I moved to a new house. I did the research and testing and bought a Kingsdown (Select Pinot cushion euro pillow top). We were ok with the price point and liked how it felt. Previous bed was a helix (mattress in a box). I purposely didn't research any mattress in a box. The comfort was ok ish, and it detrioted quickly. I can say we hade it for 6 years. But we have been unhappy with it for the last 2 years. Now the issue is that the kingsdown could not go upstairs. We have just bought a new bed (king sized) so different size is out of question. Staircase is staircase. There is no other way upstairs. Are there any other options that could solve this other than a mattress in a box? What mattress in a box can get me as close to a kingsdown feel? Appreciate any help/advice ... We are in the middle of moving and this threw a big wrench in everything. UPDATE: Appreciate all the input. It was a frustrating day. Basically the delivery folks couldn't fit the mattress. They damaged it trying to take it upstairs (or take it back ... Not sure). Kingsdown considered this a regular refund vs a damaged delivery. So that's frustrating. After all the comments, I explored SleepEz, Helix Midnight Lux, and Engineered Sleep. Ended up with Engineered Sleep Latex Duo Plus. So far the company has been super communicative, and mattress should arrive tomorrow (crossed fingers. So hopefully limited air mattress says). We opted against the SleepEz as we were hesitant going 100% latex. Helix we kept as last resort. We know it's OK. But we are hoping better than OK for the $$$ ...

I have a 5 year old $5k Kingsdown and I'm here researching a replacement already. The center has become so soft my wife and I roll to the center. Would never purchase another.

I have a Kingsdown that's 10 years old and still going strong. It's a spring mattress with a thick pillow top and firm support underneath. I want to say the exterior fabric is bamboo but I'm not sure. I can say it sleeps pretty cool whatever fabric it is. As a side sleeper too, it's incredibly comfortable and I actually miss it when sleeping on a hotel mattress, so I'd say it's better than hotel quality. I have no idea what their current offerings are but if I was in the market, that's the first brand I'd look at. I recall it being a little pricy 10 years ago so I can only imagine what the price tag on a similar modern one would be though.

I've been very happy with Kingsdown, which you can also get at Sleep Country among other chains. It's also Canadian, along with a bunch of other manufacturers that've been listed here

The only way you're going to get away from some motion transfer is by getting a decent coil system. The purple is absolutely one of the worst mattresses for motion transfer out there. Tempurpedic is really good at avoiding but you'll need to go up to the pro adapt soft line for your desired feel. You could also look at some of the Kingsdown mattress', Matt warehouse has a couple that could serve you well. Sunham or Wilcrest.

We recently moved , and went to pick out a new mattress. Together at the store, we laid on several, and selected a Kingsdown mattress. It’s been a wonderful one! I’m menopausal, and take medication that causes even more night sweats, and the mattress is still comfortable. It’s the perfect firm / soft combo as well. Of course, I always use a mattress cover to protect the mattress.

We’ve had our Endy for 5 years. It’s quite comfortable. I am 200# and have noticed a bit of a depression where I sleep, but I rarely wake with a back ache. Had a Kingsdown before, was more expensive, and broke down in just 3 years.
