I can't do memory foam, foam, or straight latex as they make me overheat. After trying out EVERYTHING, I have finally settled on a set up that is like this mattress, but cheaper: [https://www.naturepedic.com/eos-pillowtop-latex-free-organic-mattress-buy](https://www.naturepedic.com/eos-pillowtop-latex-free-organic-mattress-buy) Here's what I bought (and have been using): An 8" mattress [https://pocketspringstore.com/products/quad-with-firm-sides](https://pocketspringstore.com/products/quad-with-firm-sides) With a 3" comfort layer on top: [https://pocketspringstore.com/products/quadmini-comfort-coil](https://pocketspringstore.com/products/quadmini-comfort-coil) And an organic cotton quilted encasement to pull it all together: [https://www.mattresses.net/fuorcozimaco.html](https://www.mattresses.net/fuorcozimaco.html) Although I can't escape my waking/sleeping cycle due to my autoimmune, I do sleep deeper and for longer periods of time. The micro-coil topper, coil mattress, and quilted cotton cover allow me to sleep more cool, and more peaceably, if that makes sense. I know that Naturepedic does have stores where you can try out the expensive version I listed at the top here: [https://stores.naturepedic.com/](https://stores.naturepedic.com/) Of course, I can lay on those for 20 minutes and think, "Great," but it's only after three days of tossing and turning that I find out whether they work for me. The one thing about creating one's own mattress by putting together layers (like I mention above), is that I can switch out layers if I need to. Originally, I had an 8" latex mattress on the bottom of a 3" micro-coil topper, but that was too hot for me. So, I bought the 8" coil mattress by pocketspringstore out of TX and got a set up that does work for me. I hope you find a solution. It's a tough thing.
Naturepedic is FANTASTIC but hecka expensive. I swear by them. If you are going to DIY and just need the coil and coil topper, I recommend [https://pocketspringstore.com/](https://pocketspringstore.com/) and then get an organic cotton quilted encasement from Arizona Premium Mattress online.
This. We just got this mattress with different components on each side. I’ve never slept better. It’s such a top notch mattress, handmade by the Amish, all natural without VOCs!
I’m also very very sensitive. Just got a Naturepedic. Was here when they delivered, no off gassing whatsoever. My headaches have almost disappeared since sleeping in this bed. I love it so much.
100%. I can't say enough about thee mattresses. We just replace our older tempurpedic with a naturepedic a couple of months ago and we have never slept better. My constant shoulder pain and migraine headaches have almost disappeared. I love love love our mattress so much. Absolutely zero offgassing too. Worth its weight in gold. We went and tried several mattresses at the natural mattress store in town before we purchased and I am so glad we did.
After A LOT of mattress hunting, I just ordered a EOS Pillow Top. Seemed to check all the boxes and they had a Black Friday sale. Tried it in store and liked the plush configuration for side sleeping (Plush Coils + Medium Latex + Soft Latex Topper). Will see how it goes.
I’ve only had it for 2 weeks, but so far it’s great! Still early to know how much it’s gonna soften up, but so far I’m very happy with the sleep I’m getting.
I recently bought the Naturepedic Eos Pillowtop. Love the mattress but the top layers shift down with my adjustable bed and it doesn’t work. Not sure if it’s because it’s so thick (15”) or this will happen with all layered latex beds on an adjustable bed? Anyone have any wisdom?
It was worth it for me. I've had the EOS pillowtop for two years and love it. I used to have awful hip and back pain from my old mattress but that's completely gone with the Naturepedic. It also was extremely important to me to have an organic mattress and the swappable layers are an added bonus.
Give it time to break in. One night is not enough. I have the EOS pillowtop with the softer coils, medium latex followed by soft latex pillowtop. Even that was really firm for me the first 1-2 weeks. I pushed through and absolutely love it. There are so many configurations and you get free layer swaps the first 100 days. I'm a very hot sleeper but haven't had problems with the latex. I even ended up buying one of their shredded soft latex pillows. It could be worth trying a latex layer to see how you feel.
That’s what I’m on right now.
Naturepedic EOS Pillowtop. Soft latex over medium latex over firm springs as a starting point, but you can swap layers for 100 days if you need to dial it in. If you wait a few days until early February, you can bet they're going to have a President's Day sale to save you some $. The added bonus here is that because you're a big boy, you can get replacement parts as parts wear out, so you don't have to buy another mattress - you just replace parts as needed. All parts are replaceable.
It's made entirely of replaceable parts, it's made by the Amish, it has a 25 year warranty, it's certified Organic, it's totally customizable to whatever comfort preference you have, you can change the firmness as you age by swapping out the parts, it's super comfortable, and it will outlast just about everything out there. Worth $4k? To me, yes. (I say this as I relax on my Naturepedic, by the way.)
I'm a fan of the eos classic. not so much a fan of the pillowtop. the pillowtop seems excessive and the amount of foam and quilting between you and the springs seems like it would make it near impossible to see any benefit from the springs. seems like they make it for for people that just want to spend more money just for the sake of spending more money because of one layer is good, two layer must be better. unless you're very heavy and curvy, I don't think the pillowtop is a better mattress than the classic. I love my classic. 8+ years and still feels like new.
only if you have more money than sense. if you're of average or lower BMI, your weight won't transfer through 6" of foam to the support coils. that said, I'm not a mattress expert, that's just my experience and observation. but with my logic your basically just buying a foam mattress, the coils may as well not even be there.
yeah, I have a naturepedic eos with microcoils over coils. my point to them is that the pillowtop version of the eos doesn't make sense to me from a functional standpoint. the pillowtop version has 6 inches of latex or microcoils on top of the support coils. unless you are very large and curvy, the 6 inches of foam or microcoils isn't gonna transfer much to the support coils.
Those two mattresses are quite different and I dont think you can go wrong with picking either. Both are high quality mattresses, the latex will be a more durable material although the memory foam in the Luxeadapt is good quality. I would worry more about the latex mattress feeling too firm than the soft memory foam mattress, memory foam is probably the most pressure relieving material. The EOS will provide a more "on top" feel to your mattress and should sleep quite a bit cooler through the night, while the memory foam mattress will give a more sinking feel and can cause issues for hot sleepers. As you noticed for motion isolation its no contest there, latex on coils will transfer quite a bit of motion, memory foam on polyurethane foam will transfer next to none. So both have their advantages and I would say its completely up to your preferences. Also you want to be sure to lay down on each mattress for a good 15 minutes or so before making the final decision. Unfortunately for the memory foam since its a heat reactive material it will soften throughout the night, so you can never get the full picture on how it will feel, but you still want to give it some time to feel for pressure point issues as well as making sure your alignment is alright. With the latex mattress its quite the opposite. It can feel soft at first impressions, but after about 15 minutes you can start to notice pressure point issues, this is often called "pushback" that is common with latex foam. Just listen to your own body and decide based on that though. What mattress I prefer out of the two doesnt matter. They are both good mattresses so go with what feels best to you.
Naturepedic EOS Pillowtop truly raised the bar and made our sleep amazing after near instantly hating a tempurpedic hybrid memory foam mattress.
I didn’t realize it immediately but i got my grail mattress this year. Naturepedic EOS pillowtop, a perfect latex hybrid that has truly improved my life. We are so glad we returned the awful Tempurpedic Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid within the trial window.
