r/BedroomBuildHow do Birch and Avocado mattresses compare in price?

Both Birch and Avocado make excellent natural mattresses, so you really can’t go wrong with either in terms of comfort and quality. The main difference tends to be price. Avocado starts at a reasonable range for their basic models, but once you start adding pillow tops, vegan or luxury layers, or other customizations, the price can climb quickly into the higher four figures. Birch is generally a bit more predictable on cost. Their new top-of-the-line mattress in the lineup tops out just a little above $3,000, which keeps even their most luxurious option below what some fully loaded Avocado models cost. Comparable models are both comparable in quality and comfort. And even the Birch with their plush topper, it is not as complex as the Avocado, but both are comfortable and durable. Concerting Avocado, I think they are seeking to jump into the luxury category in an effort to set them apart from some of the competition in the latex space, but before I would ever consider paying 16k plus, I am making a visit to the Hastens showroom and getting a mattress for a lifetime. For shoppers on a tighter budget who still want natural materials, Birch often ends up feeling more approachable, while Avocado offers more customization for those willing to pay a premium. Interestingly enough, I got birch's for 2 of my grand kids, and they are working fantastically.

Since you're a side sleeper dealing with shoulder issues but still want that firm feel, check out birch mattress. It's a natural latex hybrid that hits this sweet spot where it's supportive but still has enough give for pressure relief on your shoulders. The latex layer is way more responsive than memory foam (won't trap you in one position all night) and the coil system keeps everything firm and supportive.

I'm really happy with my Birch mattress. Eco friendly and comfy too. Look up "Birch natural mattress review sleepline" on Google. Its the best review I found for it that actually says both good and bad things about it.

r/MattressLooking for a non toxic alternative to Purple mattress
about 1 month ago

As someone who’s pored over the lawsuits against Saatva, avocado, etc., I’m not 100% anytning is fully nontoxic. There are unintentional and incidental PFAS everywhere. For me personally my approach is harm reduction and GreenGuard fold, certiPUR are my bare minimum. Oeko tek, madesafe,GOL/GOTS are good, too but those mattresses were way above our price range. If price is nonissue , naturepedic and birch are alternatives. I did not like avocado or birch- too bouncy. We went with Saatva.

r/MattressAfter a lot of research - stuck deciding, help me pick please!

I was able to find a showroom in my area that displayed beds from a lot of the online mattress sellers. It was really helpful as I was hesitant to shell out a couple thousand dollars without even having the chance to lie on a mattress for 5 minutes. It was super low pressure - the one person working took me around to show me where the various brands were, then left me alone. Try googling “online mattress showroom“ to see if there’s one near you. i ended up with a Birch. Comfy, nice and bouncy, good edge support. I am not sure if it would have enough motion isolation for you. I’m the light sleeper of the couple, luckily he doesn’t change position or get up much.

Seconding these recommendations. I have a birch and after just 3-4 yrs it has indentations and is too soft.

r/BuyItForLifeA good mattress, do they exist anymore?

We bought a birch mattress about 2 years ago and still like it. It’s a wool mattress so it doesn’t have any of those nasty flame retardant chemicals. Smells amazing as well.
