I love engineered sleep. I bought a king 4 years ago and my daughter a full 2 years ago. We love them. Look at the reviews. They are made in the USA.

r/MattressMattress for side sleepers with back pain: what finally worked for you?

I bought the softer firm they have and it’s good so far. A guy in a post went to the factory and met the family that makes them. The suggestion from the guys that make it was better to get a firmer mattress and add layers to soften it with toppers since you can’t make a soft mattress firmer.

I have had quite a few mattress including the Saatva. So after another failed mattress I did some digging and came across Engineered Sleep. I bought the cush firm after seeing positive posts. I’m a side stomach sleeper and always have every mattress fail on hip area. I’m only on third night but woke up with no pain. The mattress is old school flippable, they use a 14 gauge coil and you can tell it’s going to hold for a while. Has a slight bounce when you turn. Scan Reddit you can see what folks say about it.

r/MattressFor any that have this one, is it worth it?

We went with Engineered Sleep Duo with a 4" latex topper, because it's designed for separate toppers and we can change it later where the Sleep on Latex the topper is built in. We really liked that because Talalay is softer and may not last as long as the coils do, also changing out the toppers sounds really helpful for my significant other who some months likes the supportive latex but then wants the sinking in feeling like memory foam gives (health stuff). SleepEZ was also a good one to look at but it has shorter coils (6 vs 8) than SOL does

for me, avoiding foam was key. that included latex. look at woolroom mattresses or some naturepedic mattresses. i have the eos classic latex free and love it. there is also one byu engineered sleep... duo hybrid that has a lot going on but no foam! engineered sleep makes the woolroom matteresses as i understand. no foam=cooler. no foam=longer lasting.

I got the ES Duo, which they don't make anymore, but would be closest to the Latex Plus Duo Cling. I like it a lot.

Check out Engineered Sleep. I have the Classic Hybrid Cushion Firm and it's about an 8 on the firm scale. It's more like a traditional spring mattress than the modern "hybrid" in that it's mostly coils with a couple inches of polyfoam and a soft cotton cover on top. Really high quality and it's flippable (the same on both sides). They also have the Duo mattress that you can swap the comfort layer on. The guys that own and run it are so nice and very helpful. If you give them a call they will get you the right product and might even be able to make some custom adjustments for you. They also have a 100 day trial and are a small business in South Carolina. Great buying experience with them.

r/MattressSo what companies do we trust? Which do we avoid?

My recent birch natural mattress was a disaster. It was so poorly made and it was so annoying to have to pay $100 to dispose of their poorly made mattress, it wasn’t even the correct size! I would avoid them at all costs. We got an engineered sleep mattress (the duo) to replace it with and it’s amazing so far!

Some brands really do make a noticeable difference. A firm Brooklyn Bedding, Glacier Sleep, Engineered Sleep, or DLX mattress can feel completely different from a firm Amazon, Nectar, DreamCloud, or other imported models, especially those that use lower-quality or lower-density foams. This is where a bit of research and education pays off. It’s not just about how a mattress feels during the first month; it’s about how it performs over time. Mattress build and construction, material quality, foam density, and overall design all influence long-term comfort and support. So, while trying mattresses in-store or taking advantage of trial periods is helpful, understanding what’s inside the mattress can save you from disappointment later. A mattress that maintains its firmness and support over years is worth a little extra attention upfront. Of course to address your question of balancing budget, firmness and comfort may depend on what you consider "budget." Once a budget range is established, age, height and weight along with sleep position, that is when you can move on to an educated way to select your mattress.

I had a Titan Luxe and loved it at first but then the edge support completely gave out in one area and I felt like I was rolling off the bed every night. I was so mad. It was less than 2 years in too! I ended up getting a Comfort Option mattress because the layers can be replaced if they ever wear out. So far I like it but it's only been a year and a half. It uses foam as the base layer so I do expect it to wear out eventually. I'm not sure if I'll replace the layers or go with something else. I found a similar style called Engineered Sleep which combines a removable top layer with coils on the bottom which I think is better for plus size people. I love the idea of only replacing the layers that are worn out though because most of the time the coils are still in excellent shape even when the comfort layers on top are worn. The best mattress I ever owned (and wish I never got rid of) was the *original* Brooklyn Bedding "Best Mattress Ever" which they do NOT make anymore. It had latex layers on top of a high density foam base and it was sturdy AF. It had zero body impressions after like 8 years of use. The only reason I got rid of it was because my husband and I switched to a split king setup. We ended up not liking it (very difficult to snuggle on) and the Titan Luxe was failing anyway so we switched back to a regular king but we had already given away the old mattress.
