Hey there, this is Dean here from GoodMorning. I totally understand how overwhelming it can get, mattress shopping gets confusing really fast because comfort is subjective and body type can change the experience sometimes. A mattress that feels soft to one person can feel firm to someone else depending on their weight and sleep position, which is why reviews end up sounding completely contradictory half the time. Based on your height, weight, and sleep style, I’d personally point you toward either the Douglas Alpine Hybrid or the Douglas Summit Hybrid. Both are good options for combination sleepers looking for pressure relief without giving up support. I’d also lean hybrid in your case since hybrids generally allow for better airflow and tend to sleep a bit cooler overall compared to all-foam mattresses, which sounds important since you mentioned sleeping hot. Between the two, the Alpine Hybrid is a bit more balanced and responsive overall, while the Summit Hybrid has a more substantial support feel. The Summit may feel a little firmer than the Alpine because it uses thicker comfort and transition layers designed to provide more progressive support. Hope that helps narrow things down a bit!
Hey, Great question! I’d probably lean toward the Logan & Cove Frontier for you. Since you’re specifically looking for a plush hybrids. The Frontier has a softer, more cushioned feel right from the quilted Euro-top, so you get that plush comfort and pressure relief without losing support underneath. It also has an added layer of aeroduct micro coils along with zoned pocket coils, which helps with body contouring, motion isolation, and keeping your spine properly supported while still feeling soft and comfortable. I also think you’d appreciate the cooling and breathability features since softer mattresses can sometimes sleep warm. The Frontier uses cooling nanofibres in the cover, cooling gel foam, and two layers of coils that allow a lot more airflow throughout the mattress. Overall, if your goal is a plush hybrid that feels cozy, supportive, pressure relieving, and breathable, the Frontier is probably the best fit in the GoodMorning lineup for what you’re describing. Hope this helps!
We've made adjustments to the Logan & Cove lineup in the last couple of years after hearing about some common run-ins that LC users were having! But I totally understand you preferring what the Douglas lineup has to offer. I just sent you another DM, but if you're worried about the Alpine/Summit firmness, you could always opt for the Original hybrid mattress. It just has a couple less cooling features (no phase-change material or cooling fibres in the top cover), but the coils offer the same amount of breathability.
Really? Which mattress? I've had the Original and now the Alpine and find them pretty firm. That being said before the Original (first one I bought), I was using a pillowtop..
I'm a fan of Douglas, just bought a second mattress (upgraded in size when I moved).
We have had both the Endy and Douglas. Prefer the Douglas by far. I used to wake up with lower back pain with the Endy. Haven't had that problem with the Douglas.
We have had the mattress for probably 2 or so years now I think. We got the Alpine version. But I run very hot when I sleep, so I don't notice a difference in cooling. We would buy a Douglas again. Still happy with the purchase.
I have the Douglas Alpine. I have no regrets. Literally the best mattress I’ve ever slept on. Now I’m not someone who grew up with much money so maybe I’m just used to bad mattresses, but my Douglas is not even comparable to any mattress I’ve slept on otherwise. I’m a side sleeper and my partner alternates between back and side and we have no issues. Very well supported and mattress just conforms to me without making me feel like I’m just sinking into the frame. My partner was experiencing terrible back pain before we got it and it’s basically been gone ever since. She had been trying chiropractors, osteopaths and other questionable medical professionals and had no success and she got that mattress and the pain basically went away in a month. The best part for me is there is basically no motion transfer as I’m a very light sleeper. She gets in and out of bed and I can’t feel it anymore. I’m not saying it’s the best mattress in the world, but it’s the best I’ve had.
Douglas sucks real bad unless you like sleeping on a rock... and the customer service is pretty braindead as well so avoid that. Side sleepers... 6', 200lbs... got the Sealy Posturepedic Luxury Lainey model after trying two of the Douglas mattresses (tried my brothers Alpine and actually ordered the Summit). The PLL is a dream! There was a cheaper option in Sleep Country that was pretty good but the feel of this bed STILL amazes me half a year in.
I've been sleeping on a Douglas (Alpine? the upgrade one) and had completely forgotten about that until seeing this post. It's been over a year now. It's extremely comfortable. I love it.
