Birch - Birch Kids Natural Mattress

I got my grandson the Birch Kids mattress. It’s a two-sided natural mattress made with latex, wool, and cotton. Someone mentioned that a $500 mattress is too expensive. That is simply not correct. You are buying a mattress for a growing child, and proper posture and alignment matter during development. My kids wanted an all-natural mattress for their children, and the Birch Kids mattress is perfect. One side is designed for young children ages 2 and up. As the child grows, the mattress can be flipped around age 6 to 8, or not. That is the beauty of it. If the child is comfortable and doing well on the firmer side, they can stay there. Or they can flip it to the medium feel and even flip it again around ages 13 or 14 if the medium side starts to feel too soft. The birch kids mattress has the potential to live with your child from age 2 to college. I would recommend a full size, which is what I got for my grandson, as he will be a much happier sleeper when he gets older. My Green Mattress, Avocado, Naturpedic all make kids mattresses worthy of mentioning. The birch with it two sided, flippable design is what separates the Birch from these similar latex, wool and cotton natural mattresses.

I'm really happy with my Birch mattress. Eco friendly and comfy too. Look up "Birch natural mattress review sleepline" on Google. Its the best review I found for it that actually says both good and bad things about it.

As someone who’s pored over the lawsuits against Saatva, avocado, etc., I’m not 100% anytning is fully nontoxic. There are unintentional and incidental PFAS everywhere. For me personally my approach is harm reduction and GreenGuard fold, certiPUR are my bare minimum. Oeko tek, madesafe,GOL/GOTS are good, too but those mattresses were way above our price range. If price is nonissue , naturepedic and birch are alternatives. I did not like avocado or birch- too bouncy. We went with Saatva.

I was able to find a showroom in my area that displayed beds from a lot of the online mattress sellers. It was really helpful as I was hesitant to shell out a couple thousand dollars without even having the chance to lie on a mattress for 5 minutes. It was super low pressure - the one person working took me around to show me where the various brands were, then left me alone. Try googling “online mattress showroom“ to see if there’s one near you. i ended up with a Birch. Comfy, nice and bouncy, good edge support. I am not sure if it would have enough motion isolation for you. I’m the light sleeper of the couple, luckily he doesn’t change position or get up much.

Seconding these recommendations. I have a birch and after just 3-4 yrs it has indentations and is too soft.

We bought a birch mattress about 2 years ago and still like it. It’s a wool mattress so it doesn’t have any of those nasty flame retardant chemicals. Smells amazing as well.
