Winkbeds had an all foam Gravity Lux that does not sleep hot. The firm would be a good option for you. I currently have the hybrid Winkbeds Luxury Firm. It is cool sleeping as well and I am a side sometimes back sleeper. Both offer shoulder and hip relief and help support my lower back issues. I had the Saatva hybrid luxury firm..it was not as well made as my Winkbeds. On the Saatva I could feel down to the coils. Not fun. I exchanged for the new Saatva all foam medium mattress. It was perfect - except it runs hot. Otherwise pretty dreamy and supportive. Winkbeds is still the best and their customer service is up there like Saatva’s. Good luck.

Yes! Either one would work. I absolutely loved the way I felt on their Gravity Lux Medium..however, my lower lumbar needed more support, so I got the All foam gravity lux in a Queen for a good deal in the Firm. It still felt so nice and did not over heat and my shoulders felt relief (cushioned) amd my lower back did not hurt anymore. Fast forward five years and I decided to upgrade to the Hybrid Luxury Firm. Really well made and supports my back and shoulders and hips feel good. Meanwhile my husband is still loving his all foam gravity lux and going on six years no issues. I just went for the hybrid because I felt like it supports my lower back a bit better; but it could just be that I thought my issue with my back was the mattress, so I got the hybrid. My husband has lower back issues and he will never get anything but Winkbeds All foam gravity lux. So either one you cant go wrong. Winkbeds is the best company!! Do not do any toppers or latex. The Plus is too hard. Enjoy!! If I did not have a sore lower back I would buy the Gravity Lux Medium.
I tried the Contour5 Medium from Saatva and I loved it too; BUT, had to return it because it heated up too much. The Winkbeds all foam Gravity Lux is awesome and does not heat up on me. They have a super comfy all foam in Medium like the Countour5 in feel, but a lot less money and is cooler.
Saatva Contour5 is incredible
I had my Saatva Zenhaven delivered three days ago, so my experience is limited. My previous Saatva all-foam mattress was fine for awhile but after 18 months or so really became painful to sleep on. Because it was past warranty I never reached out to customer service. The new all-latex mattress has provided me and my doggo a very good sleep experience for the last few days. I have a surgery coming up that will require weeks of bed rest, so we contacted customer service to ask about the delivery. CS was very helpful and put us on priority delivery.
We’ve had our Saatva hybrid since 2019 and it’s not sagging. I like their 365 day exchange policy that we did take advantage of when we didn’t care for the multi layered foam with cooling gel model (that was anything but). Also they have brick and mortar stores. And they have delivery and set up and old mattress removal. I wouldn’t categorize as “just another online brand”.
I used Satava but I don't think it's bay area
I got my mattress online. It’s a Satvaa and it’s so so luxurious. I travel a lot for work and my bed is 1000x better than even the best 5 star hotels. Free delivery and return policy too.
I bought a latex mattress built on coil base and am very happy. And relieved, because I previously had a Saatva that I returned under their 1-year guarantee. The Saatva was not firm enough but this one is perfect. I got it at a local store (European Sleepworks) that only delivers in the Bay Area, but other companies make similar ones.
Had a Saatva for a couple years and couldn’t wait to get rid of it. Also upgraded to a S&F. My only qualm with the newer ones is the blue color! I tend to always use white sheets, and the blue color can be seen through them which I’m not a fan of
I’m the same and sleep on my side because of sleep apnea. I bought a Saatva mattress almost 2 years ago and it’s been great. I liked they had a retail store to try the mattresses. As good as online shopping is, I believe that things that go between you and the ground (like mattresses and shoes) need to be tried in person. Also, remember any new mattress will feel odd for a short while when you make a change and you get used to it. I forget exactly, but they had a generous return policy.
As someone who’s pored over the lawsuits against Saatva, avocado, etc., I’m not 100% anytning is fully nontoxic. There are unintentional and incidental PFAS everywhere. For me personally my approach is harm reduction and GreenGuard fold, certiPUR are my bare minimum. Oeko tek, madesafe,GOL/GOTS are good, too but those mattresses were way above our price range. If price is nonissue , naturepedic and birch are alternatives. I did not like avocado or birch- too bouncy. We went with Saatva.
