No nectar or saatva will be anywhere near that firm. They are also both objectively worse quality. Dont be fooled by good online marketing and paid reviews. Stick with what you tried and found comfortable.
I have the Beautyrest Black Series 1 Extra Firm - wouldn’t recommend it. I currently have a warranty claim open for it.
Received it in October & it began sinking after the first week. Never had that happen with a bed before. For this bed, 1 1/2” dip is the threshold for warranty claim approval; ours just measured at 1 3/4”. It’s a king bed, share with husband, and there are two massive dips where we each sleep, and it’s significantly firmer in the middle of the bed. We feel like we’re rolling uphill to get to the middle.
Background: Had a Simmons Calista Extra Firm king since July 2016 & absolutely loved it. Filed a warranty claim in September 2025 for dips starting to cause pain. Approved. Replaced with the bed described above.
This bed is much firmer than our Simmons. No give for shoulders when side sleeping, even with a topper we bought. Causes shoulders to kind of collapse in cause tightness & aches. Stomach sleeping was great for the week before the dipping started; now that dip causes major lower back pain. Back sleeping is alright but can cause minor lower back aches with gap between lower back and the bed. For reference, I am a female, 5’6”, 130 lbs.
Well, I haven’t laid on the firm saatva, but have laid on an extra firm BR Black series 1. So how firm do you want it?
And in this context when you say firm, I’m assuming you want the bed to feel hard.
My spine is attached to my skull with titanium bolts, my spine is held together with titanium plates, I have back issues.
My mattress, which I change every five years is a Beauty Rest Black extra firm. Yes they are expensive, yes, it does the job. I sleep well, I rest and I awaken with no more pain than what I had when I went to sleep. Your back is one of the most important structures in your health and life, do not fall for gimmicks or advertising.
Buy a good mattress. In 50 years we have had only two. We purchase a Beautyrest Black a few years ago , and love it. Don’t be cheap on anything you sleep on.
