My partner is a 130kg+ rugby league player. He’s basically a fridge with bad knees. We’ve got an Ecosa cool comfort mattress. It’s comfy for both of us. It’s on the pricier end, but we got it when they had a 30% off sale (it happens a few times a year) and they have other, cheaper options. It’s one of the “mattresses in a box” companies. They’ve got a decent returns policy, too - you can organise a refund within 100 days, and they’ll come and pick it up and take it to the Salvos.
We've got an Ecosa Cool Comfort mattress - it's super comfy, and it keeps my menopausal self cool.
They said it will seem very firm at first, but take about a week to “settle” into medium-firm. When we first got it out of the box, it was *solid*. Like, the first night it felt like we were sleeping on a wooden board. The next night was better lol it really did settle after a few days. I sleep on my side, and find it really comfortable. But I do like a slightly firmer mattress.
We got the ecosa cool comfort mattress a few months ago, and so far so good. It took about a week for it to settle… the first night it felt like we were sleeping on a wooden plank lol but now it’s *so* comfortable. I love it.
CoolComforts are actual ass. The cooling cover is indeed cooling, but a) that makes the entire mattress slippery af, and b) it doesn't cool that well once you have a sheet over it, but the sheet is gonna spend all night sliding around because of the slick mattress surface. The mattress is also super thick, which only makes it harder to keep the sheets in place, even with the posh deep pocket fitted sheets. They're also heavy enough to make changing the sheets damn near impossible.
Just a reminder that the companies who create these products actively shill their products on these threads. Just a note: I fell for it and brought an ecosa in medium softness and it felt like a block of wood. They did honour their refund / swap thing for me and I got a softer one which is... Okay. Probably worth the price tag but not like the nice secondhand fancy one I previously had. Good luck, sorry I'm not much help.
I have an Ecosa and I love it but it did get taking use to. All I can say is though, get the one with the cooling mat inside and it is definitely a FIRM mattress.
I think I’m just used to a much much softer mattress so for me it’s rather firm. And still is after 6months. But I’m used to it now and love it
Not who you asked but 100% - I notice barely any movement from my partner these days and the bonus is that you get the 100 night trial and if you don't like it then they will refund you and take away the mattress!
Anecdotal, but this is my experience with ecosa. When we were shopping for a new bed, it had to be a California king. We are both tall and have dogs and now kids. The only mstresses from the retailers that we found comfortable were an obscene price. We have had our ecosa California king for 5+ years now, and it has been one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. We have the matching matress topper to go with it, which is a necessity. If we stay in a hotel or in a different bed, we notice straight away that they aren't as comfortable. The only negative is that my side has slumped because we didnt spin the matress enough because sometimes we suck at being adults. That being said, I'll buy another ecosa when it gets unbearable.
Agree with this! We have an ecosa king size and I didn’t think my partner moved much in the night, but we went on holiday and noticed everytime he moved!
Ecosa - super king - hands down
