Pro for me.

Moondrop Chu, and no. The Kato is the only Moondrop iem I still have and use. I liked the Aria but gave it to a friend to try to get him into iems (I failed). The Chu was good enough to get me into iems, but not good enough to keep me listening. I don't even know where they are now, lol. Of the early iems that I bought, I only have and listen to the Truthear Hexa (lifeless but decent, with wonderful imaging) and that Truthear Harmon-tuned one that Crinacle did with the subwoofer (I forget the name). It is fatiguing, but it is exciting until it wears me down. Good for techno. I listen mostly to the Aful P5, the Chopin, the Letshour S12, and the Kato now. Sometimes at home, I listen to the P8 and the Xenn Mangrid Top (they are too expensive to lug around with me--I have a $200 limit on iems that I'm willing to take in my backpack).

I love how clean the Titans are and since they have just a few BAs and a DD the "coherency" is there, and much better then my old Xenns Top,Up.. granted a half as expensive pairs but im shocked actually how good and "quality" these sound and such a massive upgrade in all regards not just the bass in my opinion.

Idk m8.. my Xenns Mangird Top are much better than all the <100$ iems I have.. then again I got the Novas for 95$ on 11.11 sales and the novas are actually just a little behind the Xenns in sound quality.. to my ears anyway.. but normal price is around 150$...

I stopped at the og Xenns top.. kinda wish I had never bought them so I could get the xenns top pro lol.. but as it stands, I will not buy them because im 100% sure they dont sound that much better than the og top, if they even sound better (to me).

Xenns TOP was my first IEM, the first time i looked at it, i thought it was big but when I got the Origin, Boy i was wrong. It look small to me now hehehe. But when i'm wearing, i don't notice it anymore. I can play for hours with Origin just like the TOP. In terms of music I can listen to it way longer than the TOP maybe because Origin sound much better overall.

I’ve been using the xenns top in fps gaming for the past 2 years and love them. I recently picked up the Ziigaat Arete and have been enjoying those as well. I mainly play COD and EFT. The audio is complete garbage in COD and extremely good in EFT for directional/footsteps.

I love my iems for gaming. The truthear zero are amazing, but I definitely feel the wanting to level up, which I did (kiwi ears orchestra lite are amazing, and the Xenns Mangird topp were life changing). I think I wish that I had tried out EQ before I upgraded though, I think I could have gotten so much more out of my purchases before I jumped. Check out the PEACE EQ app, and go to the subreddit for peace and find your headphones, people with tons of experience have put together some awesome profiles for almost every popular headphone you can buy, and you can use those as starting points to make your headphones sound how you want. Also, check out ArtIsWar on YouTube, he has some custom sound tunings for black ops 6 specifically that will help you get more mileage out of what you already have. That being said, I won’t ever tell anybody to not explore the audiophile world, sound is an amazing thing. Best of luck out there!

The XENNS Top are a better Variations. Variations have shoddy built quality, and were from the few IEMs that didn't fit my ears.

I have/had them both, man. Basically kept the Top and sold the Variations. I couldn't stand the spilled glue that had leaked from underneath the faceplate to the smoky transparent body as well. If you really want ESTs, go for the EJO7. Much more comfortable shell than the Variations monstrosity and similar tuning. I shouldn't have even replied to you being disrespectful. You are a disgrace to the community.

I prefer the Canon 2 because it makes the atmosphere more alive compared to the Xenns Top, but, the Top is a bit better in positioning and separation. I also prefer the canon 2 for music because of this more energetic and realistic presentation of the Canon. I also tested the Arete, and is not good.

Both IEMs sound excellent. I am not a gamer; I am an audio enthusiast. The ThieAudio Origin has a grander sound, and its bass experience differs from that of the Xenns Top. Both IEMs are incredibly addictive to listen to.

Hmm I use my OG Xenns Top for metal and love them for that, but it does bring out the "fuzziness" in some less well mastered tracks.

Chopin or maybe Xenns Top (not pro) hit that U-shaped signature for me. If you can stretch the definition of U to include Mild V, the new meta tuned sets like KE4 and Ziigaat Odyssey are on the table as well but they do have a thicker midrange that comes along with that kind of tuning

Honestly for an entry level iem just save up some more for the supermix 4, skip the timeless soundstage is so narrow. Then the next upgrade with honestly be either the Variations or Xenns Top. Final endgame will be the Thieaudio big boys (Monarch, Prestige, Origin). Alternatives would be Elysian endgame range iems too.
