I was heavy into COD Warzone at that moment and ArtIsWar recomended those for COD but I use them everyday and they work nice for CS2
I have not heard it yet, but the newly released Aful Dawn X looks to be a tuning that might fit what you’re looking for. The Softears RSV mk2 might be another one. I’m most likely going to grab that set during 11/11 I have and love the Monarch mk4, but I’d mostly agree with your description. I picked up a used Ziigaat x HBB Jupiter and its tuning would be probably be close to what you’re looking for. I wouldn’t buy it at the retail price though. It’s more of an all rounder than I expected. Vocals are great and the bass is 👌. The Campfire Alien Brain is in my rotation and might be worth a consideration too. It fits my ears, but the shape is a bit wonky.
Yes there’s plenty but it also comes with a price. Also depends what you mean better… better bass? Technicalities? Good mix of both is prob thieaudio origin for the price. You want a clean sound with noticeably better technicalities but with less bass, I’d say prestige Ltd is the best bang for buck. Another set that doesn’t get mentioned a lot is the ziigaat jupiters which has good bass slam with good technicals — something about the clean and airy sound of EST drivers paired with DDs I really enjoy. Bass: Jupiter > origin > prestige Treble: Prestige Ltd > Jupiter > origin Really depends on what you prioritize and what’s your budget. When you go into the kilobuck bracket the sound is noticeably smoother and cleaner with good bass. It’s hard to produce and eq a good IEM that can excel at everything so something has to give; adding a bunch bass messes frequency range. Adding a bunch of high end drivers helps to achieve a good balance between the frequency response without sacrificing mids and upper treble.
The Jupiter is criminally underrated, and still the best set Ziigaat has made. It is a desert island set for me. I think the issue was the pre-launch price, which moved from $1000 to $1600. Probably several buyers who couldn't pick it up before the prerelease window ended, assumed they could pick it up later for a conservative price increase, and didn't expect the $1600 price post launch. Wholeheartedly agree with this ranking as well.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I have no complaints about a company releasing a ton of options with branded Knowles or Sonion BAs instead of bellsing crap. People have no idea the price difference in branded BAs is sometimes an increase of 10X over drivers companies like Aful use. If you are at all familiar with graphs and how an IEM diverges from JM-1 (neutral), plus the different properties of certain driver types (Dynamic vs. BA vs. Planar etc) you can usually guess 90% of what it sounds like. I like options. My only complaint is their shell shape creates a pressure point on the top/back of my ear. Ziigaat's shells are the only ones I've ever had a problem with. CHANGE UP THE SHELL SHAPE GUYS.
Part of me thinks: *You’ll have fun with almost anything you pick, just choose one and enjoy the music.* This is actually the truth. 5+2, volume S, 12 different ziigaats, hype 4 mk1/2, etc, etc, they all rock and you will be happy unless you can back to back them and pick them apart otherwise 99 percent wouldn't be able to find any real flaws, not to mention the 20 planers I didn't include.
ZiiGaat and AFUL have more of the unique tuning approach and are the Chinese brands that I liked the most on my journey so far (less treble than typical Harman and interesting eargain handling for ZiiGaats, characteristic upper-mid plateau for AFUL)
Yep, I'm the same way with both of my ears are slightly different. Sometimes i have to use 2 different sizes on rare occasions. Fitment is most times the culprit in sound at not being the way you thought until you experiment tip rolling. Glad it was just fit issues and you can now enjoy the astral at it's potential. Yeah, the dunu s&s tunnel is too long for the astral's stubby nozzle, but they are great eartips, unfortunately it wouldn't be a good fit for the astral. How are you liking the sound of the astrals now?
Ziigaat has a really flat belly to their iems which is annoying for me too. It's one of the reasons I chose kiwi ears over ziigaat. Ergonomics is underrated but very important
