You might want to try the: Sealy Posturepedic Plus Prosser Hills 13.5" Plush Mattress. We just returned ours back to Costco Friday. It was supportive but too soft for us. You may like it.
We got the Sealy Posturepedic Plus Prosser Hill 13.5" plush king mattress about 4 months ago and so far we're loving it. We both have back problems and neither of us are having any issues so far. I'm a back sleeper and my wife is a side sleeper.
Five months ago we got the Sealy Posturepedic Plus Prosser Hills 13.5" Plush Mattress king, with box springs. So far we love it. We did a LOT of research and narrowed it down to looking at CostCo mattresses that were not rolled up/flattened/boxed/shrink-wrapped for delivery. We also wanted inside delivery, setup, and haul off of the old mattress. Over the years we've tried various options - our favorite was a 100% foam latex mattress that was flippable and not compressed, I don't recall the brand. It lasted for 7-ish years before the grooves/sags got to be untenable. Given how expensive it was we weren't ready to do that again so we looked at other options. We tried several mattresses in a box that came flattened then expanded after unpacking. Most were great for a year or two but then started to sag way too much. When we moved into our current house 8 years ago we got a traditional coil mattress and box spring which was 'okay' but lasted 7 years (don't remember the brand). So, our direct experience said either 100% latex foam (too expensive) or traditional, non-compressed mattress. We also wanted the simplest possible return process if we didn't like it, hence CostCo. That being said, mattress preferences are highly personal so your mileage may vary from anyone's advice, including mine. That's why we chose CostCo, for the ease of changing our minds (which we haven't had to do yet).
I just returned one to Costco, lasted 4 months. It started to get strange lumps running lengthwise creating serious body pains upon awakening. Prosser hills firm to be exact. Swapped it out with the Stearns and Foster Kirkland and it is a much better mattress Delivery guys said they are getting a lot of returns across the Sealy lines at Costco, bummer because we have used the brand for years
Whoa! 4 months ago (Labor Day sales) I *also* bought a Prosser Hills from Costco, though mine was Plush, size Full. I am underwhelmed, because there seems to be a ridge running lengthwise, head to foot. C'mon, I weigh all of 115 pounds and have made a point of trying to sleep in the center of the bed! I shouldn't be feeling anything except fully rested. My Costco does not have display beds. Do you know what the "street" model name is for your Stearns & Foster Kirkland? So I could maybe find it to test at Mattress Firm or other showroom. Is it the Studio model? I liked that one while I was shopping around. I'd like to stay with Costco, certainly for the price & guarantee, but also because I'm a little old lady in a small city apartment and manoeuvering these behemoth mattresses is beyond me.
Bought a Sealy Posturepedic Plus about 4 years ago and love(d) it until we noticed some sagging last year. It’s unfortunately gotten worse no matter how many times we’ve rotated it. Hubby and I are light weights and we travel about half the year so we estimate 50% the normal usage? Lets hope their warranty is fair. Our friends bought Casper around the same time and they’ve had no issues. I read that if you buy it online they will pick up for free if needed, so maybe consider online.
Whatever it is it needs to be soft. This might be one of those scenarios where all the high density foams they talk about in this subreddit might be too dense for you to even imprint reasonably, so might be better off with a lower end version of something than the mid or high end (like a Sealy Posturepedic Plus instead of the Pro or Elite lines, for a less dense foam and skipping the extra lumbar support). Otherwise if you're going higher end probably something with some sort of fluffy wool or cotton pillow top. I definitely agree with the head boss of this subreddit though, that the best thing anyone can do before buying a mattress is going to one of those big mattress stores to actually try some stuff and see what you actually like. And if you find something you love for the right price, then you don't have to worry about mattresses anymore.
