Love my Avocado medium pillowtop
We love our Avocado...so honestly I'm glad we waited and splurged. Might be worth seeing if there are any Christmas/holiday deals!
They have an extra firm, but my husband likes it firm and the standard mattress was fine. I got a mattress pad for my side because I like my beds like this:
I got the avocado firm mattress and it was bumby and had fabric that bunched on the top, did not seem sleep safe or correct so I sent it back. Ended up getting a naturepedic and it’s very firm.
We paid a ton of money for our king avocado (from the manufacturer) and 5 years later it dips in the middle. Disappointing bc we have an avocado crib mattress that we used for 2 kids and it’s been fine.
We have a king avocado and love it. Best purchase we’ve made as a couple (also the most expensive) but their financing plan was interest free over 12 months. Also got one of their bed frames which is beautiful. Word to the wise. The mattress is *extremely* heavy. Took our movers 4 people to get it up the stairs
We had the naturpedic for a crib mattress. I know they are supposed to be very firm but it was so hard and I wonder if that’s why he didn’t sleep well in his crib. We got a full size Avocado a couple months ago for a floor bed so we can Co sleep and it’s very nice! I will say it felt too soft for the first couple days and we were worried. But it firmed up as it aired out. Now it’s very comfortable. He has been sleeping very wonderfully on it, too.
We have twin and queen mattresses from Avocado. They have a bit of a unique smell occasionally, I think because of the wool, but I don't find it offensive. They are HEAVY though! I also got their twin waterproof mattress protector for one bed and the Naturepedic equivalent for the other, and both of those have worked great for multiple kid related fluids, lol. And just in case you're looking for new pillows to, I switched to a buckwheat hull pillow earlier this year. I love it, and I've heard millet hull ones are even nicer.

The Avocado hybrid I had from Costo slept very cool. Maybe the higher end Green will too. Also, bedding is very important. You want everything to be breathable. My current setup is a Winkbed Plus, 1.5" merino wool topper, whisper organics quilted mattress cover, Sleep and Beyond Cotton Percale sheet set, sleep and beyond wool comforter, sleep and beyond percale duvet cover and sleep and beyond Mymerino comforter. It would probably sleep a bit cooler if I remove the whisper organics cover but I wanted some protection for the wool topper since it was pricy. I imagine that setup would sleep extremely cool on an avocado hybrid mattress. The windkbed doesn't exactly sleep warm but I think the avocado was a bit cooler.
