If there’s a specific hotel you sleep great at I’d try and figure out what the bed they’re using is. If you can’t find it online then next time you’re there pull back the sheets and take some pictures and ask here. I sleep on an old Posh+Lavish, as they stopped zoning their support recently I wouldn’t go with a current model personally as the zoning is a must have for me on their beds. Beds I sell that I’d consider for me: Diamond Mattress Veil, Diamond Mattress Snowbird Firm, Technogel Favola, Avocado Luxury Tight Top, Technogel Atmosphere Medium. Those all have zoned support that works for me. The King Koil Intimate Michelson Medium is the one bed without zoned support that I’m able to lay on without feeling like it’s going to make my sciatica act up. Sorry that it sounds like the stores around you suck, we generally encourage people to lay on the beds for a while without us around once we narrow it down to a few. We also have a very liberal return policy so we’re a lot more motivated to get it right the first time.
Most (maybe all) of the king Koil Intimate, Reserve, Natural lines are tufted, other than hybrids. Maybe some other lines too.
I sell King Koil, it’s inaccurate.
Yeah, Stearns 100% isn’t worth that kind of money anymore if you’re trying to get 10+ years out of a mattress. Check out King Koil Intimate, Diamond Black Diamond quilted, or Brooklyn Bedding Thermobalance Elite, all of those will have models of a similar feel and equal/better quality/warranty at a lower price.

We just brought in Avocado to our store and the luxury Box Top is super soft. My favorite bed they make. Only one they add talalay to the mattress. I would try that. King koil intimate Michelson is also pretty soft. Most comfortable bed I ever laid on was a McCrosky 2-3 years ago. Was $30k but felt awesome.
The only mattress I would tell people will sleep cold is technogel. Every other mattress has properties to help you mot get hot, but technogel is the only thing that sleeps cool. They are slightly higher than your price though. It depends on the kind of mattress you want, King Koil intimates is a great line, we sell the Michelson which has over 3000 support coils in a queen and another 7000 micro coils. Avocado makes a good mattress if you want to try latex.
For coil beds I like the King Koil Intimate line with 3000 support coils (not counting the 7000 mini coils), my body responds best to latex. My ultra plush latex bed has more support than almost anything in my store. Anything from Diamond with their 9 series coil: Technogel line, Snowbird line, marble (which is super firm), I think their generations line has the 9 series coil, but not something I show.
King koil intimate! It’s been amazing
I just bought a King Koil Intimate as well! I switch from side to side and ultimately land on my back in the morning. I hope it lasts...
So far its the best thing I have laid on....fingers crossed it just gets better!
Mine is somewhat flexible. It is kind of heavy but no where near as heavy as the Stearns & Foster I tried. That thing was a behemoth! I can still lift it to put sheets on and what not. It might depend on what firmness level you end up getting and how thick it is. Mine is 16"
King Koil medium. I’ve just gone through this. It’s a challenge. 😂
I'm a back and side sleeper. We got a hybrid medium by King Koil (went to the Sit & Sleep, spent 2h laying down on various mattresses and picked that one). I think it's money well spent.
I recently bought a mattress and I'm glad I went to some stores and tried them out first. I learned I don't like memory foam. I ended up getting a King Koil hybrid latex and I love it. It was expensive, but my back pain has almost completely disappeared so I'm not too mad about it. I found a few stores too that had examples of online bed in a box mattresses so you could try them first.
You don’t need to spend $10k. So you need to go try a few out; I recommend only trying 3 max on one trip. Personally, I go to Macy’s furniture gallery (the bigger the better) b/c they have a large selection of brands. Personally I have a king size King Koil and love it. Just remember 1. Ask them how long it has been on display. The longer it’s been out the more “broken in” it will be. So your new mattress will be a lot firmer (between 10-25% depending on how long the floor model has been in display). 2. Take your time and lay there for a while and in different positions. To ensure you’re well supported and comfortable. 3. Buying a mattress and finding one can be the most frustrating experience. That’s why I recommend to only try 3 per visit and also t
