I tried the Concerto and though I loved the quality and it being organic, it killed my shoulders to the point I needed PT and it never resolved, so I returned the bed at 100 days. Iām 5ā3ā, 114lbs (usually 107-110lbs) and have a ton of spinal issues so need great pressure relief. Would the Chorus or EOS work? The Concerto was marketed as plush but felt like a brick to me. There was no give at all but I loved the support. I need a medium support core for spinal alignment but a softer comfort layer for pressure relief. The Concerto had microcoils but I donāt know what firmness. I think it was more that there was only 2ā of comfort material and latex isnāt great for pressure relief for a small person because thereās too much push back. Curious what your thoughts are.
You couldn't get anything to work? I've been tempted to try the EOS classic but I had such excruiating shoulder pain with the Concerto. By body just can't tolerate latex, it seems.
This is helpful. I had a Naturepedic Concerto before the Leesa that was plush, but unfortunately it was too firm for me - I don't do well with latex - but the support was great just killed my hips and upper back due to pressure points. It was also all natural which I love. I tried a 3" shredded latex topper - double whammy - ouch! - and then a Coop 5" shredded memory foam topper and couldn't get relief. Killed me to let that bed go. I wonder now if a slab dense memory foam topper would have worked. Do you know what density your memory foam topper is?
I am trialing the Leesa now and find it strage - it's not really "soft" - I get pressure points without a topper - but it doesn't feel like it gives good support either. I need a supportive core (but not too firm) but lots of pressure point relief on the comfort layer. What mattress are you on now?
I had the Concerto on trial, but because I'm smallish - 5'3', 115 lbs and have a lot of spinal issues and need a lot of pressure point relief, latex turned out to not be right for my body, I was experiencing excruciating pain. I tried a shredded latex topper and a shredded memory foam topper, but neither worked. I wish I had tried a slab memory foam topper and that might have worked. What the difference between the Arcadia and EOS pillow top?
I love Naturepedic. My body just doesn't like latex. Too much pushback which aggravates my pressure points. Even with a latex topper it doesn't work. I wish I had tried a memory foam topper on the Concerto because I so love the Naturepedic beds and the company. They are also family owned and it shows. Just curious, how is the bed you got different from the EOS? Did you have to buy it in the store as I don't see a way to buy it online.
They have multiple options. I specifically like very soft beds. I totally understand where you're coming from, I've also joked about being the princess and the pea. We haven't bought it yet, but I plan to get the concerto for myself when I get a new bed. We got the Sonoma for my son. From my understanding they also aren't going to get harder in cold weather like memory foam does.
ā¤ļø my Naturpedic! I did the mini coils as I donāt like latex. Best bed Iāve ever purchased.
May not be helpful due to budget but I just purchased a Naturepedic pillowtop hybrid so my wife could have her side medium firm and my side medium soft. Note I paid $1000 on FB Marketplace. Mattress was made 4 months ago and was used in a guest room. I sleep in Airbnbs all the time so it does not bother me. Itās was in like new condition. I also saw all the brand names available on FB marketplace as well.
Iāve had a tuft and needle mattress for about 6 years and liked it. Recently when we moved into our new house, I decided weād try a Naturepedic mattress (the kind with both coils and latex) and move the Tuft and Needle into the guest room. From what Iāve read, Naturepedic is the only brand (thatās not pure latex and has coils) that is truly non toxic and had the certifications I was looking for like GOTS. Many of the certifications out there, for example CertiPur, are invented by the foam/petroleum industry and there are no actual third party checks on safety. I didnāt buy Avocado because there have been some concerns that they manufacture in the same facility as (and I think they own) a mainstream polyurethane mattress brand, and there have been reports that the quality of avocado cannot be guaranteed do to mixing of materials, intentional or unintentional idk. Check out the Mamavation blog on mattresses for more info. Anyways, a few months after sleeping on Naturepedic, we ended up swapping it out with the Tuft and Needle we had put in the guest room. So back on old Tuft and Needle now, despite the less than perfect VOC/Formaldehyde/etc concerns, because Naturepedic just wasnāt comfortable enough. At least now our guests will enjoy purely non toxic sleeping š„²
I burn up on our old naturepedic latex mattress even with a wool topper and fully cotton bedding.
Naturepedic didn't have a weird smell to us.
I'm going to give you a loving side eye š friend, all these things should be only marginally different if at all! They're typically certified by the same organizations soooo... Idk. What does the science based parenting sub say? They're usually really good at finding actual peer-reviewed research š Btw, we have a naturepedic, but only because we needed a full/queen. It smells. It's been, idk, definitely over 6 months, and I still can sometimes smell it on my kid after he wakes up. I'm mildly worried about why would any smell linger for this long, but here we are. (Also, I think I might be in the wrong sub because I probably qualify for a full on granola mom, just based on my recent conversation with another mom irl š¤¦āāļø so take my comment with this in mind š)
