Motion isolation should be top priority. IMO a good hybrid with pocketed coils can work just as well as those zip-and-link setups. The Leesa Original Hybrid does really well for couples dealing with this exact issue. Each coil moves independently so you're not feeling every little movement.
Costco has the hybrid Leesa but branded for them. I don’t know if they have the gel top version but from what I understand they are identical to the ones they sell on their site but much cheaper. We have the top end one and love it.
Not everyone is the same, you need to figure out what you prefer, soft or firm, or in between. I side sleep and prefer a more firm bed. I got the titan, and love it, I tried Leeta and the Costco brands, nova form? Not sure the Costco brands name, they were fine, but too soft for me, soft feel great at first, but for 8 hours I didn’t like it. The titan is firm, but not like hard, just not plush. Not pushing titan brand, but saying figure out what level of firmness/softness you like and find a model that claims that type of firmness/softness.
We got the leesa hybrid from Costco. No back or hip pain. The only drawback is that the edge is not firm.
Honestly this is the best option at your price point. The only cheaper ones are the bed in the box type. Side note going down the mattress rabbit hole. If you're young it might not matter as much. But a nice mattress and good sleep is wild important. Save and get something nicer for your type sleep. Lots of things come into play for mattresses. Beyond firmness you are used to. How do you sleep, example side back, stomach. How firm are you used. Your weight and how long before it says. Are you hear sensitive, certain mattresses retain a lot of heat. We ended up with a Leesa from Costco. The return policy plus decent reviews. We went with a hybrid, so it's memory foam and springs. It was also a bed in a box.
My son is a big guy (6'3" and probably around 250). He needed a bigger sized mattress when his girlfriend moved in so I suggested the Leesa Plus sized Hybrid. We have the original Leesa hybrid mattress and absolutely love it. He took my advice and they both rave about it. He bought the queen size and when they move to a bigger place, they are going to get a King.
We have a Leesa hybrid mattress and love it. My son and his girlfriend have the same thing, except it's the one made for heavier people and they love it too. We were able to test it out at the West Elm store that's in the shopping center across from South Coast Plaza, if that helps
I can’t attest to test-of-time, but we got a Leesa hybrid mattress from Costco when they were on sale for under $1000 and we love it. It’s on the firmer side of midrange.
Mattresses are so subjective. I'd suggest going to a mattress store and trying them out to see what you actually like. That said, we really like our Leesa Hybrid mattress. I would hold out for black friday if you can. I'm sure there will be deals.
