My partner and I have the fig, I’m 275 shes an ex-athlete tall lady (see how I did that) and we love it. The Purple was nice as well and I think you can try that out at the domain.

The foundation matters almost as much (if not more) than the mattress. I built out bed frame with a 2x10 outside border, framed with 2x3 16” on center, with sanded 5/8” ply as the platform. This cost me roughly $100 in materials to build. For the actually mattress, we went with a Big Fig Classic. We’ve had it about a year and are super happy with our purchase. We rotate it every 90 days and we’re not having and dipping or sagging issues. I’m 375# and my spouse is 240# for reference.

I had a Titan Luxe and loved it at first but then it developed sagging on the EDGE of all places. I don't even sit on the edge of the bed so it had to be from just rolling off the bed each day. I just purchased a Big Fig Classic. I've only slept on it a few times and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. It's definitely very supportive but it takes me awhile to settle in each night but that's probably because I was sleeping on a memory foam mattress before this so my body needs to get accustomed to the firmer surface. Once I fall asleep I do sleep well. But again, I've only had it for a few days so I don't have any info on longevity yet. It seems very well made though. **UPDATE:** I ended up returning the Big Fig. My husband (5'8" 300 lb) was having really bad neck pain from it. It went away when we went back to sleeping in our old mattress.

If you’re over 350lbs or a stomach sleeper, the Big Fig clasic is a good option. It sucks horribly for side sleepers and is not great for back sleeping, or if you’re 300lbs or less. I’m 5’11” around 290, combo back and side sleeper, and I’m looking at either the Helix Plus Elite, Sleep Number i8, or the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate to replace my underwhelming Big Fig mattress after only 4yrs. I HIGHLY suggest trying before you buy and not buying blindly.

My partner and I got a [Big Fig](https://www.bigfigmattress.com/products/big-fig-classic-mattress-queen?nbt=nb%3Aadwords%3Ag%3A1632583583%3A61205428774%3A705996873503&nb_adtype=&nb_kwd=big%20fig%20mattress&nb_ti=kwd-348042431730&nb_mi=&nb_pc=&nb_pi=&nb_ppi=&nb_placement=&nb_li_ms=&nb_lp_ms=&nb_fii=&nb_ap=&nb_mt=e&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1632583583&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3aLHBhDTARIsAIRij59oMqBtFVIjYoRlgu1fUT9hRwG9miaYf-uLD1v-5j9JD202bqD_I1QaApR-EALw_wcB) mattress about six years ago and it’s been worth every penny! It’s firm but soft. Very gentle on our joints, but firm enough that I can sit on the edge and do my makeup. Withstands boisterous bedroom times without squeaking. I’ve recommended Big Fig to multiple friends and family IRL. You may find them worth checking out, too.

I’ve had my Big Fig mattress for at least 6 years now, and it’s the most comfortable bed in the house. Between my partner and I there’s ~800lbs on the mattress most nights. Both the cat and dog love it too, lol. We rotate it annually. Best money I’ve ever spent.

Big Fig! I can’t advocate for them enough. I’ve had mine for at least five years now, and it’s practically the same today as when I first bought it. My partner and I weigh a combined total of 800lbs, so Big Fig is a tough mudder. 10/10 always recommend.

I just got a Big Fig classic mattress and their adjustable base about a month ago. Prior to that, I was waking up with low back pain daily, but now not once for the month I have been sleeping on the new bed. This brand is very well liked in the plus size communities I follow. Granted I am a back sleeper, but you still might benefit from an adjustable base as a side sleeper so don’t automatically discount it. It can be useful for non-sleep activities as well. 😉 I enjoy sitting up to read in bed before going to sleep now. Anyway, I am very happy with it.

Have you looked at Big Fig, which is designed for plus size sleepers? We have their classic mattress, which was too firm for me (side sleeper) but ok for my husband (also a side sleeper). We added their micro coil topper and now it’s great—cozy and firm. They often have 25% off sales—sign up for their email and texts.

The Big Fig classic is too firm but if you add the microcoil topper, it’s very cozy. Their bases are really solid and can handle extra weight. We have one of those and engineered sleep duo memory plus. If you get an adjustable base that’s not from big fig, make sure to do the weight calculations. For the duo bed in a king, we got 2 xl twin bases to support the weight of the people plus heavy mattress plus our dogs.

We are plus size sleepers and have the original big fig and I think it’s too firm (side sleeper) but my husband (back sleeper) likes it. We added the microcoil topper and then I thought it was very comfy but it made the bed too high for our dogs to jump on and off (the mattress is on the big fig adjustable base, which is pretty high—they also have a non adjustable base, which looks solid). Also, You might want to talk to the folks at engineered sleep—they are really responsive and helpful and knowledgeable. I really like our memory duo plus (I sleep on the firmer side of the base, which has a softer and a firmer side, with the topper). It’s probably a medium in firmness and it’s made my back and hip pain much less noticeable. I will say it is a very heavy bed so with back problems you would likely need someone to help set it up and help adjust it if you need to flip the base or swap the topper in a comfort exchange. I also have their adjustable base and it’s much lower to the ground (you can choose a leg height). They also have a couple of more standard hybrid options that others have commented on.

We have a big fig, what they are calling the classic now, I think. It’s very firm but so perfectly cozy when you add the microcoil topper. It’s defined for heavy people so I think you’d need the topper to be comfortable. The only issue with the topper was that it slid around a bit snd adds a couple inches, so we took it off —bed was too high for the sofa to jump on. You may want to get their base too—very sturdy! Another suggestion is to talk to the folks at engineered sleep about their duo beds. They come in 2 parts—a coil section that has soft and firm sides plus a 2 or 4 inch topper. That would let you customize the firmness level and feel. We also have a duo memory plus but they have options without memory foam. Super responsive and knowledgeable if you can or text them.
