Based on 1 year's data from Mar 14, 2026 How it works

Personally, I like something that's soft while being supporting since I always get mild back pain when I don't sleep in my own bed. So I have a ko⁤ala plus mattress for my specific needs. On the other hand some people like a firmer sleeping surface so they'd go for an option with a harder foam. It all depends on how you sleep

I feel it’s a hit or miss situation with all mattress brands. Recently moved to an unfurnished property and my back was dead by the constant 4 days of packing and moving. Slept on the floor for a week and the cold floor made it worse. Then went into the mattress rabbit hole and always wondered if I put so much money and it doesn’t work out. All the top three, ecosa, sleeping duck and koala had fair share of good and bad review. Bought the koala (firm) at the end and has been great since (people different opinions). At least you have 120 night window to return on all the mattress-in-box brands. Good luck with your journey.

I considered getting an Ecosa (friend's recommendation) but the online reviews were terrible! It really put me off. I consistently saw people say they're too soft/weak at the edges. If this is the case, it might not be well suited to a heavier person. Just something to consider, OP. I don't have to account for some of the issues you've raised, OP, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt but I got a Koala mattress a couple of years ago and sleep really well on it. It's a medium/firm which thankfully isn't too firm as I get tight muscles and can't sleep on anything too hard. But it's definitely not a soft mattress either. I dare say it's 'just right'. Edit: Somebody else here said they're 150kg and didn't like Koala as a bigger person, so might not be suited to you. Best of luck OP, and good work on the weight loss. It's no easy task.

Firm koala mattress is pretty firm. It actually got too firm for me and I flipped it over to the medium firm side instead.

Koala (queen) from Marketplace- about $200. They are super comfortable. We have three in our house 2 queen and 1 king single. Purchased all secondhand but very clean. Easy to transport in the back of an SUV.
