Your comments and knowledge are amazing. Thank you. We have a Purple 3 that is about 6 or 7 years old. It is too soft and needs to go. We loved it for a long time but now think we might need firmer because my husband has parksinons and we are both struggling to turn over at night. I am lost at this point and would consider the newer Purple but they are quite expensive. Any thoughts or recommendations?
There isn't one. I broke the seal in 2020. We bought purple 3. After trying many. Was the most expensive mattress we have ever purchased. Well worth it. being frugal isn't about being cheap. It is also about the value of what you acquire. We have been. Through 10 other big box discount mattresses over the years because they all sucked. Longest any other mattress we had was a sping aire that would have been on the expensive side if not for the Dillard's we purchased at being closed. It lasted 6 years before the box springs, and the mattress began to sag. Being less fortunate when we were younger, I have thrown away several sams specials cause they all sucked.
I have had two Tuft & Needle mattresses, when we sold our house furnished, the buyers wanted the bedroom furniture including the mattress so we just ordered a new one (they no longer make the old model we had). We hate it. I find myself laying on our guest bed a lot (and loving it ) which is a $200 hybrid mattress off Amazon and we're considering just buying one of those. We stayed at an AirBNB that had a Purple mattress that we loved, I took pictures of the tag, they no longer make THAT one so killed that plan.
I like a firm/cool mattress & got the purple hybrid 2nd hand (like new, just unboxed) for $600 ~5 years ago and it has been awesome, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
I am in the same situation as you but have the pro breeze 12 hybrid. It is a LOG!!!😞I have slept on it three nights and dread when it is time to lay down!I weigh 175 pounds and am a side sleeper.I have significant arthritis and a few herniated discs. My husband is 225 and it hurts him less.He still isn’t a fan though. We came out of a failed purple hybrid that was not high quality but it was way more comfortable than this crap. I have one comfort return with matress firm and am thinking of a beautyrest black or a sterns and foster.I have an adjustable base.Right now I am thinking Beautyrest black.
Honestly just grabbed a purple hybrid last year and it's been solid. stays cool, decent support, no sagging yet. bit pricey but they do sales sometimes. tempur-pedic is nice but $$$ and can sleep hot. casper's fine but nothing special imo
Same. Super hot sleeper, I have a hybrid purple (so inner springs and not just memory foram) and it is much, much cooler than a typical memory foam mattress and about the same as an old school pocket coil mattress.
What are your thoughts on Purple mattresses? I’ve had mine for 8 years or so and still sleeps like new and never gets hot due to the honeycomb design.
