I think I'm gonna sell my top pro immediately for these.
they're still a great set but i'd just wait for 11.11 and get the xenns top pro for 400$\~ or less at which point you're essentially at endgame
its more technical+detailed and having better treble. wouldn't categorize it as boring though they graph relatively similarly in the bass with tea pro having at touch more midbass
11.11 is coming up, you should be able to get xenns top pro for 350-400$ at which point you're at endgame
Since you’re not picky abt the signature good pick near the price of the u6t would be the monarch mk4 more bit more neutral and less warm you have the option of a bass switch if you want it to be warmer/ bassier. A cheaper option would be a mega5est or a xenns top pro and under those would be the astrals me personally I like monarch the best and astrals then mega5est the top pro. Only thing to note is that the monarch shells are big asf so I’d demo if you can.
Tried the Top Pro just for fun, but turns out I really like its tonality. Now I’m confused about which one to sell. IE600 → more grand sound (feels like a true flagship IEM), better bass quality, more solid build, comfortable even for side sleeping. Top Pro → excels in separation, resolution, and micro details. But the resin build feels hollow, kinda like the Moondrop Dark Saber, which makes me worried if it falls.
Yeah, top pro is like 1 step better
Black cable on top pro is cost as much as the top pro itself, but its not suitable for u18s. So no, expensive doesnt mean better. Its the sinergy with the iems
Top pro anydays, get tea pro if u like bass
**Quick (and important) question before the review:** Is absolute volume, regardless of comfort, the most important thing for hearing loss? I've been listening to these things LOUD, but nothing about it is uncomfortable. Just checking before I make myself go deaf. Anyways... Always been an audio enthusiast, but never tried IEMs. Many headphones, bookshelf speakers, floorstanding speakers, DAC+AMPs, receivers, etc. A friend recommended the Tea Pros for gaming. After some research I jumped straight to the Top Pros. I'm a fan of the more neutral sound that most were saying they provided. Not gonna lie, not a fan for my gaming needs, but music... my god. I'm actually upset at how much time I've lost NOT listening with these things. **For gaming:** IMO a competitive fps gamer benefits from solutions with as little sub-bass as possible. Even if it's well controlled, it's simply a distraction from the treble sound cues you need to be listening for. The Top Pros have fantastic bass control, but just being there at all rules it out for me. Sennheiser sub-bass falloff is perfect for this, and I quickly went back to my HD 58X for games. **For music:** Incredible resolution and separation. I'm noticing details I didn't know existed in songs I've been listening to for years. Like, I'm sure I always *heard* them, but these made me *notice* them. Imaging is good, but I didn't quite feel like the synth was traveling *around me* in Resynthesis 3D by Max Cooper. Even headphones with a narrow soundstage like HD 6XX seemed to accomplish this illusion better. The frequency response and tonality are perfect to my tastes. The bass and sub-bass are noticeably present but tightly controlled. Vocals come forward and treble is detailed without being too sharp or crunchy. I was so pleased with the sound of these that I immediately turned around and bought the MxC Dusk just to find out if I was exploring a whole new world. But tbh they were a letdown in comparison. They sound good, just not the signature I'm after. I've stuck the Dusk onto some TWS to use when I wont be paying close attention. The part I'm most blown away by, and this might just be an IEM thing, is how loud and full I can listen to these without discomfort. I can absolutely LOSE myself in my favorite songs. Am I gonna rock myself to deaf? Anyone else tried the Top Pros who thinks another IEM does this sound dramatically better? I'm content to believe I picked the right one first, but I understand there's a whole world out there.
Xenns top pro for less than half price :) Usually around £450, purchased for £233 - £30 in cash back so about £203 in the end https://preview.redd.it/4fajgm17in1g1.png?width=1344&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd4690ae138330b86a61bde28b5566c9a5bcbfb9
The Pilgrim is very neutral, it feels like nothing is boosted, it reminds me of the Hexa but with better technicality. The Top Pro is a bit brighter, more exciting and I wanna say technically is slightly better than the pilgrim. To me the Top Pro is the way to go for sure.
I really like these two, they’re a bit different, the Dusk is neutral, the Top Pro is U shaped and more exciting. Both good technicals but the Top Pro has better imaging. The Dusk has better midrange, the Top Pro has better treble. I use the Dusk for Jazz, I use the top pro for everything else.
Thank you! Since they’re different it’s hard to pick a favorite but the ones I find myself using the most are (not in order): Horizon, Top Pro, P7, Astral, Volume S, Dusk and Studio 4
Close your eyes and pick, both really good, Astral is a bit brighter, P7 a bit more V shaped. Can’t go wrong. Very slightly more details on the astral, very slightly better bass on the P7. If your budget is tight get the P7.
Thank you! I don’t have a set rotation, i go by what I feel like (Chill, excitement, critical listening… etc) and by the genre I’m listening too. Currently the IEMs I feel I’m using more often, at least once or twice weekly are (not in order) the Horizon, Top Pro, Astral, Volume S, Dusk, P7 and Studio 4. The IEMs I use the least, probably once a month or less, are defiant, the explorer, cincotres, Hexa, Arete and the orchestra lite. The Chopin, the Pure and Pilgram are somewhere in between.
I guess you have not heard many other upscale iem? (Top pro base is great and not too much to little, but it is not the best controller not the cleanest one) But I do see how top pro can absolutely be buy one and forget for 80% of people that just want to listen to any and all music types. Best part it is like 350€ shipped from china Xenns shop on AliBaba + import fee (380€ came up to be for me) As for est I don’t see a need to be honest, I would not touch treble as it is already just perfect between high res and detail retrieval while never becoming harsh ans masking surface level of sibilance - it is all-a-rounder, I have not heard all a rounder that would be it better est or not 😊 Bass improvement would be my focus because it can be done and there is room for it.
Bass from the box was a touch boomy - but I left it on high volume for 48h and it helped noticeably! I can no longer call it boomy, it is now well controlled and does not bleed into low mids at all to my ear. It is 8.75 bass for me now. I have heard 500-900$ IEM with better bass but it had worse treble or other had worse technical abilities So it def holds the crown for me from point of view - do everything very well, even if nothing is done absolutely best.
I have left my pair on max listening volume to play for 48h, and bass control became better, no longer slightly boomy - I would increase my rating of low end to 8.75 score - not full 9/10 for me but than again, yeah best allarounder for sure now under 1k$
