I got a nectar for side sleeping full size for about 1400 bucks it took about 6 months for the break-in but it's amazing and has great stability for some romping. It's really the pillow that you have to consider and spending $150 on a pillow is worth it but don't buy it from nectar talk to your chiropractor for the right one
That is not great advice. My Nectar mattress arrived in a box and has been the absolute BEST mattress Ive ever owned.
You should take your own advice to heart then. Because its clear you dont know any better either. Just because it came in a box doesnt mean its not effective. Lumping all boxed mattresses into a negative category is a gross misrepresentation of boxed mattresses overall. Of course there are cheap and trashy ones, but theres also honest to gods amazing ones deservibg of praise. My Nectar king mattress that came in a box is 5 years old now and still feel like I just bought it last week.
We have a nectar memory foam mattress, it has been great. There are a ton of similar online mattress sellers that all seem to have a niche they are trying to fill, but we've been happy with ours and we've had it for a few years.
Nectar and Sleepy's are not terribly different quality. Nectar uses cooler covers. The Sleepy's have amazing weekend deals. I had a lady and her mom both by the 10" Medium foam yesterday because the mom slept on it in one of her guest rooms and now almost everyone in her family has one. They won't be the bed you keep forever, but they don't need to be. The base isn't just hype. The Basic one is just that--basic--but it's still better than flat by far.
You might want to check out the Nectar Memory Foam. My partner and I are both side sleepers and it's helped with back and hip pain quite a bit. It has that contouring feel without being too soft, and motion isolation is great too.
I have to strongly recommend against Nectar. I've heard a lot of people love theirs, which is shocking to me bc ours sinks down into a deep pit of quicksand and the misalignment causes sooooo much discomfort and pain. It's so soft that I have trouble turning over or getting out of bed (in my 30s and fit... But this mattress makes me feel 88 years old). Maybe we just got a dud but I truly hate it.
I flipped mine too! My husband says it feels like sleeping on cardboard lol. But I prefer it over the quicksand.
got a Nectar in my dorm last year thinking it was gonna be a win — first few months were great for side sleeping but ngl it started sleeping kinda warm in summer. mine also softened up more than I expected after like a year so I was kinda wishing I paid more attention to that part upfront.
That “starts great then softens” thing comes up a lot with memory foam. If you liked the feel at first, a firmer model or a hybrid (with coils) usually holds up better long term. For the heat, a breathable mattress protector or even switching to cotton/linen sheets can help a bit, but foam is still gonna trap more heat than coils. Sounds like it just wasn’t built for durability + hot climates.
