The boring mattress founder trolls reddit to post and prop up his own product. But goddamn I just bought a queens hybrid because I was only allowed one 100 sleep night with T&N and I wanted to try out the Mint Hybrid because for some reason during Labor Day it was cheaper than the regular queen hybrid. Turned out way too soft. Boring mattress queen hybrid about half the cost of T&N and turns out to be pretty much exact firmness I was looking for. That also said, when I moved the T&N mint to the floor for the two weeks when both overlapped — the support on the ground made that mattress also pretty damn comfortable in a different way. Also slept on a pillow top sealy mattress at a Hyatt, was one of the absolute best nights in a bed I’d ever had. There is a purchase program. I did look into it. But I’m fine with the Boring one I’ve got now.

I’m on week 5 with my helix midnight elite. The first week I thought it was much firmer than the mattress we tried out in the store but sure enough it broke in over the second and third weeks. I do agree it is life changing and the improved sleep has affected quality of life all around. I look forward to sleeping in it every night, so much so I’ve been going to bed much earlier. We kept our old firm Sealy Posturepedic pillow top mattress for a spare bedroom, I tried sleeping it in again out of curiosity and I can’t believe I spent over a decade sleeping on that unsupportive bed.

I always have bought Sealy mattresses with the pillow top, you can get it in different firmness. They last many many years, super comfortable. Make sure you have a good solid support for the mattress (i use a box spring and a small frame). I would suggest not going for a cheaper one, I think with mattresses there really is a price difference in quality.

I had the same experience with Tuft and Needle. In 2018 I bought The T&N memory foam mattress. The only mattress they sold then. Triple layer foam, it was great. It did eventually start to sag though and my kids spilled juice on it numerous times, so I eventually looked to retire it. By now, T&N had expanded their lineup, but they still had the T&N Original mattress. Great! I'll just buy another. Not great. The new "Original" was now only dual layer memory foam, not triple. When I saw on the edge of the bed, I sank pretty far in. Kneeling on the bed for "purposes" was very uncomfortable and awkward, my knees were hitting the slats underneath. It developed a pretty bad sag fairly quickly, so much so that it felt like I was sleeping in a valley. I jumped through similar hoops for warranty with T&N and they also determined it was able to be warrantied because the sag wasn't enough. It must be visible and at least 3/4 inch. We went to Disney in January of last year and I had one of the best sleeps of my life on the mattress at the resort I stayed at. We asked the concierge about the mattresses they use and they provided the exact model. I managed to track down the retail version of it, a Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop and bought it. It's been great over the past year and a half.

I bought a posturepedic around 2010 and it was the worst. Never got a good night sleep.
