Avocado - Vegan Mattress

I bought two Avocados, (specifically the vegan avocado as that aligned best with my preferences) and love them. The queen was the best mattress I ever had and my wife and I upgraded to a king, now we both have excellent mattresses for when the other is ill or we have a guest over. Get the pillow topper too.

I bought a $1500 avocado mattress and my sons hated it. They like the costco top of the line mattress. I swear by a latex topper - all latex. It’s wonderful.

100%. Or Avocado. They’re not firm if that’s your preference though.

I like my Avocado mattress, but to be honest it does not compare at all to my water bed. A water bed, without any hybrid stuff (like foam), was the best bed I’ve ever slept on. It does require some maintenance though and you do need a sheepskin cover on top to keep a distance between your body and the water bed vinyl itself. Nice thing is that the bed is heated.

I've bought 3 sleep innovations Marley mattresses off Amazon. They're cheap, and comfortable. The queen is 299, and lasted about 3 years. I currently have one on my guest bed that I bought Mar 2022 that is still brand new (that bed doesn't get slept on very much). I bought an Avocado a couple years ago, and slept on it for almost a year. I absolutely HATED it. It was way too firm for me. But, they have a 1 year full refund policy, and they honored it.

always buy a firm mattress -- the firmer the better -- because if it's too firm, you can always add a soft layer on top. if it's too soft, there's nothing to be done. I recommend avocado mattresses on a base of slats or just a solid piece of wood/plywood (make sure it's nontoxic plywood). They're expensive, but here's what I do (it's weird): instead of one solid mattress, I bought three of the "toppers" to layer on each other. It brings the cost down and it's easier to maneuver and it allows you to adjust the hardness by using either 2 or 3 layers. Start with 2 (order the 3 inch ones) and see if that's thick enough. If not, order a third.
