I have had my Plank Natural for less than a year and I’m looking for a replacement. It sags in the middle and now it is squeaking after a move.
Seconding the plank mattress. I got the natural but I think they’re all optimal for cosleeping. Definitely firm enough and no tufting.
I like it! I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s honestly perfect. I heard it’s got slightly more give because of the springs combined with natural latex, but definitely firm enough and I feel very safe cosleeping on it.
If you truly want firm, you’re on the right track. The Plank is flippable and built with dense foams over a coil unit, so you’re choosing between firm and extra firm, not medium dressed up as firm. Brooklyn Bedding owns that line and builds it factory direct, so there isn’t a traditional Austin showroom, but that also means you get a 120 night trial to test it at home on your actual frame.
If you want to feel the mattress before you buy, start with a few local showrooms that let you lie down for a bit. One brand I point people toward is Brooklyn Bedding, they have a showroom in Orange County where you can try different feels and talk about what your back needs, and the folks there tend to know how their layers and coils work. Their Signature Hybrid and even the firmer Plank options are worth lying on if you’re waking up stiff.
You might wanna look at Brooklyn Bedding’s Signature Hybrid since it runs comfy for side/back sleepers without feeling mushy and if either of you likes a firmer bed, try check out Plank.. it’s basically made for really solid support without feeling harsh.
I have used a Plank mattress for years and it has always been helpful with back pain and sciatica flare ups for my self. You can also flip it to a slightly softer side too. The firmer side is really very firm, as a side sleeper I use the softer side the most often and flip it if I feel like I need more support. Highly recommend.
My wife and I just got rid of our Casper mattress, which we liked very much but it was 8-years-old and beginning to sag, and replaced it with a Plank mattress from Brooklyn Bedding, hoping to get something firmer as I have lower back issues and am a dedicated stomach sleeper owing to vertigo issues when I sleep on my back. My wife is a back sleeper primarily with occasional side sleeping. We love the Plank so far, and I have not awakened with a sore back since we stated using it. It is pretty cool in that one side of the mattress is firm, the other extra firm - you just need to flip it to have the firmness you desire. We are currently using the regular firm side and it seems plenty firm enough without being too stiff.
