Do no such thing. I did exactly that. I miss my old 15-20 yo mattress. Crown jewel double pillow top. Paid $4k for it. Try, if it sucks return. It's a pia to find a good mattress.
I slept in a koala, can't say it's the best, but will do, they are handy as it comes in a box. My go to are If money is non-issue : Sealy Posturepedic, Crown Jewel range Otherwise: Sealy Posturepedic. Always preferred the spring mattress than latex or foam.
The boring mattress founder trolls reddit to post and prop up his own product. But goddamn I just bought a queens hybrid because I was only allowed one 100 sleep night with T&N and I wanted to try out the Mint Hybrid because for some reason during Labor Day it was cheaper than the regular queen hybrid. Turned out way too soft. Boring mattress queen hybrid about half the cost of T&N and turns out to be pretty much exact firmness I was looking for. That also said, when I moved the T&N mint to the floor for the two weeks when both overlapped — the support on the ground made that mattress also pretty damn comfortable in a different way. Also slept on a pillow top sealy mattress at a Hyatt, was one of the absolute best nights in a bed I’d ever had. There is a purchase program. I did look into it. But I’m fine with the Boring one I’ve got now.
Sealy posturpedic king, $3Gs and we were unsure. My dudes like three and a half years ago we were sleeping on an 8yo king we bought from a discount furniture place for maybe $700. The frame was disintegrating to the point where one side would collapse overnight. Now this mattress sits on a fucking throne of a bed frame from a fancy furniture store as at the time my brother in law was a muckety muck and we got it at cost.WE. ARE. SPOILED. Anytime we travel, we miss this bed. Mattress? Absolutely, but the rock solid frame too. It’s all a system, don’t skimp.
SO... we had a Tempur Cloud Supreme from 2012 that we loved but it had definitely seen better nights by this point , we decided to go a different route when we replaced it last month. We chose a Sealy Posturpedic. We found it very comfortable in the store. Suffice it to say... we returned it this past weekend and have a Tempur ProAdapt coming this weekend to replace it. I think those that love Tempur mattresses will have a hard time replacing it with anything else. Just my 2cents.
We got a black friday mattress on sale "mattress in a box" for a few hundred dollars & it is about as good as our old Sealy Posturpedic we had for 10 years. We figured, a few hundred every few years is better than 2-3k for one Sealy. The Sealy was good for about 5 years. So it's either 3k every 5 years or 500 every 3-5 years. I should've bought the mattress in a box sooner 😆
Sealy Posturpedic has been a game change for me. I never have back pain. I love it. I'm a few weeks from 56.
Our antepenultimate mattress was a high-priced Sealy Posturpedic from Jordans. Within six years, we knew it was a mistake. The doctor recommended an adjustable bed to my spouse, so we headed for the local Mattress Firm. We found a very knowledgeable salesperson, who had to be told to please show us the best. For the past several years, we’ve been sleeping in the most comfortable bed on earth; high-end Tempur Pedic on a fully adjustable frame. A couple months ago, we stayed in my elderly parents’ guest room and discovered the beds were terrible. The very next day, we went to their local Mattress Firm and found reasonably priced very comfortable mattresses on sale, with adjustable frames thrown in. They delivered the very next day, and we’ve heard back from their “Sleep Expert” a few times now just making sure that the beds were perfect. I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere but Mattress Firm again.
