Spartan mattress at Brooklyn Bedding. I wasn't even mattesss shopping, just going with my MIL, after going to multiple stores I laid down on one of these mattresses and said, "I'm getting one of these."
I just want to say I just went through this. Ended up buying a Brooklyn bedding co firm hybrid copperflex. They had a sale on there website like 20% off I think? I got so sick of looking I just settled. I got lucky I love it my last matress was so bad... All in all was like 800 if im remembering correctly. I will say though, my old matress was so bad anything was an upgrade. Also just saying anything you see with bad reviews online or 90% of them anyway are the dumbest shit ive ever seen. Look at 3 to 4 star reviews to get a general idea all the people doing one and five star reviews are either insufferable people or paid advistisers (if on Amazon anyways) Either way have had it for 3 months now its been good for a side and stomach sleeper
Brooklyn Bedding Standard hybrid in Medium Firm from Walmart. Had it since early May and I love it.
Switched from an ultra-plush memory foam mattress to a zoned hybrid because my hips kept sinking lower than the rest of me, and that turned out to be the whole issue. The soft bed felt cozy at first but after a few hours my body alignment was wrecked. Woke up every morning feeling like one hip had been carrying my entire skeleton overnight. The zoned support thing sounded gimmicky until I actually slept on it for a couple weeks. Firmer under the hips, softer near the shoulders. Mine’s a Brooklyn Bedding model and the difference was less about “firm vs soft” and more about staying level while side sleeping. Also noticed my pain got worse on nights where I curled up tightly, so posture still mattered too. Mattress helped, but it wasn’t magic by itself.
I have a spinal fusion and I'm a side sleeper; if a mattress doesn't have the right amount of "give" my hips and shoulders kill. I've sworn by the "soft" rated Brooklyn Bedding mattresses for years now. You sink in enough but not so much you feel like you have no support. It's a mix of latex and memory foam with a thick topper which I think makes a big difference. I've tried many of the store brands and bed in box brands and I haven't found anything as good.
Brooklyn bedding hybrid, I'm now a big fan of hybrid foam/spring mattresses for support and longevity (our previous memory foam mattress from Ikea now definitely has a person shaped hollow in it)
