Honestly surprised nobody mentioned Leesa yet. cross shopped Nolah vs Leesa last year for a guest room and the Leesa Original Hybrid won for me. felt basically the same on pressure relief but the coil layer in the Leesa made a real difference for guests who toss and turn. Nolah AirFoam is solid for pure side sleepers but the all foam thing means you sink into one spot all night and thats a dealbreaker if guests are actually staying multiple days. someone on Reddit just put up a [breakdown comparing two Leesa twin models](https://www.reddit.com/r/ProductProbe/comments/1stjmfi/twin_mattress_hunt_ended_with_two_different_picks/) for a guest room and a kids room which is pretty much the same situation you are describing. saved me from overthinking it when i was going back and forth. tl dr both Nolah and Leesa are in the same price tier. Leesa is on Amazon with a 120 night trial and the hybrid is worth the extra for adults. if the twin is for a kid the cheaper foam Leesa Studio is fine, dont overspend on a mattress a 6 year old is gonna use as a trampoline.
Our Leesa memory foam mattress started out great, but after 11 years, it's no surprise that it's no longer doing it for us. My wife is a side/stomach sleeper and has been waking up with back pain, and I sleep on my right side and, in addition to neck and back pain, I've been waking up multiple times per night with a completely numb right arm. Our daughter has a twin innerspring Beautyrest from Costco that she loves so much it makes us a little jealous, so we've been thinking of going back to an innerspring mattress. I'm willing to splurge a bit if it means a decade of good sleep (up to $4,000ish), and have been trying to do research in this sub plus on review sites - there's so much confusing, contradictory, and suspect info out there! I looked into Aireloom - some folks say they're well-made and luxurious, some say they start to sag really quickly and don't have good edge support. I looked into Beautyrest Black/World Class - some say they're excellent, some say they aren't supportive and sleep hot. I looked at what I generally consider to be reputable sites (Wirecutter, Strategist, Wired, etc.), and they all recommend the exact same things, like Helix, Saatva, Nectar...maybe those really are the best, but the frequency with which I see the same types of reviews for the same mattresses makes me suspect those reviews might not be as unbiased as they claim to be, especially given the number of not-so-great reviews in this sub. I'd love to hear people's recommendations, either for mattresses, or for actually reputable resources where I could check out trustworthy reviews. Thank you!
I think you’re right on two counts: First, I suspect the memory foam in our Leesa has lost its elasticity as the mattress has hit end of life, so maybe we’re starting to feel the support foam more and it’s effectively gone from medium to firm. Second, for years I slept on solid memory foam side-sleeper pillows, but I started getting neck aches, blamed the pillow, and switched to a squishier shredded memory foam pillow, and the numb arm started after that. I’ll try switching back to the firmer pillow to see if that helps take some of the pressure off my shoulder…maybe that’ll buy me a little time while I figure out which mattress to get next.
I appreciate the heads up! I saw what you’re talking about with Aireloom - the Hotel Collection beds at Macys are like half the price, and don’t seem to get great reviews. I decided to steer clear of those and focus on the Luxetop M1 Luxury Firm (which looks like it might be their medium equivalent).
Not everyone is the same, you need to figure out what you prefer, soft or firm, or in between. I side sleep and prefer a more firm bed. I got the titan, and love it, I tried Leeta and the Costco brands, nova form? Not sure the Costco brands name, they were fine, but too soft for me, soft feel great at first, but for 8 hours I didn’t like it. The titan is firm, but not like hard, just not plush. Not pushing titan brand, but saying figure out what level of firmness/softness you like and find a model that claims that type of firmness/softness.
Ice owned a leesa king size mattress and it was our favorite mattress of all-time. We upgraded to a super king size but leesa is no longer available in the UK. We have a Simba Hybrid now and it's not as comfy as the leesa and starting to sink now. What would you recommend as the closet equivalent to the leesa full foam mattress that is available in the UK in 2025?
i bought a Leesa mattress in 2019.... still is great to sleep on
yeah, it's a nightmare trying to find one that doesn't feel like a deflated pool float after a year, but our leesa has actually held up surprisingly well for going on six years now, which is basically a miracle in mattress time.
