The Birch, Avocado, Naturpedic and MyGreenMattress and the Leesa Youth would be the best in this category.

Because the frame has a railing on one open side, so if the mattress is too tall he will topple over quite easily. Decided on the avocado eco kids mattress.

I started using the avocado kids mattress at 7 months and it has worked great. It’s also less expensive than the extra firm one. I believe they advertise it as medium but I find it firm. My baby isn’t disturbed at all when I move around or get in and out of bed. I’ve been curious how the firmness of the kids mattress compares to the extra firm mattress. If I cosleep with my next baby from a younger age, I’m going to reach out to them to ask. But I’m not sure that I could sleep comfortably on anything firmer than what we have.

I got the avocado mattress designed for children. It’s super firm. Like I almost think it doesn’t need to be that firm. I almost bought the avocado mattress that you are talking about from Costco. I almost wish I had, or at least had the ability to try it out.

I have the most affordable of the avocado brand mattresses (eco I think?) which was $1200 and worth every penny. Super comfy and fair trade so I’m not sleeping on the backs of child slaves. Is firm in a solid sense but still soft enough to get cozy.

We had the naturpedic for a crib mattress. I know they are supposed to be very firm but it was so hard and I wonder if that’s why he didn’t sleep well in his crib. We got a full size Avocado a couple months ago for a floor bed so we can Co sleep and it’s very nice! I will say it felt too soft for the first couple days and we were worried. But it firmed up as it aired out. Now it’s very comfortable. He has been sleeping very wonderfully on it, too.
