I have the same and it’s 10 years old. The spots we sleep on (king size) are very much softer than the middle and I think it’s time to replace although I wouldn’t say it’s uncomfortable. However, we also didn’t rotate or clean/protect it very well.
Commenting mostly so I can find this again and review comments - we have mattress shipping on our list to do in the near future. We actually have a base model Ghost bed from almost 10 years ago. It was the only thing I could really afford at the time when I needed to upgrade to a bigger bed - but this thing has moved 3 times now and is still kicking. We are only recently feeling like our backs are suffering from bad sleep/mattress issues. Never would have expected it to last this long but pleased that it has.
Ghostbed! Ordered it through Costco and arrived quickly. Love it for us.
I love my ghost bed with a 2" foam topper, still firm but not so firm to irritate the enthesitis. Side note - my sleeping got so much better / pain decreased when I trained myself to fall asleep on my back with a pillow under my knees. I wake at some point and then move to side sleeping. Also make sure to sleep with a pillow between your knees when on your side. All these changes maybe a bit uncomfortable at first but worth it in the long run,.
If you’re 6'3", 230 lbs, sleep hot, and like firm, you need to be picky at Costco. I’ve tested and returned a few, and here’s the reality. Most “medium” beds there feel softer under heavier bodies. Memory foam models can trap heat and let you sink more than you expect. Great for pressure relief, not always great for support or cooling. For bigger back or combo sleepers, firmer hybrids tend to hold up better. The Casper Cooling Select runs on the firmer side and sleeps reasonably cool, though the cover can feel a bit slick. Novaform Platinum Luxury starts firm and breaks in to medium firm, but it still has some contour. If you hate that deep sink feel like traditional Tempur style foam, avoid anything too memory-foam dominant. I’d personally skip softer GhostBed styles if you want firm. And be cautious with pillow tops that feel amazing for a few months but lose support fast. Big advantage with Costco is the return policy. You can actually live on it and send it back if it fails you. My advice is narrow it to two firmer options, pick one, and truly test it for 30 nights. Don’t judge it in 10 minutes.
I miss my temperpedic. I had a ton of hip pain before we got it and it lasted about 9 years, developed a little dip and they replaced it under warranty. Had that one for a little while but my wife didn’t like it as much (went for a hybrid) so only had them a few years. Got a ghost bed that we’ve had a few years. It’s ok, love the adjustable split king frame though.
I bought a Ghostbed a couple months ago and I love it.
So my story of a mattress purchase is one that really used the costco return policy. We bought a ghost bed, it was not very comfortable for us, so we bought a sleep number which worked but we could not at the time afford the frame for the sleep number so we used the ghost bed base for two years before getting a sleep number base. I checked costco online (where I purchased the bed) and submitted a return, keep in mind we used the bed for maybe a week after that it sat downstairs unused, they took it back and even disassembled the frame, no questions. To add the Ghost is very firm.
