- My Current Queen Sized Mattress: [**9-inch Royal Pedic Latex Quilt-Top Mattress.**](https://royalpedic.com/products/royal-latex-quilt-top-mattress/) > All Cotton Covering > French Wool layer > 6-inch Ergonomical 7-Zone Talalay Latex Core > Pin-Core, Two Sided Construction >> *The 7-zone core and two-sided construction are what I will miss. The core is all one piece. Not layers.* >> *Out of my price range right now and I will be moving in about two years. And this mattress will be very hard to move.* >> *My box spring is in amazing condition and I would love to keep it. 50% more modular supports in the center-third of the box spring unit. The coil wire is heavy duty 8 3/4 gauge as compared to 9 1/2 gauge as standard. Mounted on 5-Star hotel grade wide slat construction. Upholstered with cotton padding and heavy duty cotton fabric undercloth. Royal-Pedic box springs have flexiblity providing an extra layer of suspension.* - Option 1: [**Berkley Ergonomics Linden**](https://berkeleyergo.com/products/berkeley-ergonomics-copenhagen-talalay-latex-10-latex-mattress?variant=42174737743983) ($3,000) > Gently zoned 6 inch Talalay support core > 2 inch Talalay comfort layer > Cover made with 100% organic cotton quilted to 100% pure Plein Air wool > 1-inch Talalay topper = $949.00 USD >> *This is also more than I want to spend. I'm considering it as it will be a little over half of a replacement Royal Latex.* - Option 2: [**Plush beds 9” Botanical Bliss**](https://www.plushbeds.com/products/the-botanical-bliss-organic-latex-mattress?variant=18770039242850) ($1,849) > Quilted cotton cover + 1 - inch organic wool. > 2-inch latex comfort layer - probably Dunlop > 6-inch Dunlop latex core >> *The price is about right but I want to try to get Talalay if I can.Price is more around what I'm willing to pay.* - Option 3: [**Nest Finch**](https://www.nestbedding.com/products/finch-natural-latex-mattress) ($2,149) > [1.5 inch Eco flex quilting foam cover](https://www.nestbedding.com/cdn/shop/products/detail-lark_01_800x570.jpg?v=1634886999) >> *Does anyone know what Eco flex is?* > 3-inches Talalay > 6-inches Talalay >> *This is a really strong contender for me. All Talalay and I like the quilted cover even though it's not natural material. I really wish we could buy the Fawcett Mattress in the USA. I get it you need a top layer but why not wool/cotton? - Option 4: [**My Green Mattress, Nature Escape**](https://www.mygreenmattress.com/product/natural-escape/) ($1,444) > 8-inches of coils > 3-inches of Dunlop latex > Wool quilted cover, Button Tufted > 2-inch Dunlop Topper $254 >> *This is one of the few and maybe the only coil mattress I'm considering. The price is really good. And it's got some latex albeit Dunlop. The trade-off is the price. I would say they have good reviews but I kind of ignore reviews.* - Option 4: [**Sleep on Latex, Pure Green**](https://sleeponlatex.com/products/natural-latex-mattress) ($1,099) > Comfort Layer - 2 inches medium Dunlop > Base Layer - 6 inches firm Dunlop = 8 inches Dunlop Latex. Layers are laminated together > Cotton Knit Facing, Wool Batting, Cotton Quiltbacking > 2-inch Dunlop Topper = $165 >> *This is another strong contender due to price and everyone here seems to like them.* - Option 5: [**Latex Mattress Factory, Luxerion**](https://latexmattressfactory.com/products/luxerion-latex-mattress?variant=42374210453557), 10-inch ($1,249) > 3 x 3-inch Layers of Dunlop Latex > 1-inch of Wool > Cotton Zipper Cover > 2-inch Talalay Topper ($351) >> *Another well-priced option but funky sales practices, and again, so many layers. It's clear to me that layers are how these companies stay in business. No one can afford to offer a 7-9 inch solid piece of Talalay, like the Royal Pedic* - Option 6: [**Sleep EZ 7-inch Latex**](https://sleepez.com/product/organic-latex-mattress/) ($1,521) > 2 x 3-inch layers of Talalay, Firm, Medium > Zippered Quilted Cotton Cover > Wool & Latex Topper ($640) >> *There's a reason why this is basically the same construction as the Mattress Factory but double the price. I don't love the 3 x layers again - having already said why. But I do like the all Talalay. I like the quilted cover.* - Option 6A: [**Select Sleep 7-inch Latex**](https://sleepez.com/product/organic-latex-mattress/) > 2 x 3-inch layers of Talalay, Firm, Medium > Zippered Quilted Cotton Cover designed specifically for the 7-inch version. > *Very strong contender in that I can't see a reason for the third layer. - Option 7: ~~[**Avocado Latex**](https://www.avocadogreenmattress.com/collections/latex-mattresses/products/organic-latex-foam-mattress?variant=36584427389078)~~ ($3,299) > ~~2 inches of Dunlop latex in the top comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft)~~ > ~~3 inches of firm Dunlop latex (D75) in the middle~~ > ~~4 inches of firm Dunlop latex (D75) at the base.~~ > ~~wool (1 ounce per square foot) under the cotton ticking~~ > ~~Tufted, Greenguard, Out of Stock.~~ > ~~2 inch Talalay Topper: $494~~ >> ~~*This might be my mattress. I wonder how many other people are waiting for this mattress to be back "in stock." There is an option to enter your email address to be notified when it is "back in stock." I feel like they leave that up to collect email addresses they can use for future marketing or when they sell. Regardless, 9-inches of latex and the wool layer was attractive to me and this was a strong contender. This mattress would literally come in six pieces with nothing to hold it in but a zippered cotton cover. I feel like there will be separation and splaying over time. And for 3,200 - it's at the top of my price range so it was an easy no.* - Definite No #2: [**Eclipse Embrace 10" Firm**](https://eclipsemattress.com/products/embrace-latex-mattress-10-cushion-firm?variant=47809188725017) ($4,649) > Layer 1: 3-inches of 5-Zone latex - probably Dunlop > Layer 2: 3-inches of 5-Zone Latex - probably Dunlop > Layer 3: 6-inch Latex Core - probably Dunlop > Stretch Knit Cover. Not quilted or tufted > Greenguard, Based in New Jersey >> *I like that this has a 6" core but not at that price for Dunlop. I know these mattresses come from all over the place and I don't really care in most cases. But this being from New Jersey. Just very far to ship a mattress in boxes...* - Definite No #3: **Aireloom** ($4,000) > Only Hybrid > Visco Foam, not latex >> *This was so highly recommended and is local to me. I could probably handle the coils but not the memory foam.* ********* I am 160 lbs. 5' 6" and a side/stomach sleeper. I fall asleep on my stomach but often wake up on my side. I have scoliosis that no one would notice but it means that I need to sleep on the side where my ribs are concave to flatten the other side of my ribs that are the opposite of concave (ie; convex). It that makes sense.

Sorry such a late reply. I might be moving sooner than I thought so seeing if I can hold on. After months of research, I'm just now realizing how important tufting is and how most mattress companies are now just using glue. This is why their mattresses have to be stored flat and can't store on their sides. Most customers are under the impession that if you have a 6-inch latex core you don't need tufting but it makes a big difference and affects the firmness and feel of the mattress. Many companies like Nest (and I might buy one of their mattresses) do an extreme quilting on the top because it makes the mattress look like an old-style tufted mattress. And you can feel what seems like tufting, which a lot of people like. Myself included.

Saatva Zenhaven for 7.5 years. Smells like a used up tennis ball and I get a week of sheets and mattress pads before they absorb the rubber smell. I like the latex feel but would never pay their price again.

9 years on Saatva Zenhaven. Year 7 stared to notice a rubber smell. Now it just smells like new tennis balls out of the can. I have to wash sheets and mattress pad every Saturday or I cat stand it. In the market for a different mattress.

The saatva zenhaven is amazing. For those who want the plush top they have one of those too. But you should head to saatva and try them on. Here is how my trials went: 1st one.. hate 2nd o e hate 3rd one hate 4th ok I am just being thorough oh wait I can live with this one 5th one omg I must buy this one. Best interest could tell btw my SOs thoughts were 1) good 2) good 3)good omg she is hating everything 4) good 5) o.g let's get this. In the big mattress stores we never found an agreement. We found one where we could both be OK with but nothing exciting. Pretty much everything I liked my SO hated and everything my SO loved i hated. There were ofc ple ty we both hated. And it didn't necessarily correlate with price though we did both end up on the firm side of mattresses.

It took me several months to finally get used to the Saatva Latex hybrid. It is firm, but it's not as firm as the all latex bed i got from them. Zenhaven. I have to rotate it every six months because it keeps staying firm. Every three months is too often. I tried all kinds of toppers but they were too squishy. Felt like I was in jello. I like the bed now and wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm a side sleeper and also a captain Morgan position sleeper.

Saatva makes Zenhaven. We've had this all-latex mattress for some time, and we think it's fantastic. I'd never buy a Tempur-pedic or any memory foam--they sleep hot.

A hybrid is not the same as all latex. I've been sleeping on all latex mattresses (one before I moved that is still like new and in use, one where I moved to) for well over a decade--also sleeps like new. Neither my boyfriend nor I are as svelte as OP & her boyfriend, but the mattress we have currently (a Zenhaven) is no worse for the wear. I think that Costco probably doesn't carry Avocado's all latex because they are more expensive, plus they seem to be out of stock quite often, so maybe they have trouble sourcing--which wouldn't work for a company like Costco. Anyway, if you buy all latex, you won't need to replace your mattress for decades--unless you just don't like the feel.

Zenhaven is more expensive. If we had to replace it, we'd probably go with another brand, like those you've named. So many companies have cropped up since, and it was less money back then, although still expensive for the time. The mattress I had at my home up north was a Sealy, and they stopped making them. I think beside the fact that the latex is so much more durable than other soft alternatives, the fact that there's no coils to eventually wear out or fail are the reasons for these mattresses' longevity. I'm evangelical about them, TBH. I guess sleeping on latex might take some getting used to for some people, but I felt comfortable right away.

I’d go Saatva again, and get the Zenhaven. It’s - flippable mattress. One side “Gentle Firm” other side is “Luxury Plush. Organic breathable latex, with Organic Cotton cover for coolness, and layered New Zealand wool great for body temp regulation. 1 year trial, Lifetime Warranty, Free delivery and removal. IMO it’s the best mattress under $3k. Other options would be a Tempur Pro Breeze plush or a Purple, which is also ‘cooler’ than others like BR Black or Stearns.

I had my Saatva Zenhaven delivered three days ago, so my experience is limited. My previous Saatva all-foam mattress was fine for awhile but after 18 months or so really became painful to sleep on. Because it was past warranty I never reached out to customer service. The new all-latex mattress has provided me and my doggo a very good sleep experience for the last few days. I have a surgery coming up that will require weeks of bed rest, so we contacted customer service to ask about the delivery. CS was very helpful and put us on priority delivery.

I’ve had it for about a week and have noticed a significant difference in temperature. It’s definitely more cooling and breathable than my previous $200 hybrid mattress from Amazon. I use the firmer side (dual-sided: luxury firm and firm) and am quite satisfied with the airflow. As a matter of fact, I noticed how breathable it was when I was at the showroom — the latex felt the most cooling for my case
