I would not recommend the nolah evo plush for them. I'm 5'5 130 and the plush felt like a hammock the first day I got it.

For hot sleepers: Nolah Evolution 15. Crazy airflow design and actually stays cool. Not cheap but transformed my sleep quality.

r/MattressSealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II "medium" too hot! Suggestions?

Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II Medium king We are both 195 lbs, 6 ft and 5 ft 1. Both primary side sleepers. My wife and I are coming from the waterbed world and settled on the Sealy High Point because of how it felt in the store and the salesperson praising it's cooling capabilities for hot sleepers. It was cool and felt great when we laid on it in the store. We are pretty much side sleepers, but do change throughout the night to back or stomach too.  We have slept on the mattress for 2 weeks now and tried everything to help sleep without waking up hot or sweating. We have the set the ac to 74 (Florida), have a directional fan and ceiling fan, we bought 2 different cooling mattress covers, new Mattress Firm's Sleepys cooling sheets, cooling blankets and cooling pillows.  So when climbing into bed, the mattress is almost uncomfortably cold, the blanket is cold and the room is cool with fans running on high. This is not something I look forward to, when instinct is to grab a warm blanket to feel comfortable when the bed and room is so chilly.   After a few minutes, the bed starts to adjust to our body temperature and becomes pretty comfortable and we fall asleep fairly easily. Then like clockwork 1.5 hours later I wake up hot and usually sweating and my wife usually has already thrown her blanket off. From then on, the bed remains miserably warm until we get up for the day. I haven’t slept through the night yet on this mattress. I’ve noticed that touching any part of the bed after sleeping on it, it's quite warm. Basically that nice cooling gel sensation is temporary.  We also tried the Casper “cooling” mattress from Costco and that was even hotter than the Sealy.  After making my brain hurt from reading all the reviews and people’s recommendations only to then find threads that completely contradict the positive reviews, I'm left clueless as to what to get that is comfortable but doesn’t turn into a heater after the “cooling gel effect” disappears? I think the consensus on here is that if you sleep hot, avoid memory foam.  I am leaning towards some kind of latex hybrid. I now have to wait 2 more weeks to hit the 30 day mark and pay Mattress Firm $250 to take this mattress back and find something else.

Update: So we tried the Bedjet with their recommended cloud sheets, and that made sleeping on the Sealy Posturepedic tolerable. If you don't move around in your sleep, it works pretty well to keep the air flowing under the blanket, and you stay very comfortable. If you DO move around, and the top sheet doesn't stay put, or the air escapes, you'll wake up hot, or just your feet will get uncomfortably cold. To be clear, when it works, it is quite nice. But at $1300, (nearly the price of a new mattress), we decided it was not a very good value for it to only work some of the time, so we returned it. If it were $4-500, we probably would have kept it. We ordered the Nolah Evolution in Luxury Firm, which the company claims uses special non-memory foam material that breathes exceptionally. But after trying it out, it was actually pretty similar as far as getting hot. Just more claims of "cooling" that last 20 minutes, then turn into a heater. We then ordered the Engineered Sleep Duo Latex mattress, and found that it is the best we have tried, and we no longer wake up in a pool of sweat. The split design should allow it to last longer than a conventional one-piece mattress. We have finally gotten restful sleep after the nightmare of mattress shopping and are very happy with our purchase. Additionally, the bedroom temperature remains 72-74, and we are quite comfortable. We also ordered a set of 100% cotton sheets and blankets, which also made a difference. The breathability is quite obvious. Mattress Firm sold us $170 "cooling sheets" when they sold us the Sealy mattress, but apparently, they also hold the heat and didn't help the issue.

I purchased a Nolah evolution plush in king size and was pleased with how I slept. Then we purchased a vacation home and I purchased the Nolah evolution luxury firm. We liked that one too. If was only slightly more firm. If I had to pick it would be the plush, but my wife prefers the luxury firm. I hope this helps anyone trying to navigate the maze. I am not affiliated with any brand I'm just an ordinary guy needing a mattress.

r/CPAPBest mattress for hip pain suggestions for a CPAP user? NEED HELP
6 months ago

The Nolah Evolution might actually be a really good fit. My brother-in-law's had one for a while now and won't stop talking about it like literally he’s got similar hip issues and uses a CPAP too. He swears his hip pain has pretty much been gone after switching. I think there are a few versions like the Evolution 15 and one called the Comfort+ so there’s some flexibility depending on how plush or supportive you want it. He went with the 15 and said it felt super cushy but still held up well. Also, apparently the foam they use really doesn’t trap heat

he went with the Evolution 15 in the plush option, and he’s a side sleeper too. He said it felt super soft at first but in a good way like it kind of cradles your shoulder and hip without feeling like you’re stuck. I tried it when I visited and honestly it was comfortable AF. But it comes in medium firm and firm too, so you can go firmer if you don't like the plush version

r/MattressSide sleepers: Nolah Evolution 15 or Helix Midnight Luxe or others?

The Nolah Evolution 15” in Luxury Firm 100%. The Helix Midnight Luxe is a true medium-firm mattress, (which is good for light stomach sleeping), but it will put some pressure on your shoulders and hips.

The Nolah Evolution 15” is similar to WinkBeds, and I think it’s a better choice for side sleepers… that’s just my opinion.

Since you loved the WinkBeds Plush and have been adding toppers to your other mattresses to get that sink-in feel, I’d suggest the Nolah Evolution 15” in Plush. It has better quality materials and zoned support, so you should get the pressure relief you’re looking for, plus good support for both side and back sleeping. For the kids, I’m not sure how old they are or what level of support they need, but Brooklyn Beddings’ Signature Hybrid is highly recommended in this sub. It’s well-made, affordable, and comes in various firmness levels, so you can get a plush or medium option. They’ve recently revamped it.

r/MattressTwin XL or Split King mattresses and an adjustable base with lumbar and massage. Brands to consider?

Since you’re considering a split king, it’s a good idea to choose a mattress that offers the same mattress but in different firmness levels. It comes down to how you like to sleep, but from what you’re considering, Nolah is softer, (and by the way, they still have zones coils in their design.) Bear, is firmer and more responsive than Nolah. They both come in soft, medium, and firm. I’m not sure where to point you just by knowing your weight, but that’s what I can say about those two.

Hey, I'm a mattress reviewer, and I got to try the Nolah Evolution 15" model (Luxury Firm). Based on what you're looking for with pressure relief and also support. As you said, the mattress is zoned, and it was great at keeping me in proper alignment as a side sleeper and a back sleeper. Plus, I'm a bigger guy (6'7" 295 lbs), and the mattress was able to give me the support I needed. I didn't "bottom out" when I was on my side, which can often happen as a bigger guy. The mattress is also good with cooling. I'm also a hot sleeper, and paired with some more breathable sheets, I didn't experience any overheating. Here's my full review if that helps: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uubzm8ggQ5w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uubzm8ggQ5w)

r/MattressRecommendation? Queen, cool, motion-isolating, side/stomach sleepers
10 months ago

I just wanted to say thank you. We ended up with the Brooklyn Bed foundation and the Nolah Evo 15. Funny enough, the foundation arrived a few days before the mattress, so I built that up, replaced the old box spring with it in our bed frame, and put the old memory foam mattress onto it. It was like having a new mattress. It wasn't until we carried the old box spring upstairs and set it on the floor that we noticed how badly it had bowed over the years. I could spin it like a top. The old memory foam is now on top of it on the floor, so we'll see if it flattens back out any. All that said, we like the Nolah a lot. Motion isolation seems better, it sleeps cooler, and it feels like the best of traditional coils and memory foam (which I guess it is...) And I think my wife's favorite part is the doggone free pillows that came free with the expensive mattress hahaha

If you're looking for plush, the luxury firm Winkbed would likely be too firm. I tried that and the soft model and the soft was definitely more comfortable. On the other hand, my son has the Nolah Evolution in luxury firm and it's actually quite soft and definitely a nicer bed than the Winkbed. I think the Nolah is a good bet for what you're looking for. Upgrade to the cooling cover. It's really a nice addition to the mattress.

Love my Nolah Plush. I’ve had it for about 9mths. I’m on vacation now and sleeping on different beds and my back misses it!
