Helix Dusk Elite. I’ve tried lots. This one is head and shoulders above the rest.
We have a dusk elite and we LOVE it. We came from a purple mattress that we hated with a passion and it has been worlds better, toon about a week to soften up but it’s been perfect.
Having real issues finding a good mattress me and my partner like. We want something that feels squishy and luxurious when you get in but also supports us properly (we're mid-30s and definitely notice the difference a supportive mattress makes now!) - I don't want to feel like I'm just lying on a flat board and we're both side sleepers and so need some cushioning! We like the feeling of foam but worry about longevity. We've slept on an original foam Emma mattress for a month (when dog-sitting for family) and liked it but have seen loads of reviews about dipping and lacking longevity - if we're going to spend £1000 on a mattress we'd like it to last at least a few years without dipping. We bought a Simba hybrid pro a while ago but it's terrible, I had a Simba pro in the past and loved it (squishy and cloud like but firm) but they must have changed their materials because the new one just feel cheap and hard - there's zero movement isolation and I'm bouncing around every time my partner rolls over so we're going to send it back. I will say we also tried a Simba Luxe (refurbished) and found it incredibly soft - to the point we weren't sure if our one was faulty, so we sent it back within the 30 day window. We also have a Dusk hybrid mattress in our spare room but again, it's just too hard to be comfortable for us and doesn't give us that sink-in feeling. We're gonna get ourselves to Dreams & Bensons to lie on a bunch but wanted to see what brands/mattresses the great British public love.
I'm a side sleeper who runs hot. Just bought a King size Helix Elite for about $3600 and am absolutely obsessed with it. Tbh was twice what we were planning to spend but we went to multiple mattress showrooms and it was by far the best mattress we tried. It's a lot cooler than my previous mattress (Casper which I hated) and even though the mattress is a lot firmer, it's also somehow more comfortable??? Like the mattress feels supportive but also cushy on top at the same time. I don't usually have back pains but was starting to get back and hip issues on my old mattress due to pregnancy, and a few nights on the Helix made those go away. If you can find a showroom that has the Elite (most show rooms we went to only had the Luxe, which is one tier down and nice but didn't blow us away like the Elite) definitely try it! The salesperson remarked they don't even push the Helix mattresses because they sell themselves which I absolutely believe.
I respectfully disagree. Loved the RX bed, but you can feel every move of a partner. Felt slightly warmer to me, but no real gripes besides movement/spring more than I like. If it moved slightly less, or was slightly less expensive all would have been forgiven. I love Tempurpedic, and had a cloud breeeze for 9 years as my main bed, but that price for a cooling mattress around $5k was too high. Helix Elite was excellent IMO. 3Z’s make BB too, and I wanted that feel without microcoils - thus I purchased Thermo Balance Elite.
Any thoughts on the Sealy Posturpedic Elite HighPoint II? My wife and I returned a Helix Elite recently. She hated it and I loved it. We hate the split king so just trying to find something we both like. We were debating between the Sealy, Tempurpedic Pro Adapt or a Purple Restore. We are coming from a pure latex mattress. We have had it for 13 years and it’s been pretty good for about 8 years but really went down hill for us.
