Just got a Beautyrest Black series four medium pillow top last year. Even opted in for the adjustable frame with massage function.
Not sure how you saw the quality of the BR Series 4 doesn’t hold up? Those mattresses came out 1 year ago in 2024 and are pretty much an entirely new design and materials.
I returned mine for comfort reasons. But just saying you can’t really claim longevity issues on a 1 year old mattress
I hate beautyrest Black medium. There is no support. It's going back after the holidays, even though it's going to cost me in restocking fees.
I work at Mattress Firm and we have the Beautyrest Black series on the floor. I actually see a lot of back and side sleepers (especially with lower back pain) do well on it. It has strong coil support for the low back but still enough cushion on top for shoulders and hips, and it doesn’t have that “stuck” memory foam feel. Also totally fine on a solid platform.
Because each series literally adds more materials + more advanced support tech + more cooling layers + more labor to build. So the cost to make it (and the performance) goes up each level.
It’s only good for about 4 years though. First one was replaced just at 4 years, the centre caved (we are 130lbs & 180lbs and do not sleep in the middle of the mattress) and beauty rest warrantied it with the same mattress (they change the mattress name, but it was the same mattress) and right at 4 years, now it’s caved again where literally no one sleeps. It has to be by design. Beauty rest is absolute garbage. Thinking about a bed in a box quite seriously at this point
simmons black is the way to go
We have a beautyrest black pillowtop and we bought a 3 inch memory foam topper.
So I recently tried the Brentwood- really nice mattress but didn’t feel like it would hold up in the long run- retuned- good customer support. I have a Helix midnight luxe in my guest room. Good mattress but I also don’t think this would hold up after a lot of time. Tried beatyrest black- really disappointed- and I returned- finally settled in sterns and foster and I am very happy. Im a back and side sleeper. Went with the medium pillow top Lux Estate. Expensive but worth it.
I have a Beautyrest Black Pillow top and when it comes time to replace it, I'll be replacing it with the same thing. Fucker is huge, bulky, and expensive. But I never have back pain when I wake up, unlike every hotel I've ever stayed at.
I personally like a soft mattress. But what I've found is there are too types of soft mattresses: mush and truly soft. Mush you get in and can't get back out. This is the Beauty rest Black line at the Brick (Canada) Truly soft are medium firm mattresses with great foam tops like Beauty Rest Trilliant at Sleep Country. Mush is awful but a supporting mattress with a cloud top is a thing of beauty. I had a mattress like this several years ago, amazing. Then I switched to medium firm on medical advice. Big mistake. My body likes to be held but my joints like to be whispered to. I am a side sleeper with a little back until the sleep apnea chokes me awake.
