We bought a mattress that was well reviewed..novaform I think. It was fine for maybe a year and then sagging and aches in the morning. Costco arranged for a pickup and refund. Went with dreamfoam bedding and we've been happy with that brand.
Costco \*is\* great. I really try not to abuse their generous return policy, but the mattress was not good after too short a time. Did you find one you liked through Costco? I've bought most of mine from Dreamfoam since, and have been happy. I went with their old Arctic Dreams which was all foam...this is going back 5-7 yrs now. I'd say not all that cooling, but comfortable for me.
I swear by my Brooklyn Bedding hybrid mattress. Heaviest at 290 it was perfect for me AND my husband who isn’t plus size. It was recommended to us by our friends and the guy is 6’2, 200 something with back problems and it is the best financial investment we have ever made.
u/Derek-naplab [Naplab.com](http://Naplab.com) Used them when I bought my last mattress and I love it so much. I ended up with the Brooklyn Bedding hybrid. I'm a large guy and my wife isn't small. We do rotate it when the time changes, so twice a year.
OK, I tried making a post about this but it kept getting deleted by filters. I'm shopping for a new mattress. I spent a week last month sleeping at my aunt and uncle's place where their guest bed is a Brooklyn Bedding Hybrid. I liked it pretty well, though it could have been, like, a notch softer. The problem is, they don't remember what firmness level they bought. I'm 5'9", \~230lbs and almost exclusively a side sleeper. I get pressure points in my hips/lower back and shoulders and can sometimes have problems with my bottom arm falling asleep. My question is, should I got with a medium from BB or go with the firm and get a topper if that's too firm? Is the topper you can bundle in with the mattress worth the \~$200 upcharge?
Where are you located? Check out SleePare which has like a dozen locations around the country. They have all the online brands in the store to try out and buy. I only learned of them years after I bought my last mattress. But I did a ton of online research and then also got overwhelmed and I decided to split the difference of all the things I vs my wife wanted to compromise. Ended up with a hybrid from Brooklyn Bedding and got lucky. We love it and have had it for 5 years now. Still love it. Brooklyn is great because they have 3 different options of firmness (soft, medium, or firm) for almost every mattress they carry.
I really liked my Brooklyn bedding mattress - lost it in a breakup or else I’d probably still be sleeping on it. I bought it maybe 8 years ago so hopefully quality is still the same. They’re pretty affordable so you could get the more premium version in your price range.
I've bought two Brooklyn bedding mattresses in the last eight years and one sealy (all different sizes) and the Brooklyn bedding ones have held up remarkably well with daily use and regular rotation (every six months). Unfortunately the ones that I've bought are no longer being sold but I've overall been happy with them as a company. Also their pillows are great!
