the iem that fulfills all your need above doesn't exist 😂 I'd recommend two sets: mangird top pro / tea pro se monarch mk3/4 top pro is not as versatile as monarchs but it's more comfortable. monarchs are good at EDM but not great. long term comfort is also an issue because it's shell is bulky. go for monarchs if you're willing to eq because for me, it's treble extension is amazing.
Just be careful going down the rabbit hole in this hobby, it adds up quickly. I kept buying the latest iem to take the top spot in fresh reviews gaming wallhack tier list, until i couldn’t justify upgrading to the 64 audio volurs at $4300aud (im australian). I stopped at the fiio FA19 $1700aud. I do use these everyday for gaming, i don’t hate them for music, fiio iems tend to lean a little bright for my music taste. My favourite set i own is the Xenns Top (original not pro) they cost me $730aud on sale through linsoul. Definitely a capable set for gaming, but my absolute favourite signature for music, i went down the rabbit hole, spent money chasing an upgrade to it, when in reality i just needed to realise it’s all i needed. I have 10 sets in total and just rotate listening to them when im cooking or doing bookwork for my business. You notice the difference between them if you A\B test them, if you just put them in and enjoy the music, your ears adjust and you forget about being critical of the sound and just enjoy them. If you wanna drop bigger $$$ on something find the sound profile you like first, eq will be far more cost effective than buying a heap of cheaper iems of different signatures.
Fiio FA19 for gaming original Xenns Top with a custom cable for music. Also own original Fiio FH7, Dunu vulkan, Tin t4 plus, Kiwi ears orchestra lite and KE4, Letshuoer s12 pro, ikko oh10 and Punch audio martillo.
That’s mostly due to each game having different audio implementations. Footsteps can sit within different frequency ranges from game to game. Other audio queues (explosions & abilities) that sit in those same ranges drowning out footsteps, can sometimes be far more transparent on a particular iem than others. It seems Fresh usually rates multi driver iems quite highly due to their competence in imaging and layering. I have purchased a few different sets based on his reviews. Primarily the Dunu Vulkan 1, Kiwi ears orchestra lite, Xenns Top and Fiio FA19. I don’t play Valorant though but i definitely think he knows what he’s talking about and not just shilling products like other reviewers.
Started with the Thieaudio Hype 2. Sold those and bought the Xenns Mangird Top with the 7hz Thunderbird cable. Like jewelry. Matched perfectly. Sound was just as incredible. Love them. My wife stole them and said what Xenns Top? She uses them with the Divinus Velvet Wide Bore smalls. Got the Hidizs MP145 cuz I have huge ears and wanted a planar. Then got the Thieaudio Hype 10, and damn they're good. Then Fatfreq got with HBB and created a goddamn mess for months, but when the Deuce got here.....slammin bass. Then Thieaudio came out with the Oracle Mk3 and holy shit I was in heaven. Bought the Kiwiears Punch just cuz ultimate bass, but I hardly use them. Since the wife snatched the Top it's a toss up of the Oracle Mk3, Hype 10 and the MP145, with the Oracle being first
I used Xenn Mangird Tops for years and they were great. I then briefly used Monarch MKIVs and while they’re every bit as excellent as people say, they don’t work well for my ears over longer sessions. I’ve since moved to RSV-MKIIs and they’re all exceptional.
Xenns Mangird Tea Pro’s. I’ve had pairs that are more expensive to significantly more expensive (Tops, Top Pros, Monarch MK4, RS5 MK2 and many others) and they just aren’t any better than the Tea Pro’s. Side grade at best. I’ve been in the hobby of high fidelity audio for a long time and I’ve tried many different headphones and In-ears. A LOT of products are severely overhyped but the Tea Pro’s are one of only a handful of things that I think are as good as everyone says they are and they are very worth their price of $360.
Tell you the truth, diminishing returns start at 1$ airline IEMs. At this point you get audio. Pretty poor quality audio, but audio none the less. Say you decide to upgrade from airline IEMs to GK Kuntens. You have now spent around 16x more money, and you get a huge increase in sound quality, but still: there's definitely diminishing returns. However, at this point diminishing returns really start to kick in. I've just today compared my GK kunten to my €500 Xenns Mangird Top. The Tops clearly won, and mostly the difference was pretty audible, but to tell you the truth: they both provide a pleasant listening experience. So in sum: diminishing returns start at 1$ iems (yes i'm fun at parties) but reaaaaally start to kick in around the 15-20$ mark.
Xenns Mangird Top (non-Pro) is still my favorite IEM. Now, I have not try any kilobuck IEMs nor that I can justify buying one, but the Top is very much all that I ever asked for. Very colorful and thumpy signature, which is unique among others in my collection. Fit and comfort is fine, though I wished it had the same build as the Tea Pro. They bond with a meaningful memory of mine, too, so I'm not selling these soon.
OG Xenns Top and Variations, owning both really showed me why they were so popular at the time.
