Beautyrest Black

I do find the Backcare 4 too hard, compared to Beauty Rest. But my partner prefers Backcare 4, and it can flip both sides, Beauty rest can't.

Between Simmons and Getha I will say consider Getha. Simmons is a decent brand but overpriced. And heard horrible stories of how it's mattress gave way after a few years of use. Latex offers a lot more benefits and it's v durable. Having said this, study Getha options carefully because they have models that aren't full latex. Some models include synthetic foam - which isn't something I like in my sleep environment. There are a few latex mattress brands in Singapore offering full latex options. You can check from out too.

I’d buy a firm not fancy pocket coil spring mattress like a beautyrest. Then topper away. 

He’s repeatedly buying cheap all foam beds. Even lower quality pocket springs are going to wildly outlast products like the novaform.  And while I think the Simmons product has gone downhill, I still think it is dramatically better than a no name Amazon innerspring mattress.

We have a beautyrest black pillowtop and we bought a 3 inch memory foam topper.

Maybe for a small shop, but not a local manufacturer. Both Sealy and Simmons are owned by Private Equity (and they also own a lot of those mattress in a box places too) and products are actually made much cheaper now than even 15 years ago. Cut open any Sealy or Beautyrest and you will see wafer thin, cheap-ass foam that will breakdown in less than 3 years. Coils and foam aren't even glued sufficiently anymore. How do I know? I did surgery on our 3 year old mattress. You would be hard pressed to find something manufactured and assembled cheaper. Dozens and dozens of coils fallen over. Degrading foam too. Replaced the foam with high quality foam for $30, fixed the coils and sprayed them with glue to hold onto the foam - 100% better mattress than even brand new. Moved that to a guest room when we got our custom mattress (made in the next town over) built to our specs - for less than a middle of the road Beautyrest. Local custom mattress shops will show everything that goes into your mattress......and if you don't like the firmness/plushness, they will work with you until you are satisfied. And they will replace the foam for cheap if it ever starts to sag. Big mattress corporations feed profits to shareholders and investors. They don't pour profits back into the company to make their products better. Bigger margins and lower operating costs keep those investors happy and make for huge bonuses at the top. I know the owner who also made our mattress.
