I have a Douglas. First mattress I've had that's actually comfy. To be fair everything I used in the past was Ikea. My partner likes it too
We got the summit, king size Mattress shopping is incredibly intimidating, there's so many to choose from. We were looking at sleep country Canada and big furniture stores, everything was coming in around 2,000 bucks for a decent mattress with springs in it, when I saw the price of the Douglas it was kind of a no-brainer to get the top of the line one. And we've been happy with it. I think it's been 6 months, and I have no complaints. I think we still have another 6 months to return it if we don't like it, but I don't see us doing that. We really didn't like the Douglas pillow though. I don't know if I set it up right but the shredded memory foam is very lumpy. But it came "free" with the mattress so 🤷
We are one week in with our new Douglas Summit and what a change from our old Sealy. My body is still adjusting to it but I am very happy with our purchase. Plus the 365 sleep trial is a bonus.
8mo into a Douglas Summit. Loving it so far!
Douglas sucks real bad unless you like sleeping on a rock... and the customer service is pretty braindead as well so avoid that. Side sleepers... 6', 200lbs... got the Sealy Posturepedic Luxury Lainey model after trying two of the Douglas mattresses (tried my brothers Alpine and actually ordered the Summit). The PLL is a dream! There was a cheaper option in Sleep Country that was pretty good but the feel of this bed STILL amazes me half a year in.
BE CAREFUL with what you order from Douglas. We ordered 4 items; King Summit mattress, premium sheet set/pillows, King Headboard and Foundation in Charcoal. Have received the mattress and sheets but waiting almost a month on the headboard and foundation. Getting the run around for 2 weeks from customer support (blind chats and phone calls) about shipping logistic challenges. Apparently it’s only with the King sized stuff. They allegedly have everything but can’t figure out how to ship ours and “other customers orders” to them. As seniors, sleeping on the mattress in the floor for almost a month has been a challenge. If you look at other threads you get a “canned” logistics challenges response from GoodMorning parent company reps. Completely unacceptable.
No, there is certainly a difference. My Douglas Summit feels a lot better then the, 3 now, foam mattresses I've tried.
Douglas Summit. Best mattress we've ever bought.
Douglas Summit. It's been great!
Second for Douglas, our back problems with our old mattress have disappeared.
I guess more firm than not. It's not like sleeping on a plank but not a feather mattress. It was definitely firmer that the Sears o-Pedic it replaced, which was a good mattress for it's time. Douglas has a pretty good return policy and they stand by their product. We've had ours for over a year now.
I've had a Douglas for 8ish years and we love it. I think we got an upgraded model, not 100% sure
