I bought my 14yo twins the Helix core twilight mattresses and they are loving them. No need for all the bells and whistles. They are extremely comfortable but firm mattresses. Super happy with them, especially at under $1k each on Black Friday and TikTok coupon
I'm going to advise against a helix. We've tried 2 different types from them. One was way too firm and the next one below that sinks so much that we can't sit up in bed to relax and its awkward trying to roll and change positions. We plan to change to a different brand when we can. We also sleep very hot so we'll be avoiding a mattress with memory foam in it.
I should've went with Casper! We got a helix and absolutely HATE it.
My partner and I were in the exact same boat. We’re both restless sleepers, and our old mattress made it feel like we were sleeping on a giant bowl of jelly—every tiny move turned into a full-body wave. I used to wake up annoyed *at nothing*, just because the bed wouldn’t stop wobbling. What finally helped us was switching to a **memory foam hybrid**. Full memory foam did isolate motion really well, but I personally felt like I was cooking in there after an hour. Hybrids felt like a good middle ground—less “sink,” better airflow, but still enough foam on top to cancel out most of the bouncing. If it helps, we ended up getting a medium-firm hybrid with a thicker comfort layer (I think it was like 4–5 inches of foam on top), and that combo made the biggest difference. Firmer ones felt nicer in the showroom but didn’t hide movement nearly as well once we actually slept on them. Brand-wise, I’d check out stuff like **Helix**, **WinkBed**, and **Emma** if they’re available where you are. We tried Helix first and stuck with it because it just… worked. Not magical, but we finally stopped waking each other up every time someone scratched their nose. If you can, try places with good return policies instead of relying on the 5-minute showroom test. Some mattresses felt amazing when I was lying there thinking “hmm yes, comfort,” and then turned into a regret sandwich the second night.
Helix is the closest thing that works for me. I think the hybrid stays cool
We have a Helix mattress - it's a hybrid. I love it. We did a lot of research before buying to make sure we got something appropriate for our sizes and sleep positions and everything.
I purchased the Casper- all foam- returned in a month I then purchased a helix- hybrid - one has lasted 9 years, and I’ve purchased 2 more for other bedrooms
We’re currently testing two hybrids, Helix and Amerisleep, both are so much cooler than our old no name memory foam. Also good Brooklyn Bedding cooling mattress covers instead of the cheap $20 ones from Amazon. I’m sure it’s a combination of factors but it’s been great so far
I totally disagree. We bought a Helix with coils and are returning it and replacing it with a new Casper all Latex/foam. We found that the hybrid had very little support on the edges and we are edge sleepers. Which kind of mattress is better is an opinion and we all have our own
I’ve had mine for 6 years and I absolutely love it
I’ve had a Helix mattress for 5 years and still get excited to lay on it every night
