I’m glad to see you compare the size/fit with that of the Doscinco as that is one of my concerns about these. The Doscinco is my largest IEM set and they get uncomfortable after a while, so I had pretty much decided I didn’t want anything else as big or bigger than those for comfort reasons. The other concern is that I can’t decide if the tuning is something I’d like or not just based on the descriptions. I wish someone would compare them with Kiwi Ears’ other new IEM, the Airoso. I know they’re very different IEMs, but hearing about where the tuning is similar or different might help me decide whether or not I’d like the Aether.

Yeah, there was something a little “different” about the bass, but I thought it might just be an effect of the specific tuning. I don’t have much experience with IEMs so don’t have a lot to compare it to. However, my highest end set (and the only one I have above the price level of the Supermix 4) is the Ziigaat Doscinco, and I think their bass is pretty phenomenal. I didn’t really notice any issues with the Supermix treble, but that may just be because I have older ears. 🤣 I can’t use Wavelet because it’s not compatible with iOS devices. Neither is the Moondrop app, which is the brand of DSP cable I have, so you can see why I’m kinda screwed with trying to figure out how to EQ via DSP. Add to that the fact that I am COMPLETELY clueless on the methods/steps/programs(?) for EQing IEMs, and I’ve hit a major brick wall. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The only ZiiGaat IEMs I currently have are the Nuo and the Doscinco. Honestly, all of the recent releases sound intriguing and I wish I could have the opportunity to listen to each of them to figure out which I’d like the best. Arcadia, Arcanus, Arete, Crescent, Estrella, Horizon, Luna, Lush… I just have no idea which one to choose!

Are you American is the first question, because with all the price fluctuations, I don't quite know how to give a recommendation. The Tea Pros are tried and tested goodness so that's a good option. The doscinco and it's other variant is also pretty decent. The ziigat odyssey is also a pretty good choice.

It’ll depend a lot on the things you like in your music. The DaVinci and DosCinco are more forward with female vocals than the Performer 7 or the S08. S08 is a bit more forward than the P7. P7 is the most neutral of the bunch. Best bass is going to depend on what you’re specifically looking for. Sub bass rumble is probably best on the DosCinco, while the S08 has my favorite mid-bass punch. The DaVinci is nice, but can be a bit soft. The P7 sounds amazingly tight and accurate, but is lacking in intensity compared to the other three, which are much bassier. Cymbals your thing? The Performer 7 is airy and detailed and wonderful. The DaVinci is a close 2nd, but isn’t as smooth as the P7. I would say, if you want dynamic sound that makes those genres sound as exciting as possible, try and get the DosCinco on sale. It’s probably the best fit for Hip/Hop-Rap and Metal overall. The Performer 7 might be too neutral for your tastes, but it’s in my opinion, probably the most detailed and resolving of the bunch. The S08 is great as well, and might be the best value overall, but if you have the budget for the DosCinco and the DaVinci, then I would go for one of those. I personally prefer the DosCinco over the DaVinci, especially on sale. But if you’re sensitive to pressure issues or driver flex, I encountered driver flex on the DosCinco, but not on the DaVinci.

They are cleaner than the doscinco, for me they have a better fit, however yes you are right even the doscinco are good for what you ask. I have no experience with the estrella sorry

I haven't heard the Arete but have back to backed the Doscinos and Hype 4. To me the Hype 4 was significantly better but that's just my ears. The EW300 sounded very similar to the Hype 4s to me just less technical and nuanced but I was extremely impressed with them for the price.

Obviously the ZiiGaat Horizon looks interesting as it's their first foray into planars. I've always quite liked the ZiiGaat Doscinco and the ZiiGaat Luna. Only ZiiGaat iem I currently own is the Cinno.

Ya there is amazing stuff in the 200 to 300 dollar space, really, like the latest run of Ziigaat stuff, Odyssee comes to mind.. And Doscinco.. There is also the Dunu Davinci.. Juzear 61t..we are having our little brains blown out the ear holes at this point. Going up further in price, the tuning seems to get very specific and unique. You really need to know very well what you want. I think most people could stop at something like Odyssee

I'd be most interested in the Lush or Horizon since both differ quite a bit from the Doscinco, which I recently purchased.

I've been using the DosCinco but I'm interested in the Horizon and Odyssey 2.

It's only $17 so you can give it a try but no shot the ND Planet is better than the Doscinco, tuning wise you might prefer the Planet but the Doscinco will wipe the floor with it technicalities wise. OP is overexaggerating after watching HBB's review, HBB also said the KZ EDC Pro could be $100 but it's not even close.

The Duece is a good bass head set, but fair warning they have a very large nossel 6.9-7mm. I personally prefer the Doscinco, Arcadia and Odyssey to the Duece but that's just my preferences.

The IEMs that comes the closest to being an endgame set for less than $400 for me are the Xenns Tea Pro Kiwi Ears Punch Ziigaat Estrella Thieaudio Hype 4 Dunu DaVinci Moondrop Dusk Ziigaat Doscinco Simgot EM10

This and (mostly) crin's sub has a lot of younger folks looking for sub $50 recs and I can't really blame them, if not for the fact that most game sound engines are not that good that you'd notice any real difference I can directly compare my Cantor, Doscinco, Ea1000 and Arias and all I can hear is "hmm yes the sound is slightly more sound-ier on the Cantor" but I barely play any competitive FPSes since cs2 playerbase is shrinking in Asia and valorant has a particularly bad sound engine You're not going to hear notable differences unless you're getting a soundstage monster like the HD800s or just speakers lads, but it'll probably be a great investment for any other use case

You’d be better off saving for a ziigaat Doscinco or estrella, or a qoa Adonis new. I prefer the ziigaat doscinco much more, but it’s also a little more expensive. Estrella I haven’t tried, but it’s similar to doscinco with a bit more treble.

Ziigaat Doscinco works great for metal. Hype 4 as well, but the Doscinco is warmer and bassier while being pretty similar.

Yeah the doscinco has a little bit more, but the hype 4 is no slouch either, it’s close.

I have the doscinco, it’s more of a sidegrade. I definitely like it more though, and it’s better for gaming as far as imaging layering and separation goes. It trades blows with Hype 4/ dusk/ pilgrim.

Of the sets I have I’d say ziigaat Doscinco, xenns tea pro, hype 4 or I haven’t tried it but kiwi ears punch. I’d say deuce, but that midbass scoop…I haven’t heard that either so maybe it’s not as lean as it looks. If you can find a good deal the ikko oh10 is still really great, especially for that music.

Just got mine! I won’t be able to listen to it until after work tomorrow, but I’m pumped. I’ll have to compare it with my doscinco, which is my current favorite bassy set (even though it’s more of a bass boosted balanced set)

I’d say s08 and aful explorer are both great choices. Doscinco as well if you can fork out the funds it beats both of those.

You have a lot of options in that price range. Jm1- tuned Iems (good Allrounder with a good amount of bass with clean natural mids and smoother in the treble. Not necessarily detail monsters in their respective price range): Kiwi Ears Ke4, Crinear Daybreak, Epz P50, Ziigaat Odyssey 1&2, Dunu Davinci (and Ziigaat Crescent) Harman-tuned Iems (Sounds overall engaging and fun. Really clean and more energy in bass and treble compared to the mids): Truthear Nova, Tanchjim Kara and GIZAUDIO x binary Chopin Neutral (like it says neutral. Nothing is really boosted or anything. Sounds flat. Not for me): Trutehar Hexa (with a bass boost) or Etymotic er2se. U-shaped (similiar to V-shaped but more subbass and upper treble focused): Aful Performer 5+2 V-shaped(a lot of bass and treble energy. Really exciting but can also come across fatiguing): Ziigaat Estrella Subbass boosted (bass. Give me bass!): Fatfreq Deuce Midbass lover (give me that thump!): Ziigaat Doscinco or Ziigaat Arcadia Vocal forward (the vocals are the star of the show): Tanchjim Origin (or cheaper options like Fission and Nora)

Can't speak for the Deuce, but the Doscinco are a really nice set, plenty of bass, nice mids and a rolled off treble. There's also the Ziigaat Arcadia, kind of like Doscinco lite. Again, plenty of bass and mids, mellow treble. They aren't detail monsters, but they are easily an all day wear with no fatigue.

That's a question...I've not heard enough bass head IEM's to compare. Kiwi Ears HBB Punch, but you're talking next level cash for those. The Doscinco COULD be the ones for you, within budget. Thieaudio Hype 4 maybe? I'm struggling here!

Good one, Doscinco are a great set, forgot about them. Arcadia are like a Doscinco lite, but still with great bass.

I got the DosCincos right before the Estrella’s were announced, so those were always one that I thought might have gotten away (but still love my DosCincos). The Odysseys look amazing, too, and now these Horizons. I am a sucker for soundstage which seems like a major marketing point on them. Would love to try out myself.

I'm unable to answer your exact question, but I can give my advise at least: consider TSMR Armor for warm sound, or TSMR X for technical sound. I like them both, and they can slam harder than Martilo (judging by reviews I've read, don't have Martilo myself), they basically can slam even harder than 7Hz Legato (that one I own), and being pretty good at details at the same time (X more so than Armor). Very good sets both, still can't decide which one I love more, but I don't know what Explorer sounds like, so I can't compare them unfortunately. Oh, and you can adjust the amount of bass on them to your liking, or screw everything and crank all the switches up for pure earthquake enjoyment. Or you can look for Ziigaat Doscinco, I believe it's the most basshead ZiiGaat IEM still to this date. Dual DD's in isobaric chamber is no joke, this one hits with authority as well, just not to the same degree as Armor and X, but probably still better than Martilo, at least I'm 100% sure it's better than Kiwi Ears Punch and Thieaudio Origin (I've owned those). Can confirm, Doscinco is still unbeatable in bass quantity/quality to me, even after I tried Thieaudio Origin.

On the budget/cheap end my favorite is the Artti R1. My current favorite energetic all rounders would be ziigaat Doscinco, and Binary Dynaquattro. Theyre not peaky at all, but i wouldnt say they’re relaxed. Theyre just a really nice smooth energetic tuning. Id prob go FIIO FD15, or Dunu falcon ultra for single DD relaxed tuning. I wouldn’t say Kato/Kadenz because it can be a little energetic up top, and no Dunu Kima because it has sub-bass roll that would leave me wanting more. Hybrid/tribrid wise id probably go Aful P7, or Ziigaat Arete. Havent tried Cincotres, but it’s a different flavor of doscinco. The Ziigaat Arcadia and Odyssey seem good too but idk much about them. In this top end of the price range there’s also BGVP NS10 Pro, CKLVX D62, Juzear 81T, and Pula Anvil. However, every reviewers ive seen has pretty much preferred the Aful P7 more over these. For the most part i think these sets might have a bit more bass impact because of their bigger DDs, but they say P7 is quicker and more technical.

Thank you for this! Hype 4 was in my short list of next IEM purchase but it sounds like it’s not for me. The Doscinco is amazing to me and I need that warm, bassier tuning it has. If Hype 4 has less then it’s a No Go for me.

My latest 2 IEM’s are the Ziigaat Doscinco and Shanling ME600. To my ears and sound preferences: Pure Audio Heaven. I’m bold enough to say I believe I’m done buying IEM’s for quite a while, reasonably for 2025…… Bold enough to say that as a comment/reply……smart enough to NOT say that as it’s own Post/Thread 😎

The more I listen to the Doscincos’ and me600’s, I go through my collection and separate out IEM’s I’m probably not gonna use again.

last year I spent over $2,500.00 on IEMs, tips, and dongles. in chronological order: Pula PA02s B tier, an all rounder, excellent. Simgot EM6L B+ tier, just sounded great! A little too spicy. Ziigaat Doscinco, and Cinoctres. The Doscincos are bass boosted all rounders both are A tier, The Cincotres are more neutral and suppose to be more monitor like and dry. they are A tier also, just a little different than that Doscincos. I bought Thieaudio Hype 4's next. They have just as good of bass as the Doscincos, with better mids, and some airy, slightly sizzling treble. I rank them A+ because they are just about perfect all rounders. If you A, B with the Ziigaats you can hear that they just are better sounding, but like only 5%. The Hype 4s are not cheap, I bought a pair for a good friend of mine, and she loved them and bought a pair for her niece! A+ Then I got some Hisenior Mega5-ESTs and they are the best IEMs, or headphones I have ever heard! Same, but not as good to my ears A- tier Xiaoliang Qian Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 thanks for asking. The Mega5's some say are boring because they are a quite natural and neutral sounding. My experience the bass is quite good, the mids are just about perfect, and the treble is airy, sparkle, fantastic! The sound stage is holographic. Over all I praise these to the moon, they are magnificient. if you want a alternate in this type of sound "Meta" or JM-1 tilted the Nice HCK Rockies are almost and exact clone of this same type of tuning. You don't need and PEQ, or even use an EQ if you don't want to. This tuning has been so successful it is being done with other lesser, and premium IEMs (over $1k) Recently Aful came out with their best IEM ever, Thieaudio has the Monarch MKIV, and FiiO's FX15 with eight EST drivers was released! I am looking at my endgame. Good chance it will be one of these sets. Also the older UM Mest MKII is of great interest to me.

I got my Ziigaat Dosincos on sale on Amazon for 240USD and damn they're good. I've also got the Kefine Delci, they're not even in the same league. The Dosincos are one of Ziigaats bassier pairs and also seem to be a favorite for a lot of people (out of the ziggaats lineup). I'm not sure anything else is going to beat it at that given what you're asking for (but I'm still fairly new to this).

I have both the odyssey and dosinco, and I much prefer the dosinco as my daily driver.

It's noticeably better, at least more impactful and doesn't bleed a whole lot into the mids. When paired to an amp, it's very very good. I did get the dosincos first, so the odyssey was a bit of a disappointment when it came to the bass quality. I'd say it's more neutral sounding, and the dosincos are exciting with a not-quite v shaped tune. They both do treble really well, which I think shines more on the dosinco when you think about how much bass it can produce. Hope that made sense lol.

I also have the Chu2 and then got the HEXA , and I agree with you. Feels like hearing songs for the first time. Not punchy low ends but very clear sounding IEMs. Recently got the Ziigat Doscinco and now I am in the endgame. Hexa for movies and gaming for that extreme clarity and the doscincos for music. You can use KZ Starline eartips on the HEXA for the best sound and slightly higher bass.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I have no complaints about a company releasing a ton of options with branded Knowles or Sonion BAs instead of bellsing crap. People have no idea the price difference in branded BAs is sometimes an increase of 10X over drivers companies like Aful use. If you are at all familiar with graphs and how an IEM diverges from JM-1 (neutral), plus the different properties of certain driver types (Dynamic vs. BA vs. Planar etc) you can usually guess 90% of what it sounds like. I like options. My only complaint is their shell shape creates a pressure point on the top/back of my ear. Ziigaat's shells are the only ones I've ever had a problem with. CHANGE UP THE SHELL SHAPE GUYS.

there are 5-10 great IEMs in 230-530 price range which I wouldn't say one of them is better than the others, rly depends on your tuning preference, actual difference to these would be 800+ IEMs, those Ziigaats fall behind a bit in soundstage compared to Volume S, Tea Pro, maybe not Variations but they are all still good just there are better ones for that

Funny I come across this post as I'm on my way home from an audiophile store after trying their entire price range of IEMs, as well as their expensive DACs and DAPs. Like from $20 IEMs all the way to a $4000 Forte Ears Macbeth they had. Here's what I concluded as a non-audiophile just gaining interest in this hobby. Diminishing returns for IEMs kicks in hard after $300. Sweet spot seems to be around $200-$250. I really liked the Moondrop Kato and a lot of the Ziigaat IEMs they had. Fit and sound quality felt much better than the Zero Reds I currently have. I feel like once you go above into the upper hundreds into thousands USD range it's more personal preference tbh. Favourite one I tried today was a Campfire Audio Clara. With DACs I felt that as long as it could sufficiently power the IEM, it really didn't make a noticeable difference. Couldn't notice a real difference between my JM6 Pro dongle and their $200 ifi DACs, even on the expensive IEMs. And the Apple dongle is pretty bad. It couldn't drive most of the IEMs I tried. Even the ones it could drive they didn't sound good. Just use a JM6 Pro it's even cheaper than the Apple dongle (at least it is in my country). I did notice a quality difference with DAPs though only with the expensive IEMs. It sounded kind of cleaner but honestly not too big from my perspective. For most people you could probably just go up to around the $200-$300 range with an IEM that fits you comfortably with a preferable sound signature, and get an entry level DAC-AMP dongle and just leave and save the rest of your wallet.

I was in a similar boat as OP and bought the tea pros, ziigaats and et142s. After lots of comparison the et142s were the clear winner and surprisingly the cheapest of the three. They’ve been my daily driver ever since and have never felt the need for anything better. Frankly I have a hard time imagining how they could be improved on. Very, very pleased with my simgot et142s. They are endgame for me for now.
