Mattress shopping is def overwhelming w/ all the options. Look at Brooklyn Bedding or Leesa instead of those big names. Brooklyn Bedding's Signature Hybrid gives you solid support and comes in different firmness levels, plus factory direct pricing keeps it way cheaper. If you sleep hot their Aurora Luxe has actual cooling tech. Leesa's Sapira Hybrid is another balanced option that works.
Brooklyn Bedding Aurora if you run hot. Game changer for night sweats.
If you want something that balances cooling and support for two different sleep styles, you could maybe check out Brooklyn Bedding’s Aurora Luxe since it has cooling built in and comes in multiple firmness levels to fit both side and back sleepers. Another option is the Signature Hybrid, which is a good all-rounder that stays supportive without feeling too hard, and it usually fits right in your budget. Both are strong choices if you’re trying to avoid buyer’s remorse while still upgrading from your current setup.
If there is one thing you don't go cheap on is a mattress! I know its a mattress salesmen pitch but it is true...Don't skimp on something you will be using 1/3 of your time and which has a multitude of impacts on your health. First you need to determine your predominant sleep position for firmness. Don't go all memory foam unless its a tempurpedic, and those are expensive. On the budget friendly side stick with combination of memory foam and springs, I can honestly recommend Brooklyn Bedding , I had the Auorora Luxe and I got the best sleep ever as a side/back sleeper who suffered from shoulder and back pain. Helix is their upscale brand and equally good with more premium materials. When we upgraded to a king size bed, we went with organic latex from Avocado. The good thing about the internet only vendors is long trial periods and no interest payment plans if you cant unload a few thousand on the spot. Costco is another viable option with their forever return policy also, and they have good prices on run of the mill mattresses. Stay away from mattress and furniture stores, quality is crap and huge markups.
tested some but the durability's kind of hit or miss. If you're willing to shop outside Costco, I'd srsly consider looking into the Aurora Luxe by Brooklyn bedding. the specs were hard to beat. it hits the plush but supportive feel without collapsing in the middle
Not under $1k unfortunately (although was closer when I bought mine), but for online brands, I’ve been extremely happy with my Brooklyn Bedding Aurora. On year six I think (? Maybe more) without even a hint of sagging. As someone else mentioned, hybrids are the way to go as far as that. Queen size of this model is $1500 currently.
We have 2 mattresses from Brooklyn Bedding and have been happy with them. Our first one is 7 years old and we’re using it in our guest bedroom, everyone who sleeps on it comments that they have a great sleep. The one in our bedroom is 5 years old and we’ve had no issues with sagging or anything like that. I really like it and miss it when I’m away from home. Would buy from there again and they’re not crazy expensive.
I swear by my Brooklyn Bedding hybrid mattress. Heaviest at 290 it was perfect for me AND my husband who isn’t plus size. It was recommended to us by our friends and the guy is 6’2, 200 something with back problems and it is the best financial investment we have ever made.
u/Derek-naplab [Naplab.com](http://Naplab.com) Used them when I bought my last mattress and I love it so much. I ended up with the Brooklyn Bedding hybrid. I'm a large guy and my wife isn't small. We do rotate it when the time changes, so twice a year.
OK, I tried making a post about this but it kept getting deleted by filters. I'm shopping for a new mattress. I spent a week last month sleeping at my aunt and uncle's place where their guest bed is a Brooklyn Bedding Hybrid. I liked it pretty well, though it could have been, like, a notch softer. The problem is, they don't remember what firmness level they bought. I'm 5'9", \~230lbs and almost exclusively a side sleeper. I get pressure points in my hips/lower back and shoulders and can sometimes have problems with my bottom arm falling asleep. My question is, should I got with a medium from BB or go with the firm and get a topper if that's too firm? Is the topper you can bundle in with the mattress worth the \~$200 upcharge?
