If you did ok with Leesa that long, why not another? The same company (3Z’s) who makes Leesa also makes Brooklyn Bedding (my favorite), Helix (also great but pricey), Nolah (best value and still quite good), Bear, and some others. I liked the Leesa Legend Chill, but really disliked their other beds. It felt cheaper than other lines they make. The Brooklyn Bedding Thermo Balance Elite was my favorite bed I tried, and what I bought. I’m extremely happy with it. Helix Midnight Elite was my second favorite, but pricier. Saatva RX was quite good, but even more expensive than Helix. Nolah Evolution was the best quality low cost option I tried ($1450 for a king), but I was willing to pay more for their highest quality offerings. Casper was ok for all foam, and exceeded my expectations at a solid price point. I hated nectar, because I could feel springs on the side and any partner movement. Purple will either be loved or hated, but feels weird to me. Simmons Beauty Rest had a lot of great options, but was pricey, though I preferred this to newer and in some cases more expensive Sealy models under the same umbrella. Tempurpedic was what I had before Brooklyn Bedding, and I think they are excellent, but they’re very expensive and not necessarily better at double the price.
I went to a place that had Nolah Evolution, Wink Bed (multiple), Leesa (multiple), Puffy (3), and Brooklyn Bedding (3). Trying them on close succession was super helpful. They didn’t have helix but I tried this somewhere else (midnight luxe and elite), as well as Saatva (classic, Rx, and their all foam beds). I also tried others I passed on for being too cheap and feeling cheap, or for being over $3,500 which was above what I would spend. Remember that Helix, Brooklyn Bedding, Leesa, Nolah, Bear, and a few others are all 3Z’s brands made in Arizona at the same factory. - Helix Midnight *Elite* (edit, incorrectly wrote luxe) was a winner but… there were two things I didn’t love. While being super comfortable, supportive overall with great edge and mid support, and felt cool - it had a little more spring than I liked, and was slightly firmer than some other beds. Part of the firmness and spring comes from having two levels of springs. One at the lower level and micro springs higher up. It’s also priced as a premium option. While cheaper than Tempurpedic and Beauty Rest, it’s just not an amazing value option where you must love it to pay $3k+. At $2k or slightly above, this would have been an instant buy for me. (Edit for clarity: Luxe didn’t feel as supportive, or overall as nice as more expensive Luxe) - Nolah Evolution felt remarkably similar to Midnight *Elite* for being half the price. It’s not quite as supportive, doesn’t have as much spring feel, but felt “right” for someone wanting something between medium and soft. I loved this bed. While I preferred Helix slightly, at half the price - I almost bought this because it’s insane value and very comfortable. - Leesa was not my thing. They had sent me a targeted offer for Legend Chill which was a great value at almost 50% off retail and had great reviews. I just didn’t want to mess with this if I couldn’t try it. The two I tried in store didn’t feel as substantial to me. The Legend Chill was not something I could try, but I tried the Sapira and it was too floppy and so cheaply made that I could feel the coils on the side so took a pass. - Wink Bed. I tried firm and soft. It’s a quality and comfortable bed, but I hated this bed in both feels because it was way too springy for my taste. I come from Tempurpedic and Sealy gel foam beds and my partner can feel any move I made. People seem to love or hate this bed. The store owner told me he sells a lot of them, but it’s returned sometimes because of firmness or spring. - Brooklyn Bedding. I tried the CopperFlex, Signature, Aurora. I liked them all, and prices were great, but I didn’t love any of these. I preferred the Helix Elite and Nolah Evolution, and the Nolah price is just phenomenal. - Puffy. This felt great and supportive. I love their highest end bed the most, but it’s a little too firm for my taste, and moved more than I liked. It barely fit my below $3,500 range and I preferred other options. - Saatva. I loved the RX bed. It’s a softer Helix Midnight Elite, but you can feel the movement slightly more. If this were cheaper, I would have bought this. The classic was way too firm and springy for my taste. The full memory foam bed they made was actually phenomenal. It was the only all foam bed I found as good as temperpedic, and could have happily bought that or Rx. - Tempurpedic. Great for my taste, but too expensive to get one of their premium beds. What did I buy? Thermo Balance Elite from Brooklyn Bedding. Why? I called 3Z’s. I told them exactly what I said above about their beds on their various brands versus others and what I wanted. They said the best option for a very supportive bed like the Helix Midnight Elite that was my favorite, but had more cooling, less movement (1 coil set, no micro coil), and very slightly less firmness on the medium firmness was the Thermo Balance Elite in Medium. I asked why elite and not the cheaper version, and they said it has an improved spring system for middle support and higher density premium phase change foam. They also said if I don’t love the bed, they’d give me back $1,200 and switch me out to a Nolah bed. My Thermo balance elite comes next week, and it was $600+ cheaper than Helix Midnight Luxe. I didn’t want to buy a bed I didn’t try, but they gave me a great price, promised me a refund of $1,200 and a replacement to Nolah Evolution bed (which i did try and like) if I wasn’t happy. So my advice is give the Midnight Luxe time if you do have it, and then if you don’t love it, don’t keep it. It’s an expensive bed and 3Z’s has a ton of great options, and Saatva does too.
I respectfully disagree. Loved the RX bed, but you can feel every move of a partner. Felt slightly warmer to me, but no real gripes besides movement/spring more than I like. If it moved slightly less, or was slightly less expensive all would have been forgiven. I love Tempurpedic, and had a cloud breeeze for 9 years as my main bed, but that price for a cooling mattress around $5k was too high. Helix Elite was excellent IMO. 3Z’s make BB too, and I wanted that feel without microcoils - thus I purchased Thermo Balance Elite.
We have one of the new king size Helix elite models from this year (they revamped the design earlier in 2025) and are loving it so far. We tried most of the brands you mentioned in stores and were originally thinking to get a Saatva or Winkbed. Then we tried the Helix Midnight and Sunset Elites and it was a game changer. Noticably more comfortable than any other mattress we tried and definitely better than their more popular (cheaper) midnight luxe model. Sure it cost more, but we wanted to invest in the best.
We got the Sunset since we're side sleepers and pretty light. Midnight was really good too, but personally preferred a little softer.
Hello all, I recently bought a Helix Midnight Elite mattress, and while overall I like it, it has an issue that many mattresses have for me. The issue is that the space between my waist and the mattress is not completely filled when I'm laying on my side. My hips are particularly wide vs. my waist (for the women reading this, even many "curvy" jeans leave me with a gap in the waistband!) so I need something with peak body conforming abilities I think. I know a softer mattress is is usually recommended for this, but when I tried the softer Helix Sunset Elite mattress in the store, I felt like I was laying on a slope where my shoulders were lower than my hips. I assume this is due to the zoned coils. So I'm looking for suggestions/specific recs - should I: 1. Get a soft mattress topper? If so, recs? 2. Buy a lumbar support pillow? If so, recs? 3. Start over, return the mattress and get a different one.

My shoulders and hips sink in a good amount, I'm just still left with what feels like a waist area that's not completely supported!
I got a helix midnight elite a few weeks ago and I’m in love!
I love my Helix midnight Elite
I have that mattress on display in my showroom here in downtown Los Angeles and I love the way it feels. I personally sleep on a king coil mattress and moved my Helix Elite mattress to the guest room.
The midnight elite layers are not supportive enough for my 230 lb body. I have plus elite comfort layers coming soon because I’m still in my trial Period. More to come!
Funny enough, I received my midnight elite and I can’t wait to go to sleep !!! ❤️❤️❤️ https://preview.redd.it/3o16zk2ebteg1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33c739b369c86db2e61ed4469c0caa602c18a591 I will report back in 30 days! Update: Helix matched me with the midnight elite. I am a 230 pound side sleeper with lower back issues. After two weeks, my lower back was starting to hurt even more because the midnight sinks in very deeply with someone of my size. You don’t even notice because it is so very comfortable however, as your sinking, you realize that it is throwing you out of alignment. I swapped out the layers for the Plus because it is more of a medium firm, and definitely a noticeable difference. The center of the mattress keeps me more Lifted and it is somewhat more sturdy while being comfortable at the same time. I remember seeing on the website that the plus model had Titan Coils in their detailed description of the layers. I inquired with helix and they told me that all elite models have the same coil base system including the plus, but never addressed whether or not they were Titan coils, which I definitely saw on the website. It has me wondering whether the foundation is sturdy enough to last. And nowhere on the website does it say that the coil system is the same for all elite models. It’s leaving a sour taste in my mouth and I probably will be returning the mattress because paying over $3000 for a bed that may not have a solid coil system bothers me. In addition, the agent told me that she was getting her information from internal sources, but not appearing on the website is odd to me. I was looking to have this information confirmed by a production manager, but yet the same employee who gave me these details responded yet again with the same answers. Still not answering the question about the Titan coils. I would think that helix would use a stronger coil system for the plus model; therefore swapping out the base. If you google this information online, you will see the confliction. coils are designed especially for sleepers
I am a 230 pound side sleeper with back pain and a hip replacement. I tried both models today. I am still on trial and first started with the midnight elite, which was way too soft because of the memory foam which threw me out of alignment. I next tried the helix plus elite which was still too soft and had too much sinkage which threw me out of alignment; again because of the memory foam. Today I tried both the twilight and the dawn elite. The twilight elite was definitely firmer than both the midnight and plus, however, it still uses the memory foam, and I was still out of alignment sinking in too far. Surprisingly enough I landed on the dawn elite and I was in complete heaven. This mattress held my torso up perfectly, allowing me to relax, yet the memory foam cover, as well as the top comfort foam layers were enough for me to be comfortable on my side. I was completely in shock. My shoulder even felt OK as I laid there for 15 minutes. I was in total peace laying there amongst all the people around me. LOL the Dawn elite is more buoyant and will keep you lifted while having a slight cushion feeling on top…. minimal sinkage. This is my experience being a heavier side sleeper so it may be different for other people, but thought I would share. My dawn comfort layers will be arriving soon. ❤️
I tried the helix midnight elite, plus elite and Dawn elite. All of these mattresses have zoning in the coils and the comfort layers …they did not align with my 6‘4“ 230 lb body and was pressing up against my ribs, causing pain, as well as syncing my body too far because of the dense memory foam, throwing me out of alignment. i’m assuming that the helix mattresses you’re referring to are the Luxe? I can help you with the winked luxury firm mattress – I tried this for 30 days and it was too firm for me because I am a side sleeper and found that it was rolling me onto my back in the middle of the night because of the pressure on my hips. Not sure how the helix Luxe models fair for pressure relief.
Do you sink far into the Nolah evolution comfort plus? I feel like that mattress would sag and throw me out of alignment.
This struggle is very real and I’m going through this right now. I am 6 foot four 230 pound side sleeper. I started on a water bed with baffles. Then had latex hand tied, medium firm, tufted bed that lasted 20 years….medium firm, buoyant, responsive, amazing comfort. It needed to be replaced because there was a dip in the center from me sleeping in the middle all of the time. I then went with a purple restore plus, which had an ergo alignment layer… after 30 days there was not enough pressure relief for my shoulders and my ribs were hurting. I could feel that alignment layer on my body (below my ribs). Next I tried the purple restore premiere because I ❤️ the grid…. this did not have the ergo alignment support layer. It was amazing for the first 30 days…. slept for many many hours comfortably because It was the very familiar buoyant feel & was supportive but shortly after a month, it started to dip in my torso area, throwing me out of alignment. I next went to the winked luxury firm which I thought was amazing. However, there was not enough pressure relief. The mattress was 13 inches tall and in my opinion did not have enough comfort layers. …and probably because of my weight it rolled me onto my back in the middle of the night. I am currently on the helix elite series. The midnight did not have enough support, and I sunk in too deep due to the memory foam; tried the plus elite layers and the same thing too much sinkage throwing me out of alignment. I’m learning that when you’re older and have lower back pain or back issues, you need to be very cautious of memory foam because it can easily throw you out of alignment and I believe the OP is correct in which a medium firm to slightly firmer is the key firmness depending on your weight. I was able to try the helix Dawn elite in a showroom yesterday and my back felt like heaven. It was somewhat buoyant and very supportive yet this line mattress had very little memory foam and more support forward foams. It is very important to remember that if you’re looking for pressure relief you need either latex or any buoyant foam! If the Dawn elite doesn’t work, I am gonna go back to a latex hybrid. I bumped into engineered sleep mattress company which incorporates latex in many of their models: https://engineeredsleep.com/products/duo-latex-mattress I am intrigued with the design with the comfort layers right on top with a cling technology that holds it in place …very cool… this is my next adventure. I really need to find a comfortable bed soon my back is killing me!
Female, older, mostly side and back sleeper-I went with Helix and now I'm on my third Helix mattress in 16 years. I had a basic Helix in 2015 but had health issues and gained about 90 lbs. so it became too soft. I moved to a Helix Plus in 2020 and loved it until I lost all the weight I gained (and then some) and it was too firm. I know have a Helix Midnight Elite and so far, so good. I am sleeping better and longer than usual and have no morning aches and pains. Also, the 2015 Helix was gifted to a nephew who is still using it and the Plus given to a neighbor who loves it. I found a brand I liked and stuck with it.
I posted my recent experience with Helix Midnight Elite and spoiler, it was not a positive one. They lied about its build materials (or blatantly forgot to include it) so ultimately the mattress wasn't configured accurately to what was ordered. On top of that, the customer experience was so lackluster after I caught on, that it left a very poor impression. So no, I wouldn't say its worth it but plenty of people like the brand and its products. What might be a terrible experience for me, might be a stellar one for you.
