[this one](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/naturepedic-organic-breathable-2-stage-crib-mattress/5568622?color=Natural)! can't speak to a smell as i never noticed one!
We had the naturpedic for a crib mattress. I know they are supposed to be very firm but it was so hard and I wonder if that’s why he didn’t sleep well in his crib. We got a full size Avocado a couple months ago for a floor bed so we can Co sleep and it’s very nice! I will say it felt too soft for the first couple days and we were worried. But it firmed up as it aired out. Now it’s very comfortable. He has been sleeping very wonderfully on it, too.
I had a very similar experience with our Avocado crib mattress. It was extremely lumpy, and worse with the crib sheet on. When we reached out to Avocado, they refused to accept that it was a defect of the mattress and did not refund us our money, despite us submitting a thorough warranty claim, with pictures and videos highlighting the lumps. I would never purchase from them again, and I cannot recommend them, both due to the customer service issues and poor quality product. We were able to get a partial refund through my credit card company. We also ended up getting a Naturepedic crib mattress and, later, a full size bed for my toddler. No issues at all with Naturepedic.
I am getting Naturepedic but I prioritize things like natural fibers, no PFAs, etc. Naturepedic and Avocado are the main options in the “crunchy” category. Otherwise I think Ikea has some cheap cribs & mattresses.
We have naturepedic crib mattresses for our babies + a happsy queen mattress for us. We are very happy with both. Happsy is cheaper and owned by naturepedic. They don’t make baby mattresses though.
Nice! Thanks for the response. We use a Naturpedic crib and twin mattress for our kids. Not perfect, but very close and expensive enough. We still need to replace our mattress. We bought it before we went crunchy and money wise I wasn’t going to buy a replacement for a 1 year old mattress. It’s definitely mid level tox wise.
We bought Naturpedic after our first kid (didn’t know about toxins then). We also bought a mattress protector made from natural stuff (I think sugar cane?). We now have a twin and a crib mattress from Naturpedic and have been happy with them. Since they are pricey, buy what you can afford, whether from them or another company. They do have frequent sales.
Naturepedic for all of our crib mattresses and super happy with them .
We like our Naturepedic one and have used it for two kids, still going strong
I really love Naturepedic. I bought three crib mattresses when my kids were younger and they were absolutely great!
My baby is on a Naturepedic crib mattress. Personally I am less concerned about that type of plastic in waterproofing and would be more concerned about PFAS, so I think it’s actually a great choice, even if it’s not 100% granola; if you’re looking for something totally plastic free, you’ll have to go with a lanolized wool pad and those are really expensive and a huge pain. I actually love the Naturepedic crib mattress cover I sleep on a me down that I’m trying to replace! Pro: it’s probably way done with any off gassing Con: it’s inherited from my non granola in laws so it’s probably full of fiberglass Getting ourselves a replacement mattress and baby a big kid floor mattress is on my to do list. Leaning towards Birch now but still considering Naturepedic
